    My husband applied for an expedite for our interview date Senegal 🇸🇳 embassy approves it. NVC forward the case the Senegal 🇸🇳 embassy on the 18 off June up till now no responsed from them yet and the case show ready on CEAC if u call them they will tell u we have to wait and it going on 2 months on the 18 and they said there normal time for interview is 4 months. And my husband is very sick 🤒 I don’t really understand what is there problem just to fix an interview date takes them forever to do as right now I don’t know what to do then to wait for there email for us to choose the interview date

    I am sorry to hear you’re going through this. It surprises me you have to wait this long. On 7/11 NVC sent me an email that the embassy accepted my expedite. 7/13 received email that my case documents were in transit to Senegal. I sent the embassy an email the same day to ask how soon we can schedule an interview. I received an automated response from them about waiting until they contacted me. To my surprise, the embassy sent an email on 7/17  with the instructions to set up my husband’s appointment. The earliest available appointment was 7/24. I don’t know why they are taking so long with yours.

    So we just submitted our supporting documentation to the NVC today via snail mail (the only option I’m told with the Guangzhou consulate).

    the attorney told me the NVC turn around time for review is typically two months. I thought it was running much faster? I have been seeing two to three weeks on this forum.  Is the two months because we can’t submit our documents electronically? Or due to this consulate in china? Very conservative lawyer?

    Does anyone else have experience for NVC review of mailed in documents?

    I sent mine in today through mail. Hopefully it’s faster than what your lawyer said 😊

    On the travel.state.gov website for supporting documents, it says:

    Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

    You are more than 16 years old;

    The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

    You still live in the country that issued the certificate.
    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the reply. Very helpful. Looks like we will be getting a new police certificate.

    Sent to DOS: April 12

    The status on my USCIS account still says sent to DOS. I called NVC to find out if they recieved my case and the man said give us up to 6 weeks to receive your case!? It’s been 1 month since it was sent to NVC. I’m confused. Is there anyone else whose documents were sent on April 12?

    NVC received mine on April 11. I was told it will take 8 weeks before I get a case number.
