It'll depend on your local SSA office. Some are giving in-person appointments if you have a valid job offer in writing or some medical issue. And a few offices are more lax in giving in-person appointments. You should call the 1-800 number for your local office: https://secure.ssa.gov/ICON/main.jsp

Your wife should call SSA: "IMPORTANT: Call us if you do not receive your Social Security card after 3 weeks or if you change your mailing address after arrival in the United States. If you call us, please have this letter with you. It will help us answer your questions." https://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/Handout_11_1.html

Since your wife entered on 06/24/20 it's still normal processing. I assume you paid the $220 USCIS Immigrant Fee before she entered the US. If after 120 days pass since she entered the US and she hasn't received the GC, then contact USCIS: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/expect-green-card

I spokewith someone from the uscis I told

them I payed the fee and it has been 120 days since I payed it and gave me a confirmation number as well.

also was told I would get a letter within a month and that was July 24, 2020.

I called my local ssa they don’t do In person interview or appointment. But I did hear from them about that they might consider if she has a job offer. Also told them I need a social security number for my daughter for medical insurance purpose.
they wouldn’t consider a in person interview for my daughter after telling them that I can enroll her in my insurance :(

  2. So my wife and I did the spousal visa. She’s in the states now but with that being said we’re still waiting for her physical green card and her social security to come through.
Do we have to follow through social security regarding about getting one or will the process it just like how we stated on the form of the application?

sorry if this is in the wrong form

    Hello

I'm confused about the direction/ visa I need. I'm married to my wife Indonesian/government approved and registered there 5 yrs. Early 2020 legally married in Texas.  Have a child 4 yrs duel citizenship. Have a step son national Indonesian.  Wife and step son have visitor visas. 4 yrs old is set. I wish to bring them over to USA. Which visa would apply for a green card??  1R-1 and CR2. Or ?????   And applying for whichever visa do they have to be in USA or Indonesian during the process..

Sorry to piggy back new to this app.

You would do the cr-1 spousal visa

just like my case was married in the Philippines And did the spousal visa. My whole process took a year n half

  4. Good morning

so my wife has entered the United States and living with me for almost 3 weeks now. She had to be here before her visa expires on July 2, 2020
she’s eager to work but her green card hasn’t come in yet.

On top of the she has a property that some is really interested and made a nice offer but she has to be there physically to take care of business.

Can she fly out even though her green card is not here yet and USA visa expired ?

Not on the day.  Pray that you arrive on time without delay

Yea this is stressful just tryin to get a one way ticket to Manila, it’s not about the money what My concern is if there would be any cancellation  the flight is in 5 days

Of course she will be allowed in with an unexpired visa..  Just don't transit a banned country.

Also please don't cross post your questions especially in the k1 forums since you are a spousal.

This is my second time my flight got canceled jfk to mnl.
after speaking to an agent regarding booking my flight anywhere possible.
After said and done they want me to pay about 900$ for a re-route from San Francisco to Manila. It’s a lot pricey almost a regular ticket. But our return date to USA will be July 2 morning time. Will it be risky because her visa expires on July 2 and that’s the earliest to come back from Manila as per pal airlines customer service which took a hour to reach somebody.

Will there be any issue coming to the states on the day her visa is expired?

A K1 is exempt.  It does not say "Immigrant Visa" on it and requires AOS in order to get a green card.

My wife and I did a spousal visa and she got her us visa on March. Wife and daughter is planning to come here before her visa expires.

will she be allow of entry to states as well?

So my flight for June 2 got canceled out there my wife spoke to Philippines  airlines they got me a flight on June 15 (🙏🏽) and if anything if the flight was supposed to be canceled they advise us to go to US Embassy/Manila website  to make a special flight just because her visa expires in July 2. Has anyone heard such thing go into US Embassy or manila Embassy website regarding about special flights??

So my flight jfk to manila got cancelled for the second time again. Suppose to leave in a week and on top of that is my wife has to get here before her visa expires which is in July. its not like my wife and i are not trying to get a flight as possible as we can. But we spoke about it what if we don't get a flight before her visa expires. I can feel her emotion, especially what she been through by herself raising our daughter alone :(. I told her let's not get discourage about this and its not like we did not do anything about it. So with that being said what's the process to get another visa for my wife? it's not like they will extend her visa and also the whole country was on lock down for 2-3 months. I'm sure we was not the only one in this situation to get where they need to be before the visa expires..

if anyone has any opinion let me know and we appreciate you visa journey community

I was scheduled to leave March 6th, got canned on that fight, rescheduled it to June 8th that one got canned on Saturday.  I booked another flight to Philippines for late August, I had booked that one like 6 months ago.

I am feeling optimistic about my August trip happening, I just hope the country has nightlife and entertainment districts open especially in Manila and Davao.

American Airlines does not fly to Philippines and hasn't for decades of ever. I have 5 million miles on AA and never have been on AA metal to there.  United and Delta do and Hawaii did at one time.  You either go to Narita and go via JAL or usually to Hong Kong and then via Cathay Pacific or on PAL.  There was an option to connect via China Southern in Guangzhou but that was to start in April. Cathay is running at less than 10% of it precovid schedule and hasn't run a revenue flight to Manila or Cebu since around March 1 ( I had a flight out from PI scheduled for March 3 that was changed by American/Cathay 11 times before they just re-booked it via Narita on JAL hmmm

Well before I was taking Cathay as always and which was closer for me right at Newark airport. So I’m taking a straight flight from JFK

(pal airlines)to Manila and hopefully to Davao that’s my connecting flight.

hope it all works out 🙏🏽

Possible.  Hopefully they will get rid of the quarantine thing soon, and let tourist back into Philippines as well.

You know how strict the Mayor of Davao is. Please keep us posted on your journey there.

I had my early March trip cancelled to Philippines, and early this week American Airlines called me and informed me my flight for June 8th from USA to Philippines was cancelled, I still have late August trip scheduled to Philippines.  And I have relatives in Davao and will eventually make it down there during the trip.

Well that probably because your taking American Airlines. I’m taking pal airlines so might be different with the scheduling.

  12. has anyone traveled from USA to Philippines the last couple days? My wife has informed me that once you land at the airport they are testing everyone for covid-19.

My concern is I have a connecting flight from Manila to Davao the same day.
will they be doing testing in Davao instead of Manila just because I have a connecting flight??
So has anyone had any connecting flight from Manila to Cebu, mindano, and Davao etc. ?
    What was the procedure ??
