  1. For ROC we sent photos, even doubles of the ones we initially sent for AOS (photos from our wedding). We sent vacation photos and photos of us with my family when we went to visit AFTER my AOS was approved. We went with the 'I'd rather send more than enough, then not enough' method :)

We also did what cyclone27 did, made notes by each photo. Marking the location, occasion and the date of each photo

  2. Have people been approved with zero notification? Meaning they only got the approval letter in the mail, but their status was not changed online and they were not sent e-mail/text notifications?

I'm kind of worried I'll be sent an RFE, but I can't say for certain. It's been so long, that I barely remember everything that was sent. I know we sent a lot - probably more than we needed too. Would I have received one by now though?

I know a family friend (Divorce waiver case) who had his case pending since March last year and he received a notice to get his biometrics done before they could process his case any further..I posted a link from the USCIS website that I came across while researching since I filed in July last year. You can choose to completely ignore the post..no worries:)

When did your friend get a request for finger prints?

How many people here have been asked to go to a second Biometrics appointment? I don't recall any, but I could have missed some. CSC is behind by 15 months, so asking all of those applicants to retake fingerprints alongside new applicants seems a bit overwhelming to the system. I have no idea though

Edited: Can someone add me to the CSC list, please? 07/27/16 ----07/29/16 ----10/11/16, waiting for approval

    Thanks!

I agree with Lemon23, I spoke to Immigration officer today because I changed my address. So it also gave me a chance to check the status of my application which will be 1 year tomorrow. So, he told me CSC is a little slow and I will need to wait for 1.5month more and also, I asked him if I need a stamp and he told me, if I would like to have stamp I can but not necessary if i will not travel out of US or if My employer needs it, other than the two mentioned he told me I should be fine even after expiry and not having my passport stamp.

I don't want to take up space replying to everyone separately, so I'll just put it here. Thank you to everyone who has answered my concerns about the I-551 stamp. I was confused about whether it was required or not, and you've all answered my question - so thank you!

Maybe there are more July filers being approved than we know? Because CSC is moving so slowly that a lot of July filers might be too demoralized to come here to post??LOL:unsure:

I think people are getting approved. It just so happens that the ones being approved aren't members of this board.

I wonder if they got behind because of all the cases transferred to them from VSC?

@mandm411 If you don't have plans to travel internationally or change your job the answer is no, i-551 stamp is for those who want to travel and applying for a new job as a proof of their current status. Even you don't have i-551 stamp you're still LPR. If you're afraid of not having proof of your current status then you can request for i-551 stamp.

    Thanks!

What can be used to prove my current status if I don't get the stamp?

  8. Hi everyone!

First time poster here, but I wanted to ask a quick question:

My NOA is 07/29 but my GC does not expire until 08/06 of this year. Do I *need* an I-551 stamp? Is it required I mean? I have steady employment, I have my SSN and I have a valid California ID that's good until 2022. I have no plans on traveling (even if I got the stamp, I wouldn't travel), so I'm not sure if it's an actual requirement or if it's something you get because you need it for work/travel purposes.

Any help would be appreciated! Good luck to us July filers!
