  4. gogo, did you see the RFE? how did you pay the fees? are they asking for the civil documents? "I NEED TO KNOW" I am waiting for the police report, but I am still not sure about the instructions. Thanks, Mike & Yizhen

Call NVC and they may help some. When you do call or anytime get the agent's name and possible ID # for future reference.

  5. I deal with people like this from time to time, but I try to avoid them. They always think they know what they are talking about, but usually, they don't. The reason for their ignorance is that few people can hear, while they're busy talking.

Yes, I did file the entire K1, AOS, AP, EAD, etc packages by myself. My wife went to the interview and signed on the dotted lines. That was our arrangement.

Is there an "ignore" function on this board?

pushbrk is one of the most knowledgable people around here and other boards regarding immigration, especially from China. Putting him on ignore closes a pretty big door. Just try to take it less personally. Just my two cents.

so what he's still a ####### and if the door closes, there is many more @ CFL.

What documents are acceptable as proof of identity and foreign status?

IRS has streamlined the number of documents the agency will accept as proof of identity to obtain an ITIN. There are now 13 acceptable documents.

An original, or a certified or notarized copy, of an UNEXPIRED passport is the only document that is accepted for both identity and foreign status.

I recieved a letter from the IRS in Sept. 2007 that for a foriegn spouse I must submit a valid passport. Some of those acceptable ID's in the instructions do not apply for foreigners. They did reject a certified copy of her passport from DFW office in the Philippines. Here is the number for ITIN information 215-516-4846. I hope this will help.

I got same letter for rejection and called that # and was told to just send in copy of bio page notarized here in the states. My spouse now has ITIN and we did file joint tax return. Oh yeah, good luck in trying to cash check since your spouse has to sign the refund check also and has to be present when trying to cash or you just have a joint bank account to deposit it in.

  8. Add another 4 weeks at least, if no mistakes to be really done w/ NVC. DS230 needs to be reviewed and if that is done along along w/I864, you get message "Case Complete and wait 8 more weeks for further instructions". Then you will get a message of case transfer to Guangzhou (NVC out) then you are really done w/ NVC process.

  9. One week ago when i called NVC the automatic message said: "NVC is expecting return of the biographic forms by the petitioner... which is probably the generation of DS-230 forms...(i didnt sent them yet because i am still gathering documents )..but when i called today i got a different message : The NVC has reviewed the packet of forms and they found document missing or incomplete and they mailed the petitionar a letter indicating what documents was missing or incomplete ..

Does anybody know what this message means? Once i found out that they are waiting for the biographic forms I thought everything was fine with the documents i sent in .. .....I wonder if the letter is an RFE ..

    Thank you

    .............................

I just want to update the situation regarding my previous message..

For everyone who get the same message as above i just wanted u to know that the automatic message NVC reffered to was indeed for missing DS-230.form..i just got the papers today..so my worries are over now..no RFE!

    Good luck to everyone!

    Good to hear amalitta

ktm made a good point about the word "financial" being in the auto-message for an RFE on the I-864, I had forgotten that.

    Anyway congrats and onward!

I only knew because of the mistake on my household total and that was how NVC told me to total it. yeah, it was wrong and then RFE. Call them back and was told to use different total. that time I got operator and supervisor's name and wrote a note on RFE sheet saying this is how these people told me to fill out I864. Total seemed wrong but case complete.

  10. Hi, would someone help me with this? My fiance is waiting for interview at Guangzhou consulate for K1 visa however he does not have a birth certificate. He never received a birth certificate. Would there be any problems at the interview? What can he do? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hope this helps:

Hello everybody, as you can see in the title, I am your China Visa Guide now!!

I found this forum by random search on google. if you have any question, please ask!!

    Ok,

I'd like to attend the interview with my wife at the Embassy. Do I need to make any special arrangements to do that?

haha, somehow it feels like you are testing me or something.

but before I answer you, can you be a little more specific about your question.

you are going to the China Embassy in the U.S?

Or you are going to The U.S Embassy in P.R.C?

Sorry about the delay I was too busying with other stuff.

Though I can just come here at least once a day and check everything out.

    Worse, I was baiting you.

My wife has already arrived from China on a K3 visa as anyone can clearly see from my timeline. Furthermore, neither the China Embassy in the US or the US Embassy in China conducts interviews related to fiance or spouse related visas for Chinese Citizens to come to the USA.

All CR1 and K visas for PRC Citizens are applied for at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. All interviews for those visas are held in Guangzhou as well. The US Citizen Petitioners are not allowed to attend the interviews.

Why do you think you can be of assistance, if you aren't aware of these simple facts?

  11. They are for sure missing your "DS-230". How I know is because I am in the same step as of right now!!!

I'm not trying to be argumentative, it probably is for the DS-230 - however

I don't think you can say it is 'for sure' - the message for a REAL RFE is exactly the same, how do we know she isn't getting an RFE for an I-864 she has already submitted?

I just don't like people being comforted by information like this only to turn around and find out they are getting an RFE for a correction.

well I know it is not for I864, because I got an RFE for I864 (recently) and the automated message will say The NVC has reviewed the packet of Financial forms and they found document missing or incomplete and they mailed the petitioner a letter indicating what documents was missing or incomplete ..

  12. Hello

    Amalia

Yeah, it' s an RFE for the DS230 which you include a copy of the passport bio page.

  13. Our application DS230 was submittied early Dec. I called operator at NVC today and they told me the document is completed. However, the case is in an administrative process now and they dont know how long it takes.

I am really worried, as this could take a really long long time......

Does anyone know what is the administrative process about? The operator said don't take it as a negative thing. But for sure this means our case will sit at NVC for an unpredicted period of time.

One reason I think may cause the check is maybe I lost my passport before with US visa stamps on. Now I have a new passport with different number.

Anyone have an idea or have such experience before? I feel so sad as our application has suffered so much trouble all the time.

Just call NVC automated line, it should say case complete and wait up to 8 weeks for further instructions.

  14. Can you please tell me where this statement is? I don't recall anything like it on the documents I have seen thus far. thanks!

    quote name='trailmix' date='Dec 3 2007, 01:36 PM' post='1379175']

I already started a topic about this in the IR1 forum but wanted to put a quick note in here.

Just for all of you that have all of your DS-230 forms and documents ready to drop in the mail - Dave mentioned in another thread that NVC is now requiring that you send a photocopy of each document as well:

    Document Requirements

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

I just sent in DS-230 CR1/CR2 and in IV instructions and did not need to send in any of this. Maybe cause it is CR case. Also case complete on both 12/5-12/6

  15. Good morning all;

I mailed off the IV fee bill and it was delivered to NVC and Mike's dad sent in the I-864 and USPS showed that it was delivered but After checking the system every night I never received any message that it was received nor entered into the system.

Last night I called again and received the following message. What does that mean? We never submitted any documents except the IV bill and AOS.

NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found info missing or incomplete. NVC mailed a letter on 11/29/2007 indicating what doc missing or incomplete. Please return the missing info to the NVC in and allow 6-8 weeks for review and you will be notified of the results????? :help::help:

Not to worry. They are waiting for your DS230.

  16. My question is about Police Records.

My wife who is Chinese and will interview at the Guanghzou Consulate worked in Dubai U.A.E and got her police certificate before she left for good in 9/2006. I heard that this may be expired (1 year) by the time she gets interview sometime in 2008.

I saw this at this website:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3698.html

    Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

So, my question what should she do if the V.O. wants a new police record or if they are aware of this statement from http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3698.html ?
