  1. HEY EVERYONE

i need to apologize for not being on here sooner. My interview was scheduled for march 29, but i had to cancel it because my daughters case was so far behind. I didnt want to have to make 2 trips to montreal, for interviews, i wanted them both on the same day, to save us money lol. So we now have new interview date for May 23 at 9:30am.

I am so stressed out about everything that i have been avoiding coming on here because it makes me nervous to read about interviews, denials and problems that people have. My nerves are so bad from going thru this all, i'm sure u know what i mean lol.

I have been trying my best not to think about it, but i'm still terrified. good luck to all!

  2. I was on anti-depresssants when I went to my medical, it was noted on my forms and whatnot, but it never came up at all at my K3 interview.

btw, wean yourself *slowly* off the Paxil, and with your doctors help. That stuff has nasty withdrawl

thank u soo much for posting. knowing someone else who was on anti depressants and having it noted during their medical makes me feel a whloe lot better. phew lol.

i have heard it can be awful withdrawal symptoms. I will definately be talking to my dr about it.

now that i sit and think about it, i bet there is probably alot of people who are going thru the immigration process that are depressed, they shouldnt be surprised after what they make us go thru and how long it takes to get our visas. its horrible having to be away from loved ones for so darn long, and add on top of it, the uncertaintity, knowing that our future is in the hands of complete strangers. lol scarey

  3. Just wanted to say I was one of those who admitted to Anti-Depressant usage in the past (in my case), and the Dr. noted it on my medical, and still made the commen that I was approved on the day of the Medical for the Visa. He did make a note of it in my file, but it never came up at the interview. I'm guessing here, but I assume that when the Panel Dr. recommends a person to get a visa, it's a yes or no thing. In my case the Dr. told me that if anything came up in my blood work or x-ray he would call me directly to let me know that there was a problem (leading me to believe it's a yes or no thing with the medical report). In my very limited experience it won't come up again.

he said the smae thing to me, if anything comes up they will call. he also asked me if he could keep a copy of the letter, he said it was excellent and exactly what he needed. i hope that means its a good thing!

  4. went to dr seiden in toronto this morning for my medical. when i got there, there was a man in the waiting room, and he was chatting with us.

he was there with his daughter, she was applying for a k1 visa.

    heres where it gets interesting.....

he said that her fiance and his family have alot of money, and they were able to "buy" there way thru the visa process. the fiance is somehow related to a governor, and it has only taken 2 months for them to get to this point in the process

then he started with somethin i cannot believe....he said that her visa is already approved and is at the border waiting for her. WHAT?????????

i said does she not have to go to montreal for an interview, he said, ya, she has to go there to talk to some guy there, and then shes going right to the border to pick the visa up(WTH?)

i asked if she already had an appointment for the interview, and he said no, she doesnt have to make one, she can go whenever she wants, as i said, her visa is already at the border ready to be picked up.

i found his story incredibly hard to believe. the part about being related to a governor and having a faster approval is believeable (to me), but the rest i think is horsecrap.

what do u all think? i mean, how can they approve her visa before she even has her medical results? what if she has TB or something else really contagious?

  5. Definitely NOT to worry. This question has been asked several times before, and everyone was approved at their interviews.

Like you stated, the only worry you would have about depression is if you had suicidal tendencies or if you were a threat to the safety of others.

    Good luck at your interview.

omg, thank u so much for the fast response. i was literally feeling sick to my stomache about it worrying. then i started thinking, maybe i shouldnt have told him i was on it, then i thought, no its a good thing i did, because who knows what all they really test for during the bloodwork lol.

i have a way guilty consience(sp?). i can't lie. i always believe honesty is the best policy.

