  1. She can get go with that route that it was marked by mistake, but here is the correction.

If I was in your place I would tell the CO this even before they start the interview and get to that section of family member in US.

Thanks Harsh :) we already contacted the customer service. we adviced to make a new ds 160 and bring the new confirmation number during her interview. :)

  2. It upto the CO how they take it and how your mom has answered the question.

The question is do you have any immediate relative in US and their status in US. If she has marked it down as none, then that could create problem.

Middlename is nothing to worry about and CO would not much care about it as lot of ppl in world dont have a middle name.

If you remember on your ealier post I had clearly told you ask your mom not to hide anything from CO, be honest with CO and they are more friendly and helpful.

Can she tell the mistake that she accidentally marked NO?! She will tell the truth anyway no matter what decision they will make. I just dont want that affect my petition to her in the future. At least she didnt lie it's just that marked really bothers me :(

  3. I am not sure once the form has been submitted you can make any changes to the form.

She can prob get it corrected during interview, she can tell the CO at the interview that she made a mistake.

So it's not going to be a misrepresentation if she tells the CO about the mistake during the interview right? I also found at that there's another error my mom made. She also forgot to put her middle name. She left it blank. I know it sounds stupid but my mom filled out the form by herself and she just learned using the computer recently.

  4. Not being truthful (lying) on the forms and/or to the consular officer can have serious consequences. The worst being a ban on entry to the US. This could be considered a material misrepresentation.

It seems that the only course of action is for her to correct her form at the start of the interview by informing the interviewing officer about the mistake.

Thanks! I guess at least she will tell the truth that she has family here in the US even she gets denied to approved.

  5. I badly needed an advice guys. My parent is applying for a tourist visa. She was invited by her friend to come to the US, my mother already have sll thr documents needed. Ok, initially i adviced my mother not to tell that she got a daughter here in the US so she have a chance of getting s visa (that's an advice from my friend) now i realized that is wrong for not telling to the consul because i know that might affect when i petition her. So I told to my mom when she gets her interview just tell her that she has a daughter here in the US. But the problem right now, my mom already submitted her ds 160 online and she put NO in the section if she has family and relatives. Her interview will be on August 3rd. Is there a way to change that section on here ds 160 before her interview???? thanks guys

  6. From your post it looks you are looking to commit a visa fraud.

Never ever lie to CO or to officer at POE, everything you say is recorded. I can tell you from personal experience, they had in system what I had told them 10 yrs back.

If your mom does not tell on her form where it clearly ask to put down all immediate relative – it could be considered material misrepresentation. Which can result in lifetime ban.

I am thinking that too. I knew when my husband petition me i had my philippine address and of course my mother's name in there so they can check from there system right? they can see that my mom is related to me when they check that in the system when she get interview? isnt it?

  7. I have another concern. My friend told me that my mom should not put in the application that she has a daughter in the US, because most CO deny the application, telling to just wait for their kids to petition them. But I haven't applied to citizen yet since i do not have a job right now (focus taking care of my son until he gets to school) so i cant petition her yet. My mother just want to grab the opportunity to come here through her friends invitation who's willing to cover her expenses. & She wants to see the kind of life here in the US before she decides to finally live here in the future.

Now, let's say she is able to get her tourist visa right now & I could petition her right now?! So for the interview of her immigrant visa. Can the CO see that she applied a tourist visa before and she failed to put my name in the application? Would it possible that her immigrant visa get deny??

  8. If your mother has had a steady job for 30 years, why can't she cover her own expenses? It's best if she can qualify on her own.

Working in the government in the Philippines is not enough to save up money, that only covers daily expenses in the Family. She may have probably at least 60k pesos ($1,500 approx) in her bank account and that's it.

  9. My mom wants to come here as a tourist visa, unfortunately, i couldn't support her financially to cover all her expenses. So she got a friend who is very willing to help her to come her. So her friend sends a letter of invitation, income tax, and also letter to the consulate stating that she is willing to support my mom financially while she's on vacation in the US. My mom haven't been out of the country, so she hasn't any stamped in her passport. She has been working in the government for almost 30 years. & She already filed her leave just for 3 months. We do not have enough income but we own a house. Now my question is, is it possible for her to get a tourist visa? since there's a friend who is willing to support her while she's here and her strong ties to the country since she works in the government for almost 30 yrs?

