  1. your annulment is very expensive..i paid not more than 60thousnad i think its 40thousand package...

HI, EVERYONE! NID SOME HELP! im palnning to file an annulment tis yr. but but dont know wer can i get a lawyer na mura lang maningil pero magaling. im in laguna ryt now.

My 'wife' petitioned in May 2008 and she is just finishing in the next 2-3 months, according to Hipolito Sanez, the attorney in Manila. She was married to her first cousin 10 years ago and left him one year after they were married. I married her in June 2006 but our marriage was invalid, since she did not tell me that she was already married. She told me that she did not tell me because she loves me and did not want me to leave her. Since then we have had a son, and he is 11 months old now. As soon as her annulment is finished, I plan to do a K-1 visa. This has been very difficult for both of us, including our son, but just keep the faith. It will all work out. I paid Sanez 68,000 pisos, and the psychiatrist wants 15,000 for the report. I'll pay that this coming month. Sanez is a good lawyer--up front and honest.

  2. We are in Manila now getting ready for interview Tuesday!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

Goodluck! you will sure get the visa!

Yes, we pray that everyone gets a visa with no problems this week (and everyone to come). This process sometimes makes a person a little crazy, I'm having lots of difficulty sleeping and concentrating on work, etc. Good luck everybody!

  3. We plan on a small ceremony, hopefully at a local, very old Catholic Church. The larger full wedding will take place down the road, in PI with her friends and family. :D

Good luck to Luz! And to everyone interviewing February 13th, hopefully my fiancee can save everyone a little good luck from February 12th!

Thanks for the wishes, and great luck on the 12th!

    Gary

  4. To Richard&Maria and garya: The 13th of February will be a lucky day for all of us. My wife is feeling the nervousness today, but she says she is going to Quiapo early morning Tuesday to pray the rosary before the interview. I told her there is no reason to be nervous--I love her and our love for each other will overcome any obstacles...I pray that all of us are blessed this week. God bless all of you and good luck on Tuesday the 13th--

  5. (6). The DELBROS website is within my signature. DELBROS is the company responsible for delivering the beneficiary’s Visa and POE information. The DELBROS delivery fee is paid subsequent to the beneficiary’s visa interview at the Manila Embassy. Per the Manila Embassy website, the current delivery fee/time is as follows:

    * Metro Manila Areas, 135 Philippine Pesos, Delivered one (1) to three (3) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier

    * Provincial Key Cities (ex. Cebu City, Davao City, etc.) 165 Philippine Pesos; Delivered three (3) to five (5) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier

    * Outside Provincial Key Cities, (ex. Capiz, Leyte, Bukidnon, etc.), Cost depends on area/location, Delivered five (5) to seven (7) business days after release of visaed passport to the courier

NOTE: Per the DELBROS staff, the Manila Embassy can take as much as three (3) business days to release the visa and POE package, which is NOT included in the deliver times above. You may also call the Manila Embassy, dial 0 for the operator, and ask for Delbros, after the visa is approve, to acquire about the status of your visa delivery.

(8). The I-94 Arrival / Departure Record form is within my signature. Foreigners (beneficiaries) complete the I-94 and the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer stamps the applicant’s visa and the arrival and departure portions of the I-94 at the Port of Entry (POE) when entering the States. The CBP Officer will keep the arrival portion and staple the departure portion of the I-94 to your visa where they stamped the beneficiaries arrival date. You will need this for the Adjustment of Status process. NOTE: Even though it’s simple, I have supplied this so you will know what it looks like and what is required to be filled out.

FINAL NOTE: The red text indicates the recent updates/chages. Please let me know if there are any suggestions. I have also correlated the numbers above to my signature below.

    Hi Sheriff:

I like this so far. Would you consider putting the instructions as to how to track the delivery of the visa when Delbros gets it? I know you use the MNL200xxxxxxx but is it "01" after that number, or are there variations? Thanks,

    Gary

  6. I apologize if this has already been talked about before, but I'd like to know who here was able to have the beneficiary purchase their plane tickets in the Philippines?

I am hoping to have Jinky purchase her plane ticket through a travel agent the day after her interview.

I remember someone posted earlier that if your fiancee purchases the tickets, the travel agent will ask to see her Visa.

If that is the case, how are we able to purchase plan tickets far enough in advance to get the cheapest tickets available?

In our case, I purchased the plane ticket in advance thru PAL and Jhen picked it up from the Ticketing Office (where she paid the travel tax). However, she could only pick up the ticket after receipt of the visa. I am not aware of how the travel agencies handle ticket purchases in the Phil.

    Cheers!!!

    Sheriff Uling

Thanks, Sheriff! I was hoping to save from paying the extra tax. :)

There are two unavoidable taxes. The travel tax of 1620 PHP for domestic and business flights, and the airport tax/fee of 520 PHP that is paid before the traveler reaches customs at the airport.

