  1. What does it sway on the visa?

Most visas are either one use (usually within a year or issuance) or ten year multi-use.

oh i dont know yet,my friends brother is going in for interview soon. And my friends just wondering---how much time will he have before it expires.

I was thinking about 6,9 or 1 year after issue date, but i was not sure.

thank you for your input! :)

  2. hum...just replying about the manicure set...lol

i brought my pink cuticle remover, nail brush, nipper and pusher with me in my check in luggage and i didnt get in any kind of trouble, and i didnt even hide it or anything, infact i put it in the pocket where it can be easily taken out if they dont want me bringing it. i wasnt sure if they will allow me to or not, thats why i had it in the side pocket of my luggage just in case, but they didnt care...

and am so glad i tried that coz they really dont have the kind of pusher we have back home and thier cuticle remover here,i think it sucks! i tried quiet a few well known brand and i didnt like it...its like a cream...but i also find out that the asian store we do our shopping sometimes carry the pink ones....so try to look for it at the asian store, they might have it.

    note;

i guess as long as you put your manicure set in the check in luggage, they will allow you....as long as its not in the carry-on.

and yeah...am also one of you gurls that have gained weight since i got here....

i dont cook filipino food very often since (cooking is not for me,i guess....its my least favorite thing to do...lol.)

am tiny and now ive gained atleast 7lbs...i dont like it either coz they tend to show up in your belly...it sucks! but what can i say?! i adopted american food real well...no gym! just work and eat.

well...i guess its up to the individual to deal with this fattening foods! its everywhere....buffet...pizza...burgers...fastfood... its hard to avoid.

  3. hello everyone!

    hi...am a non -US citizen and am gonna be applying for removing conditions next week and i just have a few questions;

am wondering where do we get the sworn affidavit forms? my husband argued me about it....he says affidavit means its a legal form of documents and needs to be notarized....i dont know,i just thought of that as a letter from your family or friends swearing that the marriage is legit...and on it they stated thier names and signed it and maybe their address and how they achieve the knowledge about us...(in other hand, their relation to us)...thats what i thought it is....but now am so confused,he wants me to search a documents on USCIS, i tried i couldnt find one( probably bcoz i dont know what am looking for,lol...) so i dont know....

hope somebody here can help me with this...give me a clue on GENERAL INSTRUCTION NO.5

what is that? is it just a letter or do we have to print some kind of form thats from USCIS...and have it signed by our family and friends.

    thanks a lot in advance...

  4. were planning on moving to the philippines as soon as he retired,is this a good idea or bad? how does this work? should we wait till i will be a US citizen so we didnt need a visa for me to be able to get back to USA anytime we want? as what ive heard it would be ok to have a dual citizenship in the Philippines, but am not sure how it works.does anybody here know how exactly this work? thanks in advance...

  5. hello everyone,

weve been married for more than a year now,and were actually planning on moving to the philippines when he retired.

can anyone give us some idea of any website to find some information about a US citizen migrating to the philippines? what are the things he need to do?

i would really be glad to hear from anybody here who have idea about this case,it would really be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!

  6. hello there!

i think you should include it on your AOS packet.

i dont know for sure coz i havent filled one but you said you're planning to travel so i guess you should apply for it with your AOS since we have no idea when you will get your green card.

    goodluck and GOD BLESS!!!

BTW,which part of the philippines you came from? LOL.

    I was from Davao City

  7. we got RFE for the same stuff too....and yes same stuff that we already sent in.

well......in my case,we sent everything they asked for (we sent the same taxes)and even more than what they asked :D coz i was upset so i even sent them more than what they want.....like; i include a copy of my husband pay stubs(for the last 6 months) and photocopy of my state id and health insurance card.LOLOLOLOL :D (though they didnt asked for it) oh well....

we didnt got mail for it or email(coz i didnt make my portfolio for email notification that time yet  ) but instead, a week after that, we got transfer notice....we got transferred to CSC(which is a very good sign) coz part of the notice says "to speed up processing we transfer your case to CSC". and we got approved and got my green card in the mail without interview.

i dont think you need to mention that you sent those stuff already.....just send what they asked for.

everything will be ok, GOD is good all the time!!!!

    hope this answer your question.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!!!!!

  8. hello mdyoung!

thanks for the reply to my questions....i didnt get a hold of the SSA office where we went coz its always busy....oh well,my husband and me will go back there this friday(coz he doesnt have work on fridays) and we will bring the form G-845 with us so that if they still dont have my status in their system,we'll slam this form on their face. :D we'll see!!!:lol::lol:

we sure hope by that time everything will be just fine!!! i got my green card for more than 2 weeks now so maybe it will be ok.

thank you for helping us here, mdyoung!!!( by the way.....where in philippines you were from?

  9. Go back to the office and see the office manager if they will not again accept the application. This is the phone number if you want to try calling to talk to the manager. They open at 9:00 a.m. Don't bother leaving a message. If you can't talk to someone, go into the office.

hum....sorry mdyoung i didnt got the number. the number that the lady gave me was the number of the application support center(i knew it was the application support center of USCIS bcoz ive been there, did my bimotrics) the SSA office was in grand rapis,MICHIGAN.

im really disappointed about this common stuff thats happening when trying to get an SSN.i dont think i should wait any longer to get an SSN bcoz its been 2 weeks since i got my greencard...my husband want me to call coz thats what the lady said but i dont think it would help with this matter.

i really appreciate your reply mdyoung.....thanks!

    Whoops

    Phone: 616-742-2373

    Fax: 616-742-2373

    Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

    thank you very much mdyoung!

i just called USCIS just to satisfy my curiousity and my husband want me to called too.....so i did and it really didnt help(thats what i thought) my case has been approved and got my greencard already so i really thought it wont help calling them.the lady just said i gotta go to uscis.gov website and try an infopass on getting SSN. IT makes me confused even worst.

thanks again mdyoung!!! i will try calling that SSA office now and find out whats going on. i really thought that the lady that handled me that day didnt knew what shes doing.i got everything they need just to give me SSN but still didnt get it. oh well.....im going to call and find out(hope it wont be the same lady that will answer my call....LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! )

  11. in my case,we didnt apply for SSN the time i got here(K1) we waited till i got my greencard, and last NOV.04,i got my greencard in the mail....last friday(NOV.17) we went to our local SSA office but unfortunately after getting all my information(in my green card, passport and completed SS-5 form) the lady said that in thier record it is still my maiden name thats in there and she gave us the immigration number(in where i got my biometrics done) and she said to call them and asked why its still unchange into my married name.(i was really disappointed bcoz we waited for about 13 days to get an SSN and its still not updated :( )!!!

Did the office accept the application? If they didn't which SSA office was this?

The office is still supposed to accept the application and just send the G-845 for manual verification of your status. no....they didnt accept it,thats what irratate me coz we waited, then when our number was called the lady said she will refer us to somebody and just wait for my name to be called then after that we wait and got called again then i hand them my greencard, passport and completed SS-5 form, they get my info's and after that one said that thier record didnt match coz its still my maiden name thats in thier system.so she gave my papers back.

the SSA office was in 50 college SE, GRAND RAPIDS,MICHIGAN this is the closest one where we live.

thanks mdyoung for the reply!!!

what are we supposed to do now? should we called the immigration?(i really doubt calling would help with this case) according to the lady that handled me that day we need to call and asked why its not change to my married name yet....(i wanted to tell her, maybe your the one that supposed to call).(ITS REALLY A BIG BUMMER!!!!! )