  6. i had my medical this morning, and i admitted to the DR that i take paxil for depression. I showed him a letter from my doctor, which my doctor stated as a result of being separated from her husband, she became depressed and is currently on paxil. he also wrote that my mood has been much better lately and that he believes i will be able to be off the paxil once my immigration process is over.

i believe i could probably start weaning myself off it now, and would be ok, becasue the end is in sight lol.

now the dr who did the medical(it was at dr siedens in toronto), told me that he does have to make note of any psychiatric conditions,as it raises a little red flag, but i should not worry, as i had the note from my doctor which shows a positive prognosis. i asked him if i could be denied a visa because of it, and he said if i was, that i would be the first one he has ever heard of. he also said everyone and their brother is on paxil lol.

but because i am a natural born worrier, i am worried that it will affect my visa. oh, and he also told me that it would only be a concern if i had thoughts of suicide or of hurting others  (which i don't).

Should i be worried? has anyone else here been able to get their visa while having admitted depression during their medical? i am really starting to stress out about it.

  7. Thats great! Congratulations to you both! Would you mind if I asked what number you called to reach the NVC? Did you file via DCF?

    Darryl

    we filed thru california

    the number called was 603-334-0700

  8. lol please dont think of my case as being fast, there has been so many delays, RFE's. We first filed our i 130 in september of 2005-yes 2005!!!!!its been almost a year and a half. in fact, our 2 year wedding anniversry is coming up april 9!

i just booked our medicals for tomorrow morning, because i had already got a ticket to visit my hubby for 4 weeks from feb 26- march 26, so its gonna be a busy month for me!

  9. I just found out mine too, March 29 8:30. i cant believe they scheduled me one, the nightmare is almost over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the lady told me that i will have to attend a seperate interview for my daughter, but i dont even care at this point, i just can't believe its almost here!!

  10. I have a photocopy our Marriage Certificate. Mel will send me a certified copy before my interview. The certificate is just a piece of paper with typed in information. Is that all it is?

The Marriage Certificates in Canada are quite nice. They almost look a diploma.

Is it just the State of Louisiana, or is that what you get in all States?

mines the same, it has our signatures on it, and everything else is typed, and its on legal size paper. its from louisiana too.

  11. I've heard that people have good luck calling at 7:30 in the morning when they first open :)

thats exactly what i'm gonna do loljjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

  12. Ok - So I just called the IVR at the NVC.. It says my CR1 case was forwarded to MTL on February 15, 2007... does that mean they've schedule me an interview ??? Of course tomorrow is a holiday in the US, so NVC won't be open... the wait is going to kill me :)

Anyone know what it means ...

i just called too, and it says the same. i dont know how they can schedule my interview when there is also a case 4 my dauhter, and we recieved a letter askin 4 a notorized note that allows her to move, her dad just did it last week and i havent recieved it to send in yet. im stressed now, because we called nvc last week and they said it would probably be april/may b4 we have an interview, so we bouht a ticket so i can visit hubby 02/26-03/26.

now i dont know should i visit, or stay? lol i still havent done my medical because i have been waitin 4 the letter sayin to do so.

oh the stress. i'll be so happy when this is over and we can start our lives.

  13. well hubby called NVC last night and they told him my case was complete as of February 2. --FINALLY!

I have a question though, im still waiting on the notorized letter from my daughters father saying he gives permission for her to move, so her case is still not complete. Will they still schedule me an interview or will they wait until her case is complete as well? Or will i have to go back for a second interview when they complete her case, anybody know?

  14. Well, hubby recieved a letter today requesting missing information. They want the custody papers (we had sent a copy in when we first sent the I-130, before we knew about VJ) and they also want a notarized letter from my daughters father saying he gives permission for her to immigrate.

why oh why couldnt this have been told to us MONTHS ago? i mean, damm, they recieved our packet 3 on november 13, over 2 months ago, so that means were gonna have to wait at least ANOTHER 2 months for our case to be complete, and another 1-2 months after that for our interview :cry:

just our luck, we have had nothing but delays this entire process, we first sent our I-130 way back in september 2005 for gosh sakes, and its taken over a year to get to this point. i am so frustrated:cry:
