  1. Hello everyone! This is a very uncomfortable topic but I have exhausted all resources and asked many people and I still do not have a definite answer. So I am the US Citizen, my husband is the beneficiary. (Cuban). We married in November 2018 and filed AOS right away. At this point, our marriage is a living nightmare. I’ve asked him plenty of times to move out but he refuses to because he doesn’t have anyone in PA and wants to go forward with immigration process. I do not. I’ve asked lawyers that have told me I would have to wait a year of being married before I file for divorce since it will be considered contested. This is fine; but what do I do in the mean time? How do I get him to leave? Should I contact USCIS and let them know of the situation? He just received his employment authorization card. If you’re familiar with PA laws please advise.

  2. I filed my I129F petition for my fiancé who’s a Cuban national. Because interviews were being conducted in Bogota, I entered Bogota as the US embassy location for our interview. However- we just found out that all cases will be processed to the US embassy in Guyana. But we want to try and have our interview in Dominican Republic.

Does anyone know how I can request to transfer our case once approved from the US embassy in Bogota to the US embassy in Dominican Republic? I think it might be automatically transferred once it’s approved and sent to the NVC.. but is there any specific request? My fiancé and I are already working on applying for a visa for him to travel to the Dominican Republic.

Any information or ideas will be highly appreciated!

  3. I haven’t began my process yet, I’m going to send our fiancé petition in January. It’s so unfair that this is happening to all of you. I’ll be going through the same, hoping that I can choose an embassy instead of it being automatically transferred to Colombia. It’s a huge inconvenience, and so discouraging, to have to pay even more money and not being sure of what decision they’re going to take. Does anyone know what does the Cuban resident need to obtain a visa to travel to Colombia ?

  4. I just finished reading that the interviews for immigrant visas for Cubans will be held at the US embassy in Bogota, Colombia. This means that any petitions for K1 or CR1 will be transferred to that embassy. Not only am I heart broken and confused . But I’m so upset because I just don’t understand how does the US government believe a Cuban who earns $30 a Month, can afford a trip to Colombia? And to top it off you need A VISA to travel there? I mean isn’t this automatic denial ? They’re just violating the 1994 agreement to let AtleaSt 20,000 Cubans enter the US per year. And now they’re settimg is up for failure. Why not just work with the Swiss embassy and open the interest section again? Why make the Cuba beneficiary who makes $30 a month and cant get a visa to go to Colombia , “travel” all the way over there? They’re expecting to send letters to existing petitions that were approved on how to handle it , but this is so not fair. You’re humiliating one of the poorest countries in the world.

I ask that someone answer me or atleast give me some advice because I’m about to lose my mind.

  5. Hello everyone, I need some advice. I'm in the process of getting divorced to my former husband whom came through a K1 visa in 2012 when I petitioned for him. In my city it takes 90 days for the dirvoce to be effective but I want to know how long should I wait to begin new petition for my new boyfriend after the divorced has been finalized? And the second question is can this cause any problems? I'm a little worried that because I petitioned for someone in the past it might give room for questions. My previous relationship didn't work out however, my former husband is An amazing father to our daughter. Any genuine advice will be great.

    Thank you,
