No this will not be a problem. My husband had ZERO shot records from Guatemala. He did have one where he received the D-Tap/T-Dap here in St. Louis at the ER when he had hurt his knee, but they didn't pay any attention to it and just gave it to him anyways. The physician will go over what shots he needs according to his age and medical history. My husband is 24, very healthy, and those were the ones he needed. Everyone we have known personally has had no shot records and it was never a problem. There will be an annotation on his visa when he gets it at the bottom that says 212 g 2 b (I think!!) and that simply means he has an incomplete vaccination record, but that the physician waived certain vaccinations. Will not be a problem with entry into the US. I saw my husbands when I was scrutinizing his visa and googled it. Pretty common. Just wanted you to be prepared if you saw it :)

Hubby didn't have any Guatemala records either. Shouldn't be a problem.

My husband just stated the same as Jrenoj. Around $400 (USD). He had to have 4 shots (MMR, D-Tap or T-Dap...I forget which, varicella, and flu shot). He had the chicken pox but I guess because there was no medical record they gave it to him anyways? We literally have TWO pictures of my husband as a child and wouldn't you know, one of those two is when he had chicken pox! However we knew a picture would not be any kind of proof so we just went with it :)

Hubby had med exam yesterday. Paid $280, got 2 shots. Agreed, be prepared for long day. His appt. was at 9. Left doc's office 2:30pm. Results ready today. He went to Dr. Cazali as well.

He had physical in February and went to travel clinic last week before he flew down. He got some shots there and brought records with him.

They probably just said that , when I did the appt they said if it was an early appt could get results that day maybe there booked.

Also my husband only needed 3 shots (he's 26) the rest of them had a code that said he was past the age that required them it would've been 4 but he had varicella already (chicken pox?)

and yes yes you'll need DPI to get the policiacos and penales he got both the same day but he was there super early and a line was already outside so be sure to get there early.

And as for the. Birth certificate (with the pictures) that didn't take long either.

Great! Hopefully can have same day. One less trip. My MIL has his dpi so she will go get police records, just one less thing to do.

Oh great, will we be able to wait until we have the dpi to get our interview date or will stuff expire, do you know? Also I have heard he could use the reciept of the dpi with the number on it to get his documents needed? Do you know if that is true. Also thank you for your advice it helps a lot!

Interview appointment not dependant on DPI, so process will move along even if you don't have it. Just need receipt page to get police docs. LMK if you have any other questions. Stressful process!

My husband does not have his dpi, but he called chicago and they will issue him one there and it is only about 5 hours from us. He has a cedula. Also he has a renap bc but its from 2014 when we started this process and I think it has to be less then a year old if I am not mistaken?

Yes, definitely has to be the new one. His won't have a picture yet since he doesn't have dpi, but that's ok. They will accept.

As for dpi, he can apply at consul but they won't actually issue it. All docs are sent to Guatemala and it's issued there. Then shipped back to consul. I would recommend making appt as soon as possible as it can take several months to get. Hubby applied in December at Maryland consul. There was some problem in Guatemala where they weren't printing DPIs. Finally got printed in July but they said they don't mail them back to consul until they have 6-7,000 IDs! Luckily they let his mother pick it up in Guatemala city this week. Otherwise would still be waiting and he's headed there Saturday.  His friend went to the NY consul in February and got his couple weeks ago. Might be faster now, they said they have a 'new' printing machine, but better to get ahead of it. All other docs they'll ask you for you will be able to get here (except for police records).

You guys are making me feel better about the whole situation. My husband and I have been going throught the process for almost 4 yrs but last week we just recieved our i601a approval. We have a meeting with our attorney on oct.2 to find out whats next. We are super nervous after reading all the documents he needs, I can't attend with him as we have three children and can't afford it. Was it hard to get the police certificate and med exams? How long were you and your husbands separated? Any tips would help! Our attorney is the hardest person to get in contact with :(

You'll need an updated birth cert for him with picture.

He'll need DPI to get police certs. After you submit everything to NVC and your case is closed, usually within 11 weeks (can be less), you'll receive instructions for med exam. I just scheduled hubby's yesterday for next Monday.

    Hey guys,

CC Sept 12th, received an email today to say our case is waiting in queue awaiting interview scheduling in my home country. What is the process from now? Can we call NVC to get an interview date or do we call the US embassy in my home country? Are we still awaiting the P4?

NVC will notify you once interview is scheduled. You will receive P4 (interview letter) once it is scheduled. You can also call NVC to check if you have a date yet, but I believe they usually schedule last/first few days of month or mid-month.

You can check spreadsheet to see estimated time based on your country.

I agree with the above! My husband did have to come back that Monday (appt was 9/1) to get his vaccines and dr report because they were busy but was not a big deal. He called to make his appt the day after we got our interview notice. Appointment was 9/1 and interview was 9/11.

Thank you! Exam 9/25. They told me he will have to go back to pick up results 2 days later.

He got the medical exam scheduled without issues I did it over email , but you can call as well.

They will send you some papers via email  that husband will need to complete and take with him.

My my husband got his results that same day but only because the appointment was very early the lady at the medical dr said the earlier the appointment the more likely he was to get results that same day.

Also so he will have to pay for medical exam and the X-rays we thought it was all together but they are not and of course if any shots are needed. My husband got only 3 shots (he told them he had already gotten Variecella so they didn't put that one)

i scheduled the appointment about 4 days before he left to Guatemala .

Thanks! Scheduled appt. yesterday, told them we were just notified of interview date over the weekend and they told me to pick any day for exam. He's bringing extra cash for X-rays & shots as you mentioned.

Thank you both!  Very helpful. Will call doc tomorrow morning. Excited & nervous at same time.

i really hope we get it in 4bsd !

I got out CC 8/2/17 (exactly 11wks from docs being sent to NVC) & on 8/7/17 we got our email with the interview date.  We received it by mail around week of 8/14

So finally got to ask my husband what questions were asked. We had an approved 601A

First date of entry , did he ever leave after initial entry he said yes (for the interview) . The consular asked who was petioning for him he said my wife , he then asked where and when did we meet, how many children we had , marriage certificate original and original (new version) of birth certificate.

he did say at first he was worried because he had taken the passport pictures with his glasses on and we didn't know they didn't want them like that thankfully they accepted the ones the attorney had previously sent.

He said all and all they were really nice and friendly and out of all the people he saw only two ladies were denied because of missing docs.

    hope this helps someone .

Remember try not to be nervous and make sure hubby/wife remembers those important dates (you may get asked different questions but better to be over prepared)

also i found in other forums that visas take 2-3 business days , however they told him 2 wks praying it's sooner ! We miss him

    Thanks for info and congrats!!!

CONGRATS!!!  I just got the approval call as well!!!!!! And the two week news 😞 but maybe they are just saying that to cover themselves in case it takes longer?

I was driving my work car and had to pull over somewhere because I was screaming, laughing and crying at the same time LOL I'm so happy for you all and I know what a relief this is!

My husband answered questions about our marriage and about a car accident he had when he was 16 years old but other than that it was mostly about our marriage.

    CONGRATS AND BEST WISHES!

    Yay!!! Congrats!! 🎉
