I got my NOA1 on October 23, 2006. Checked my email today and saw an NOA2 for November 1, 2006. Vermont SC took 8 days to process my case. I am amazed.
Don't hate me. I'm not bragging, but just getting some hope out there to those who at least may be sending to VSC. They are on top of their game there.
I add that I feel as if I assembled my packet pretty well and included the extra information like the birth certificate of the beneficiary (and translation), name change documentation, and my passport AND BC (scanned color copies). I leaned to the "extra information" side of the debate within the forum of whether less is more. I sent them everything that I could get a hold of. My fiance's mother was very helpful in retrieving extra docuements for me from her local govt. office, so I was lucky in a sense. I also organized it with color-coded paper clips and color coded tabs at the bottom of the pages. Maybe my quick approval had nothing to do with this and I was just lucky! Regardless, still have the second part to deal with, so the "journey" is not over.
Thanks to all for your input up to this point.

Hello,
Just a quick two questions about this thread:
We got asked for additional information (aka 2nd RFE), they just wanted photos and my passport photoThey wanted the passport photo of the beneficiary?? Is this another common RFE for information they don't tell you to include in the original submission (like the birth certificate of the beneficiary)?
If so, hypothetically, what if the beneficiary doesn't have a passport yet?
When my fiance sent in the information for the 2nd RFE I think he forgot to put our names on the back of the photos of us together but they are datedAre the passport size photos supposed to be dated? The I-129F instructions says to include the name on the back, but is the date necessary? I do realize they are supposed to have been taken within 30 days, but should this be specified on the back? Anybody include only the Names OR Dates and had problems?
Thank you.

I learned this from a legal book from NOLO "Fiancé & Marriage Visas: A Couple's Guide to U.S. Immigration"
Thanks for the reference to the book. Sounds solid enough to me. I just was wondering how we knew this to be true. Also, I'm sure the example here has been successfully replicated with no problem.
I'll be re-printing with the box empty.

Maybe a little overly ####### to ask this, but why not?
On the example form of the I-129F here on visajourney:
http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-129F.pdf
The box for certificate number under question 10 says:
(ONLY complete for naturalization certificate)
I have check marked "Birth in the US". Well, I already printed my form and have input the "file number" of my birth certificate, date, and place of issue in the box. Is this OK? Should I remove it? I am including a scan image of my birth certificate anyways. Anyone get in any trouble for having the BC number in this box?
Also, it would seem to me that only answering it for a naturalization certificate has been learned through experience as I can not find anywhere in the forms where it says to include the number only for a naturalization certificate. If I hadn't seen the example form, I would think I have followed the instructions. Sorry if I am being a bit too #######. Maybe it doesn't matter. Thanks.

So Vermont is processing I-129F's also? If so, is there any current advantage to Vermont or California SC?

Yodrak,
I am a sole US citizen by birth and have been since birth. Is there anyway I could have an alien registration number? And my fiance has never applied to the US for any type of visa or been to the US, so is there any way she could have one? I am assuming that neither of us have one, but is there anything I could be forgetting? I do apologize for claiming it would be obvious. After thought, I would think a USC could have one if they once were an alien.
Does "N/A" and "none" mean the same thing? I have "N/A" on my G-325A and "none" on hers. I just figured that made more sense, but I just don't want an RFE, so maybe I just should make them consistent.
Thank you for the tips.

Thank you so much. I didnt see that section!

Hi,
I just have a question about the black box at the bottom of the G-325A that is preceded by:
"APPLICANT: Be sure to put your name and alien registration number in the box below"
As the USC, Do I put only my name here on my G-325A? I am the USC, so obviously I don't have an alien registration number, so what do I put "N/A" or "none"?
For my Fiance who doesnt have a alien registration number, do I also just put her name only as the applicant on her G-325A?
I searched for this but I think I'm just an idiot, so maybe noone has asked before. Thank you!

Hi,
Has anyone here sent in scanned images of their passport, birth certificate, etc as opposed to simple black and white copies? I have scanned my passport pages and laser printed the images on paper. It all looks fine and much more legible than a black and white copy, but I just wanted to hear if anyone has had previous luck or problems with this. I have a lot of stamps that are real good supporting evidence so I wanted all the print to be legible in color.
Also, above all the images I wrote the following:
I, (name), affirm that the passport image shown below is an unaltered copy of the original.
Then I signed and dated each page below that statement. I thought i read recently that the passport copies needed to be signed. Is this correct and even if they don't need to be signed, would it hurt having my signature above and separate from the images?
I also plan on sending in a black and white copy of my passport without signatures as well. What does everyone think? Sound OK?

First, I don't want to hijack the thread and lose Bill's question about the A number. I too am interested in getting the medical performed ASAP.
My next question is about the police certificate. Is it absolutely necessary to deliver the paperwork for the application in person at Patumwan, Bangkok? I am not in Bangkok and really do not want to have to make a special trip to Bangkok to simply hand this paperwork over the counter. I didn't see the option to mail on the website of the police "Special Branch", and it seems that "in person" is the only option. Anyone know how a Thai national residing in Thailand can get this certificate without going to Bangkok?
