  1. Thank you for your response!

My father just needs a little time to wind up his existing business in India. My mom & I will be living in the USA from the day we land there.

Once he's completely sure that his associates can handle the business, he will move to the USA too.

Also, how long does it take to receive the immigration visa once we have given the interview? What is the validity of the immigration visas?

Again, thank you for your response :)

  2. Hi!

    Visa category: F3

My grandfather(US citizen) has applied for the green cards of his married daughter, her spouse and their unmarried child (me).

Our immigration visa is in process and we're hoping to get our visas by the end of the year.

However, my father wants to keep his business going in India.

    So, I have a few questions;

    1. How long does it take to get our green card once we arrive at the USA?

    2. Do we have to give an interview at the USA to obtain our green cards?

    3. Does our first visit to USA after obtaining the immigration visa have to be longer? How long ballpark?

    4. How often do we have to travel back and forth to the USA to keep our green card? How long should those visits be?

Also, how long does it take (ballpark) to get a call for the immigration visa interview in the home country (India) after the DS-260 is filed?

And, how long does it take to receive our visas after the interview?

    Please help.

Sorry for the annoyingly long texts & unending questions, just very anxious.

  3. Thank you very much for your reply :)

I called in at the NVC and they said that there is a system error affecting the site right now and that they are in the process of rectifying it.

I checked other threads on the forum and apparently a lot of people are having the same issues.

I have been advised to not wait for the DS-260 and send in my document packets because the draft for IV fees already cleared on 14 July, 2017.

Do you have an estimate as to how much time it takes from submitting the DS-260 to getting an immigration call? A ballpark would be a great help :)

Also, if the CSPA is calculated as the period between filing for Priority petitions and approval of the same, for us, it took about 13.5 months. Does that mean I have 13 months after turning 21 to get my immigration visa? (I am sorry but I have absolutely no knowledge in this area)

    Apologies for the long texts.

Any help is truly greatly appreciated :)

  4. Visa Type: F3

(Grandfather who is a US citizen made a petition for married daughter, her spouse and her kid to obtain green cards at USA)

My draft for IV fees cleared on 14th July, 2017 but it still shows to be 'In process'.

Does that mean I should go ahead and send my documents even without the DS-260?

I am kind of in a hurry with this process as I am turning 21 on October 28, 2017.

They say that a cover sheet with a bar code should be attached to the document packet.. what cover sheet are they talking about?

My grandfather (petitioner) is a US citizen and he is supposed to perform the entire process. But he hasn't received any instruction packet or whatever with a cover sheet. I (Potential immigrant) received a letter from NVC to inform us of the initiation of our immigration process, which had a barcode on it. Is it possible that they are talking about the sheet they sent us (Potential immigrants)?

    Please help.

PS: Sorry for the extremely long messages. Please cope with my anxious curiosity.

  5. My family and I are in the process of obtaining our F3 visa.

The AOS fees have been since the last 12-15 days. It still shows that it is in process. We are waiting to be able to submit our DS-260.

We called NVC to find out that there is a glitch in the system.

The problem is, I am turning 21 on 28 October, 2017 and I am really worried if I wil be able to acquire my immigration visa so that I can land in the USA before 28 October, 2017.

    Do I have a chance?

    Please help.

  6. Hi!

    Visa type: F3

I am from India and my grandfather (US citizen) had applied for our family's green cards in 2001.

We got a letter dated May 17,2017 that the visa processing is to be started, and so we did.

We have already paid the 'Immigration Visa Application Fees' of 325 dollars per person and it shows that it is 'In Process' for the last 12 days.

    I will be turning 21 on October 28, 2017.

I read on the NVC website that if the immigrant is going to turn 21 in the next 60 days, they are to inform the NVC immediately to expedite the process of obtaining our F3 immigration visa. So, I mailed NVC and called their help line too to inform them of our case.

My question here is, how long does it take to acquire the F3 immigration visa once the process is initiated?

Are the odds good for me to be able to land in the USA before turning 21?
