Good idea on getting your state Senators involved. Who are they?
This is how I got my EAD expedited, with the help of Senator Bob Casey's office. Took about two weeks.
Senator Dianne Feinstein. I have emailed/faxed and mailed letters to them as well as my local congresswoman.
what did you send to your senators office?
prayers please!!!

It will not restart if it is for your I-485. It will tho if it's for your EAD/AP.
Since yours is for the I-485, timeline will not restart.
I am getting the congresswoman and senator involved now because they received my evidence nad are now saying it will take about 6-9 months for my case to be processed. THERE IS NO WAY I AM WAITING THAT LONG!! I have a pending job offer and the sole person bringing in an income. This is absurd. I have lost patience and getting so frustrated.

How was your process? mine still waiting
SO DUMB AND SO SLOW! Basically they sent me another RFE but it's identical to the first one. I mailed my stuff last week, UPS delivered it today so let's see fingers crossed they receive it today and update my csae status online. I would suggest putting in a service request or even making an InfoPass appt to find out what's going in person.

For the EAD/AP, once you get an RFE, the timeline 'restarts'. It means you are back again to counting from Day 1.
I hope your I-485 gets updated tho, as you wouldn't really need the EAD/AP anymore if you have your greencard.
Is the RFE for your EAD/AP or is it for your I-485?
No, the officer today said it won't "restart". it is put on hold because the whole case is processed together. The RFE is for my I-485

i am now just wondering how long this will take to go through..hopefully not another 4 months
and yes, i made copies of my entire package so re-sending that along with new copies and i have clipped them. thanks for your help!

Yes, it happens. That's why it is always a good idea to keep a duplicate of the WHOLE PACKET. If the officer loses some of the docs, he wouldn't admit to it nor look for it, he would issue an RFE to the applicant.
Also it helps that the documents are secured, not necessarily stapled but clipped, before putting them in the envelope. There is less possibility of losing the docs if the packet is organized.
I am glad that it worked out well for you. Best of luck on the rest of your journey.

No. AOS is different from EAD and AP.
AOS and AP's processing time depends on the workload of the office handling your case. On the other hand, EAD should get an update by the 90th day. At least that's what the rep told me.
Even if you get an RFE on AOS, that does not affect the EAD/AP processing time as they are not the same application.
I just came back from the Infopass appt I had. They told me that my whole case is on hold because all of these forms were filed together at once. Once I submit my RFE request, they will start up again.
Also found out that the RFE they requested is the EXACT same things they wanted last time and it seemed like USCIS messed up and they didnt "file or receive it" correctly. Now they have misplaced my tax forms and other confidential important information and I have to re-mail it and wait for them to update. The officer helping me was so nice and helpful today and I'm so glad I went or else I would have been waiting around forever.

I'm very sorry. If it is RF Initial Evidence then the process starts from zero once they get the response. If it is RF Additional Evidence then it will only get paused. I am hoping you don't struggle Financial and in either case can still wait a little longer without hardships. But if you do consider getting a lawyers advice. It's also a good idea to make a lawyer go through all the paperwork that was filed and your responses to rfes to ensure you won't get a third one.
it says request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, so let's see what happens! i just want to get my EAD and AP as soon as possible. OR at least get a status update. they have only posted on the website that "my case was received Apr 28, 2017..."

This is brutal. Do you have any idea why second RFE so late? Did you have a lawyer file your paperwork? If yourself, do you think you missed a form? Also was your case "under review" when you got a recent second RFE?
Im so sorry! I wish this to no one. Had one Rfe myself and was destroyed emotionally by the wait. I pray to not receive another one. I was confident, prepared and filed myself but after RFE idk if may be hiring a lawyer is a guarantee that the process is smoother.
I wish you all the best! Hopefully this RFE won't restart everything but just put a pause on the process.
NO IDEA why the RFE is so late. I've called so many times to put in a service request and they don't do so. They said everything is within processing times. And no, didn't use a lawyer. My sister and family went through this process years back and it didn't take them this long so I just assumed since I am a Canadian citizen, got married and changed status, it wouldn't be this brutal.

