Thanks for you replies! I'm not trying to side step the SLEC process, to be sure. I'm just thinking of ways to make the whole visa process less stressful (meaning no delays as much as possible).
I'm going to schedule an appointment with my pulmonologist tomorrow to start the TB screening process.
just needed to sound off on this very helpful forum.

Hi,
My fiancee just submitted our I-129F. Been lurking around these parts and saw some posts on possible delays relating to the medical exam. I come from the Philippines, and I'm not 100% certain if I'm tuberculosis-free (some relatives and friends of mine got their visa delayed because of the sputum test and whatnot). So I'm guessing this is my way of anticipating potential issues and heading off delays.
My question is, is it a good idea to have myself checked for TB, and if ever I have it, start treatment already? It takes 6 months to medicate it, I read, and that would line up easily with our application in case I have it. What do you think?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I'm reviewing the forms and documents needed for I-129F. It doesn't seem to ask for a lot of information on the beneficiary.
Context is, I am about to finish my PhD from a reputable university here in the Philippines. Will including that in the letter or evidence help with our application? Where can I mention this?
My fiancee and I just want to get this right, the first time, so we're thinking of other pieces of information that will help our application.
Thank you.
