Thanks, I'd try to remain calm. Hope you didn't have to print communication between yourself and your Dad (like whatsapp chat/call records).
Lol, I did all that oh. I spent a lot of money printing loads of documents, yet non of them was requested. Really funny. With that been said, do go prepared cause you'll never know what will be asked of you. If you have kids, remember to go with their vaccination records and birth certificates. A guy was refused and told to come back cause of that.

Oh that's true. Would be looking forward to your message. My interview is coming up, and I'm also under F1 category
Oh thats sounds good, hopefully its 2-3 days.
Awww, really good to see another F1. We are few on here on VJ. Dont be too nervous, mine went smoother and quicker than I imagined. Just have your medical and police reports on point, and be ready to speak about your petitioning parent. Best of luck. Cheers!

How does it take to receive your passport from the embassy in Lagos ? Considering everything went well.
The last person who answered this question in the past said 2 working days. I guess we normally get told 10 working days in order to include any unforseen problems. So I am hoping for 2-3 working days as usual.

Thanks. You know its the christmas week coming ahead, so I'm not expecting it until after the holidays. I'll still let you know how many working days it took all the same. Cheers and Good luck.

Interview concluded.
Visa Approved.
Lagos Nigeria.
I was scheduled for 6:30am, and I was pretty much done at 9am. Interview lasted about 2 mins.
Questions asked were:
Whos filing for you?
Ans: My Dad.
Tell me about your dad, like what does he do?
How long has he been in the US?
How often do you talk to him?
What medium do you guys use to communicate?
When last was he in Nigeria?
Visa was granted afterwards. No document was checked.
Finally, my 7 year wait is over. Wow
Thank God.

Yes, I collected it on Thursday. The notification for collection came from DHL on Wednesday. From what I read on the CEAC wbsite, visas are ready in two business days all things being equal. Good luck !
Congrats... How many days did yours take, and what embassy did you get interviewed?

Well I don't know what kinda Visa you applied for, but I think it was clearly stated that IV documents can only be collected from Lagos.

Hi All,
I have question regarding police certificate. I been in UK for almost 5 year and i do have police certificate from there but i took it last year in November and left UK in December and never went back. now would you guys be able to tell me if i need new certificate from UK as it has been a year now and NVC want us to get a new one if older one is more than year old. please help.
You were still in the UK when you got it, and its over a year old now. Technically, you will have to get a new one. If you had gotten it after you left the UK, it would have been a whole different thing altogether. With that being said, you left the UK just one month after you got your police cert, you might be pardoned depending on who interviews you. Just make sure you get the police cert for the country where you currently reside, and explain to him/her that you no longer reside in the UK. BUT, if it won't be too much hassle, do get yourself another UK police cert just to be on the safe side.

That sucks! I guess I have a long way to go then. Do you know why it is taking so long?
I believe Mexico has more visa applicants than available interview slots, hence the backlog. But just hold on tight, you will get an interview date soon. The most important thing is you have a CC. An interview date will always come. Just take the time to adequately prepare for the interview before it comes.

Unfortunately I was refused a visa because of "lack of recent photos" to prove the relationship between the petitioner and I. Keep in mind that I did have some photos of the petitioner in the US.
I have been asked to submit those.
Wonders never cease.
Awww! Sorry about that. I believe all will be well as soon as you get those photos. What embassy did you get interviewed?

I got a case complete on the 13th of oct via phone call. I am still waiting for the email confirmation. Although I am F1, the process appear similar. I am hoping soon for an interview date in Lagos. I have a particular question to ask Nigerians here who have gone through the interview stage. Is DHL required for collection? In other words, is it possible to go back to the embassy and collect your passport when its ready?

I sent my complete documents to the NVC on the 24th of April, but didn't get a feedback after 14 weeks. I called, only to be told that they could only find my civil documents. It sounded strange cause I sent everything in one package. Now my case is being forwarded to a supervisor for a review which could take another 6 weeks. Now here is my question, should I just wait until 6 weeks, or send in another batch of my documents? I need help here please from anyone who has had such an experience. Thanks in advance.