  10. Hi! I have the same question too! My mom is planning to visit me here too for holiday! She's already 53 yrs old. She is kinda hesitant to apply for visa. Im afraid to say that she doesn't have much money in the bank, in fact i am the one sends money to her but still i feel it isn't enough. But she works for the Government for 30 yrs, i have a 12 yr old sister who is so much depending on her, we have the title of our house that shows it is fully paid but it's under my dad's name. Somebody told me that if you work in the government (in the philippines) there is a chance that your visa gets approved. My other question is, does it really necessary to have a letter of invitation from me, or from my husband? if so, do we really need to attached any proof of income, payslips, or bank statements together with that invitation? I do not have a job right now but my husband works for the government here in the US.

  11. Hi Guys! I haven't been in this forum for a while. Well, I am planning to file my citizenship this January & eventually i want to petition my mom. My question is, I have a 12 yr old sister who is depending to my mom. Just wondering since my sister is a minor, can she come together with my mom here in the US the same time? My mom told me, she has a coworker petitioned by her parents, she's single with a child and she was able to bring her child here in the US.

  12. Hello Everyone,

Our Baby boy is 2 month old, and we're planning to take him to see his grand parents outside the U.S. when he's about 1 year old. Just want to plan things ahead so we're wondering when we can apply a passport for him.

We only have the hospital version of certificate now. And the birth clerk at the hospital told us to wait until the child is 3 month old then go to our county record agency(she gave us the address) to obtain a copy of official birth certificate.

It's our first child so we don't have any experience about this... :innocent: Anyway, so do we have to wait until we have this official birth certificate to apply for the passport? Or can we use the hospital record? How long does it take for the county or city to issue the certificate? And how long does it take to get a passport once we have the certificate? Can anyone share your knowledge with us? Thanks a lot.

    Happy Holidays everyone:

  13. Why did USEM denied the K1 if the annulment already granted prior to filing of the petition in USCIS?

What was the consul's reason for denying the K1 visa?

probably due to the conflict that when they got married while the wife's previous marriage wasnt annulled yet. then their marriage was considered null and void BUT they filed annullment for their own marriage which also i dont quite get why they had to do that since it's orginally void?! i believe the (stupid) lawyer advice him to show to the USEM that they annulled their own marriage just to erase everything and start over as k1...

  14. that's what i am thinking. it wouldnt help eventhough he talk to the consulate in USE in manila. And I believe the lawyer he hires isnt knowledgeable enough for this situation. cuz he talked to his lawyer again after the visa denial and lawyer seemed like dont know what to answer his concern and advice him to try to go back to manila and talk to USE or re-file again..

  15. I just want to help my friend about his situation. I feel it is kinda complicated situation for him. Well, my friend is already a U.S citizen and recently petitioned his wife and his kid and got denied. To make this long story short.... His wife had a previous marriage and has 1 kid when he met his wife, when they already have kid, they decided to marry but at that time his wife previous marriage wasn't annulled yet. So their wedding is considered void or null. So he decided to file k1 for his wife instead k3 visa as his lawyer advice. Before my friend processed the petition for his wife for k1 visa, they worked on wife's previous marriage to finally annulled and their wedding as void. My friend spent too much money to hire a lawyer just to make sure that his wife could get here as k1 visa. Time came, and wife already interviewed at the U.S embassy and they denied my friends petition as K1. and worse thing is, USE is already decided to return the petition here in the U.S. I felt pity for both of them, i really don't know what advice should i give them. My friend is goin back to philippines on sept 22nd to talk to USE in manila and hoping that he could stop them to return their papers back here in U.S and rectify the main reason of denial. Is there anybody can help or advice my friend how to handle this situation?! thanks to everyone in advance!

  16. i really hate PHILPOST! I remember i even had an argument with them at their office. My hubby sent gift for me, it's a lipstick and blush on for my birthday. So he thought it was kinda small, he added 3 bottles of multi vitamins in it for my parents. HE sent thru first class so i would received sooner. I kept waiting for almost 1week then the guy from post office just gave me a slip and told me to go to their office to pick up my package. It sounds unusual for me cuz that was not the first time that my hubby sent me stuff thru PHILPOST! When me and my mom came there, I was sooo shocked that i had to pay Php 1,650!!! Of course for me it was soo UNFAIR!!!I felt like, i was paying for my GIFTS?! What the hell?! and I implied that it was a gift for me from my husband and it's not that fancy at all! And THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME that i have to pay for the tax for my package?! I was even sarcastic to them, cuz they were kept explaining that all IMPORTED GOODS are subject to tax??! and I was like, HOW COME JUST NOW????? and they got mad at me almost yelled at me that atleast im lucky enough that i didnt pay for my previous packages??! Then I started to get more irritated!!! I ASKED THEM, SO WHERE THESE MONEY THAT WE PAY FOR THE TAX GOING TO?! and their BIG BOSS entered and said that I AM BASTOS!!!! I dont have respect???? :protest: And I let my mom talked to them and i walked out and said to them that I AM NOT GOING PAY any single pesos and just send back the package to the US!!! I even showed my WALLET and wanted to throw to the BOSS'es face! :diablo: hahahaa! Well, well, well, at the end of the day!!! They gave up and I ENDED UP paying NOTHING!!!! :jest:

  17. hey girl, i didnt know u are arriving here soon in the US?! i just knew it from ARIS! langya ka! di ka na nag paalam ata sa iba? anyway, I am soooo HAPPY for YOU!!!! Long wait is over and u're finally here! And advance CONGRATS to ur wedding with MIKE!!!! message me soon and ill give u my number so we could talk! Miss YAH!!! mwuah ^_^

  18. You are very lucky and congratulations! I was in the same situation before. My hubby was still a student at that time and our sponsor was his mom. I initially got denied too! On the day of my interview, they told me that my hubby and his family cant afford to bring me the US yet cuz the income that they've presented wasnt enough. So they denied me as likely become a public charge. Even though, I insisted my hubby's familys assets, like the fully paid house. But they didnt consider it too! I went out the embassy on that day crying! i thought i had to go through to another new applications/petition. In my case, my hubby had to find work immedietly so we could present his income. So after 3months i went back to embassy. And we submitted all the docs that we could present, after 3weeks i got my visa without another or second interview. That was the only time i felt so relief. Good Luck on your journey and God Bless!

We both went to the interview last Wednesday 18th and as I guessed it, arrogant americans working there. At the first interview I am sure the lady decided to deny the visa within the first minute as she turned the light on for the next person almost immediately after Bing entered the room. I do not have enough income.

Sure enough at window 36 another lady called our number and announced that we were denied the visa because Bing would become a public charge... I stepped up to the plate and told her of assets and house etc, she announced the papers were irrelevant without a deed, etc etc etc. I insisted she forward the information to someone in a higher position and she did.

Window 33 a man called Bings name and we both went there. I again explained that I have assets in excess of whats needed, he asked if anyone asked to review the documents and I told him None asked. I produced more documents, bank deposits, house statements etc and he added things up and was still in question until he asked a knowledgeable Filipino man that clearly said that I have adequate funds and to reverse the denial in the computer.

The funny thing about it all is since it was decided at the first interview a denial, the rest of the paperwork was not looked at closely. I suppose it would have been reviewed when the visa denial was contested sometime in the future but since it was contested the same day it was not. The I-134 was not signed, employer letter not reviewed, paperwork not looked into. Only thing reviewed during the day after the first interview was bank statements and house statement and tax bill.... The man looked like he was embarrassed that he was unsure how to proceed with a case such as ours.

Low income and no co-sponsor... no biggie. I knew this would be an issue that Bing alone would not know how to contest and planned to fly for the interview. 3 weeks notice made it hard to get things in order but I did. Too bad none of it was looked at LOL

All that is needed is the stamp indicating PDOS was completed (not open today) and we are good to go back to the US on Thursday... What a hectic few weeks we have both been through. I am glad this is almost completed after all this time.

  19. hi all

this is maribel, i have a quick question and i hope someone can help me/us out. once we get the MNL # from the NVC, how do we set up the early physical? do we need something from the NVC or will a printout suffice or what?

we are very excited upon getting our noa2 and would like to avoid any and all delays possible so please help....thank q! :help:

hey girl how are u?! i miss chatting with you! anyway, once u approved to nvc.. nvc will forward ur case to u.s embassy. probably it will take 3weeks for nvc to send ur case to u.s embassy. and u will received a packet 3. it's just a notice from USE that ur case is in now with them and indicates ur MNL case number. and in my case, it took a month when i finally received the packet 4 (after packt 3) that's ur schedule for interview and medical. then u can now do ur early medical just present ur packet 4. or in some vj members didnt get their packet 4 on time, u can also check ur case number to USE website - just enter ur case number. and u can call st lukes that u already seen ur interview date and medical sched online, you can ask st lukes if u can get ur packet 4 from them and do early medical. i think some people did.

  20. Congratulations!

Just curious. What "Resident Since" date do you have on your GC? Did they place the date you got approved (January) or the date they ordered the card to be produced?

    Hi There,

They placed "the date we got approved (January)" NOT "the date they ordered the card to be produced (April)." And we just went to the social security Administration to get the New Card without "DHS authorization..." thing :)

Thank you for your sweet thought