    Hello,

My wife is buying her ticket Friday so I'll let you know what happens. She already reserved the ticket at Northwest without a visa, so I'm not sure but we will see if they sell it to her Friday. Thanks,

    Gary

My wife bought her ticket at Makati Northwest Airlines office yesterday. She had copy of her passport (original I hope is now at the Embassy with her medical results). She said they only had a few tickets left for Feb 22 departure, and she has a bunch of stops (Honolulu, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Charlotte) before she gets here Feb 23 afternoon. But, she was able to purchase and obtain the ticket FYI others who have their spouses/fiancees purchasing tickets in the Phils. The Phil. taxes were included in the fare, 750.00, excepting the 550 piso tax she pays at the airport.

  7. I saw somewhere on this forum that St. Luke staff may take my fiancee's passport? Should they hold on to it? Well she get it back when she goes in for the interview at the embassy? I would appreciate a quick response. Her medical exam is tomorrow.

Yes, they took my wife's passport on the first day of the medical and sent it and results to the embassy. She had to go back second day for immunizations and to get x ray copy. Just keep copy of her passport to go to interview.

Oh another question is that her DS 157 will be machine stamp when she pays the VISA fee right? Its likely she will be given a stamped blank DS 157. I assume she can pay the VISA fee anytime before the interview (she does not have to before medical). Aloha again for all of your help!

My wife went to Iloilo branch-they had her go to internet cafe fill out and print online, then they took that one stamped with receipt. Others say they get different results at different locations.

  9. Updating list to welcome Kim Tung and to add interview date of dims1. Congrats, dims1!!!

Amerikano, call the NVC!!! They may have scheduled the CR-1 interview for your wife too. At any rate, during K3 interview, your wife should ask consul if the physical file for CR is already at the embassy. She can opt to interview for CR-1 instead and abandon K3.

Thanks so much for the note--On the CR-1 the case is not yet complete at NVC (had an RFE on my wife's security clearance from working in Jordan). So I am counting on the K3 to bring Marivic to me, then do an AOS here. As long as she is here with me that's the only thing that matters. Thanks for the note, PW, and I want to say you are a great help to all of us.

    Gary

  10.:dance: GOT OUR INTERVIEW DATE!!!

Except according to the website the physical date and the interview date ARE THE SAME!!

    Any ideas? :help:

Here is what the website says:

    Case Number: mnl2006775xxx

    Visa Classification: CR1

St. Luke's Appointment Date: Monday, March 19, 2007 (12:00:00 AM)

Embassy Appointment Date: Monday, March 19, 2007 (6:30:00 AM)

I tried calling NVC but their line is always busy. Amd when I call ext.5184 at the embassy, it is always busy!!

    Any ideas????????

    Mike

Congrats, Mike! I would keep calling, but also, St. Luke's appointments seem to uniformly be one week before the interview on the packet 4 cover sheets. Sheriff Uling and others advocate for an early medical appointment in case of (God forbid) some medical problem which needs a solution (he and others recommend one month before or 2 weeks at least before interview). My wife is at her medical now, she's been there since 4:30 this morning and still not done, and she was scheduled for Feb. 6 medical, Feb 13th interview, so one week. Anyway, I'd keep calling. Again, congrats!

DO WE NEED A 2006 TAX FOR MARCH INTERVIEW???

The 2006 taxes are not even due until April 17th this year, so the only tax transcripts you can obtain are 2005 transcripts from the IRS. Maybe the post to which you are referring held a typo. We have the 2005 transcript prepared for the K3 interview next week. I'm not a lawyer, thank God, but I am pretty sure March interviewees are ok with 2005 tax returns/transcripts, since '06 returns are not even due until April 17.

  11. Our first date was after two years online. We were to be married June 18th, and so she met me at the airport with her brother and uncle. Haha we all went to the catholic center in Manila to stay the night, and we were able to get in a few nice secret kisses...then uncle and brother wanted to eat so we went out. We talked about witches that were supposed to be in the Visayas...things I had read about online before I went. We talked about odd experiences that had happened in the Philippines...ghosts, healers (I met one who used tuba leaves for healing and watched her heal a young boy), and other odd things. We talked for hours and hours and became quite close. All the while I wished I could kiss my soon-to-be-wife again, but did not happen til brother and uncle left us later the next day...memorable, and wonderful first date.

    Gary

Our first date: he met me in Atlanta. He decided that he wanted to go see Underground Atlanta, so we walked through there, window shopping. Had our fortunes read by the world's worst fake psychic EVER. She was so not convincing. I felt bad for her though. Every time she made a "prediction" to my fiance, he would deny it .... No, I don't have a twin brother, No, I never lived in Africa. She kept going on and on, trying to get him to agree to something. I finally whispered to him just to smile and fake it, "Wow, that is amazing, how do you KNOW that?" just so we could get the hell out of there! BTW, she had asked for 10 dollar upfront "because sometimes the people leave before they pay". Gee, really? imagine that! It was funny though and a good story for us to tell.

