  1. Is that all there is too it? I mean I make pretty good money but we are also taking care of medical Bill's for her sibblings back home. On top of that daycare and all the other stuff. She's an unskilled worker and is trying to get work doing house cleaning or homecare. Trying to do this the right way but these damn delays are killing us.

  2. I called USCIS they are sending me request for expedited service info. I'm to provide document showing "Significant financial distress"

    1. What's the timeline to receive EAD after documents have been submitted

    2. What kind of documents are good "proof" of financial distress? I was going to send in bank statements that show overdrafts, proof of cash loans taken out, and a clear statement with out monthly Bill's (rent, electric, phone, internet, car, insurance, daycare etc).

I'll do some more searching but am very interested to hearing from folks with first hand experience.

  3. I never recieved an original copy of my i- 797 for my wifes visa. I called them and they said they would put in a ticket but said its doubtful they will replace it for free. What are some things that can help bolster my case? I cant another 465 on top of the AOS fees for a copy.... death by razor blade cuts it seems... sheesh

Yes. As long as it's current (within one year) and checked complete it can be used.

We found her records and she only has immunization. I recall they need that and tb? Is there a request i can do to st joseph in manila to get the complete record or do we send copies or certified copys or originals of her immunization? Damn this whole process is making life difficult.

  5. I'm just now starting my wife's AOS paperwork and I just noticed that you needed W2 as proof of income I was disabled and was only receiving SSI and militaryretirement at was in the Philippines during tax season and did not do my taxes I know I'm a terrible person but I would like to know is if I can turn in stuff from my current job i e pay stubs and a letter or if I need to retroactively do my taxes to satisfy the AOS requirements.

  6. I believe that I was not very clear as to the reaasons of wanting to reschedule, when they wrote back they simply said the father does not need to be present for the interview, but the real reason is fiscal. I wrote them again and its within the 10 days still.

It doesnt cost anything to resubmit but Im just scared that we will run into some messed up situation like we did when we had to reschedule my fiances interview because she had an extra thing to do with the medical.

Once a k1 is granted is there like a time limit on it? when does it have to be used by?

  7. Hello,

I was in Manila for about 2 months while getting my Fiance visa done. We finally finished and said it was approved roughly 2 weeks ago. I was under the impression my son would simply travel under k2 status but they informed me that I need to do a CRBA/ PASSPORT. I was disappointed and my funds were almost depleted so what I  I filled out my sons CRBA packet and sent my fiance back to her province in Mindanao while I went back to America to make some more cash. 2 days after getting back to the US they said our apointment was in 9 days.  I wrote them asked to reschedule and I think they misunderstood why i was asking for rescheduling. Can anyone give me a better way of getting a hold of someone in order to re-schedule CRBA?

  8. I appreciate the answer have you had any experience with something like this like what I'm afraid of is if we say hey she's taking diazepam to help treat anxiety for plane ride then they will order a psych eval or worst yet they will say no you can't go you have drugs in your system although the last one would seem to not be a problem because she does have a prescription for it it's just quite worrisome to think of anything that could put the Visa and danger I was going to give that slec a call once they open

My Fiancee is just a few hundred miles from the town where the ISIS supporters took over.

The USCIS will take your request but doubtful they will grant it.

Mindanao is still relatively safe unless she happens to be living in Marawi.

Your fiancee is much more likely to be involved in a motor accident than a terrorist incident.

Please let us know how the request plays out.

There are literally HUNDREDS of fiancee's on Mindanao who's petitioners are awaiting NOA 2.

I'm actually heading to that region in just a few weeks. Not Marawi city of course.

I was in sasarangani when Martial Law was declared, didn't feel that much different and yes where we stay is relatively safe but they had some people plant some bombs in a public area. The bombs were reported by good Intel sources and the bomb maker and accomplices were escorted off this earth ala Philippines justice style.

Hi, before I start a new thread I wanted to know how can I tell if my expedite was processed? Does the below mean anything? Or am I supposed to wait for the official reply?

On August 3, 2017, your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxxxxxxxxxxx, was assigned to an officer for response.

So once your expedited process was approved how long was it till they approved everything amd you were able to do mwdical and interview? Is there anything I can do to help improve my chances of getting expedited service? They asked me if I was a service member which I found a little odd, hopefully that helps or I will canvas Sen. McCain to help me.