What is the RFE for? Is it for AOS or EAD/AP? If it is for EAD/AP, the timeline restarts and you're back to 0.
it looks like its for AOS. but i dont get why i'm not getting an update on my EAD/AP. does the entire case get put on hold because of AOS

Thank you so much ladyblondie! You should definitely hear good news this week. VisaJourney timeline prediction was right on! It seems people around our dates are getting good news!!!
Best of luck to you too, and you might be surprised when you check your mailbox because sometime they don't update the online status straight away.
my VJ timeline wasn't correct. haha. i checked today, nothing! losing patience but hopefully soon!

Hey guys! I just checked my mail box and I found two letters from USCIS. It's the approval notices for EAD and AP. The letters are dated 08/17/2017. The weird thing is that I received the letters before the online status change. But my online status changed to New card is being produced just a couple of minutes ago!!
I am so happy
It's been a nice day today, watching the eclipse and receiving approval notices on the same day
SO LUCKY and SO HAPPY for you! Those are just around my dates as well so I am hoping to get something soon because nothing has been updated

No more 90 days process 😥
Try to make a service request on the website. So they can follow up your case if your case is longer than usual processing time.
It wont let me! I called today and she said they are processing as of March 2nd. On the website, it says April 1! NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE. I was able to put in a service request for my EAD and it let me. However, it's the same time frame given as the AP processing times.

Hello Dolce!
Today I reached 121 days, noup 😅😅😅😅😅 I have not gotten it yet
SAME! I am in the same boat. It's reaching 110 days for me since they received my case and over 60 days since my biometric appt.
this is absurd at how long they are taking! i might try to put in a service request but i don't think the customer service folks are helpful.
-
update: still no update on my AP or EAD. my VJ timeline was estimating it to be done by Aug 9 but it seems like that's not the case. the USCIS website has updated as of Aug 10 and they are working on April 1 applications.
The patience game is wearing off for me..at this point I am going to stop checking!

I filed on the 13th of March 2017 and received my AP/EAD card on the 26th June 2017, which means it took 106 days. (I know a little earlier than this thread but maybe it's still helpful?)
What's annoying me so much though is that they still didn't update my USCIS status on their website: it still states "My case was received" and for my Green Card: "Fingerprints Fee has been received", even though I already had my biometrics appointment.
Hope you're receiving yours soon!
thanks for the response! did you feel your VJ timeline was accurate when they gave you expected dates?

Hi there. Having the same issues. Filed on 11th April and have raised a service request for my EAD where the answer was my case is under review. I also have a job offer pending and have had to delay my start date 3 times now.
I was finally put through to the tier 2 customer service (to speak to an immigration officer). They informed me that my EAD was approved last Friday and that I should receive my card this week. However, instead I received a NOA stating that whilst my EAD has been approved, so has my green card and that I now need to wait for that. Not sure what to expect now or when but I have another service request raised that has been expedited and I should have an answer on Monday.
But yeah, looks like they are facing a big backlog.
wow! they didn't update the website to notify you it got approved? they are definitely not helping and I don't really have a case to expedite or raise a service request..I tried but it's mostly me just being impatient at this point! when my sister did hers, she got her AP in less than 3 months!

Yes, it's based on VJ users' data. USCIS's processing charts are about 2 months out of date at the time they are posted (check the "...as of" date on the charts), and updated monthly.
thanks for the response! i've been checking the Visa Journey charts more than I have the USCIS site at this point!
-
i am wondering how the visa journey timelines work. it says they are processing apr 18 AP's but on the USCIS it says march 2. is this based on people posting and their approvals?

Hi there
It looks like USCIS is behind on processing APs and EADs. I applied at the beginning of April, got no news for 90 days, then I put in a Service Request and an Expedited Request and also reached out to my congressman to ask for fair consideration of the expedited request. I finally got a notice of "new card is being produced" for my EAD last Friday - that is 106 days after my application was registered with USCIS. Right now you should expect longer processing times but it never hurts putting in a Service Request for them to check your case – it could help. Worst that can happen is they don't get back to you - but it won't delay your card any longer. Good luck!
hi- what was your reasoning behind the service request? i tried submitting one but they said i need to show extreme hardship or someone being sick and they didn't help me much after that.