After that, we had Krystal's for dinner. (What can I say, we were tired and it was easy). I actually love Krystal's, but the downside of that is that he used to try to get me to eat there ALL the time because it was OUR SPECIAL PLACE :)

  12. God bless all of you who have March dates! Congratulations and good luck...we all know how much this means after the long wait. There really is a light at the end...

  13. Hi,

Our interview and medical showed up online Dec. 18 for the Feb list. I was over in Manila with my wife for Christmas and we just decided to go to an internet cafe and there it was. So at least our experience was the 18th the new lists came out. I have browsed other timelines and found that some March dates are listed. But you know, what I've read from other posts is that they don't always show up online and they had to call. I pray that you all get notifications for March--good luck!

    Gary

I hope u are right about the posting this afternoon. They need to do it soon for the March Interviews so the medical can be done at the end of Feb. You are obviously more experienced at this than we are. What time of the month do they normally post it? My understanding was they posted about the middle of the month. Also will they post for one month or two months at a time?

    Thanks for the response, Dean

  14. Hi Gary. Thanks.

But I thought you already have an interview schedule?

From your timeline, it seems that NVC has completed your case?

My dad worked in Saudi Arabia before (jeddah and jubail). It would also be impossible for him to get a police clearance......him being not a resident or Saudi national.

I hope we won't have have a problem.

Yes, we have an interview scheduled for the K3 nonimmigrant track--I was hoping to get the CR1 done in time that the file would be over at the embassy so we could do the immigrant visa instead. It doesn't look like that will happen now, though, so we will adjust status here in the US if all things go well (we pray). I don't think you'll have any problem with the clearance.

  15. Dear Randynrose, :)

I am presently waiting for my DS 230 to be generated.

I thought I was prepared. But then I found out from the posts that NVC requires NBI/Police clearances from Filipino Applicants.

I was originally thinking that this would only be needed during the interview.

I called my parents today telling them that I need their NBI/Police clearance ASAP They each need about 8 police clearances. Wow, that's gonna take long.

I was hoping if you could let me view the exact DS 230 package, as you offered to Mark. My personal email address is maryrose_angels@yahoo.com.

I would appreciate so much. I only know about the Birth/marriage certificates.

I sent my I-864 forms (using the new versions) w/o waiting for the actual I-864 instructions. But I was nervous.......

Thanks so much, Randyrose,,,,,,and again, beautiful Poem :star: x 5!

If you would like to make sure that I'm a safe person, I'll give you the info you need. Or please just cover the names/barcodes/case numbers from your DS 230 for your privacy.

    Sincerely,

    FRANCEL

    (F)

I received an RFE from NVC on the CR1 (full of acronyms today)...my wife worked in Jordan as an OFW for 2 yrs and NVC asked us for a police clearance there. I had e-mailed the US Embassy back in August when we were gathering documents and USE replied that police certificates are unavailable to non-resident foreigners and that my wife did not need a clearance. Anyway, I am sending the US Embassy Immigrant Visa Unit's response to the NVC and will see if the response of one branch of the state department will satisfy the request of another branch of the state department. Meanwhile, our K3 interview is set for Feb 13 and I am hoping that the USE doesn't change its mind and require a police clearance from a country where one can't get one. Sometimes I wonder.......

Francel I am so sorry you have to get all those police clearances--

  18. The poor man's hotel: My wife and I always stay at a cheap hotel at the Catholic Center (the late Cardinal Sin's place) when in Manila. Think it's called the Peus. Twin beds-have mattress (we sleep together on one), cold water only in CR, aircon, a few mosquitoes, walk downstairs and out the door and go to mass in the square. Have interesting talking birds in a large pen. Fairly safe place for us in daytime-around the corner from the Manila Police Station. If you are used to staying in the provinces and sleeping on wood beds with the mosquitoes keeping you awake at night, and you are money-conscious, this is a decent place. Internet cafe and 7-Eleven, McDonald's, ChowKing, Wendy's, and Jollibee in close walking distance, and jeepneys heading to embassy/St. Luke's all very close. I think it's 400 or 500 pisos a head per night.

    Yeah!

Thanks for the fax number. Is this the main fax number at the USE? Is there another fax number that goes directly into the K1 department for interview requests? I just want to be sure to fax the letter to the right number with as little chance as possible for it getting "lost in the shuffle".

    Rob,

The fax number and the all the requirements are listed in the links below. Please read carefully and follow instructions closely as any incomplete information will result in non-action by embassy.

  20. I've sent in my DS230, so now just waiting for NVC to review and send over to Manila (quickly I hope). James should be commended for his shortcuts. Meanwhile, the K3 visa track I hope is fast; the new interview dates should be coming out the middle of this month, I hope. I'm going to visit my wife in Western Visayas Dec. 13-31, so I hope we hear something while I'm over there. Good luck to the rest of you, and have a great holiday season.

    God Bless,

    Gary
