Thank you! Haha, my fiance is from NY so soon Insha'Allah but I have been in US for 4 years in my past for studies so nothing new alhamdulillah.
Applied K1 in March 2017
Interview on November 15th 2017
Issued visa on March 27th 2018
So a full year from filing application to getting the visa issued. I hope it comes in my hand soon.

Jazak'Allah for saying that you are happy for me. So it does say "issued" and that means it has been approved right? I hope I am not being too pessimistic or cautious.

Visa issued! Alhamdulillah. Status changed today.

Passport has been with the embassy since the interview and they have not asked me to submit anything additional yet.
My interview was OK. Not so good, not so bad.

now that's make sense. Thanks......so now your case is under AP...when you had interview done?
No, I was in AP with a Ready status. Now the message is different too. I had my interview on 15th of November, 2017.

Mine chang from ap to AR on 11/7 with cc same date later on change from AR to Ap in 13/7 last year and im still waiting how many updates from the interview till now?
My case has been in AP since November 2017 with a ready status. It changed from READY to APPLICATION RECEIVED on 20th March and now to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING today on 26th march.
According to what I have read, this AP is not the waiting type AP and I will get some result soon. Maybe I am just comforting myself

yes its a good sign, but i got a bit confused on Visa type changed from immigrant to non immigrant. You applied for immigrant visa right?
I applied for K1 visa which is a non immigrant visa with an immigration intent.
It just changed recently after 8 months along with case creation date, status title and status date update.

Just now, Zaib212 said:
so did you update anything to your case because your visa type got changed to non immigrant. ?
Nope. I didn't do anything. I read on other forums that when this happens, it is a good sign and I hope that is true.

Yes, mine updated on 20th march. Case creation date also changed for the first time. Visa type changed from immigrant to non immigrant. Status changed from ready to application received. Today it updated again and application received changed to administrative processing.

thanks, actually consulate staff are also human so i assumes that one of them might have done status change mistakenly. let me share experience so that everybody can have an idea. i requested passport back for brother so first week they were silent and next week told that passport is dispatched. by end of second week passport still not arrived so had follow up with consulate staff again and they told wait for one week more it might be in transit. later week received call from consulate that return your passport as we need to stamp visa, but since passport we never received from them since two weeks so everybody was clueless what is going on. then few days later they told that passport is still here (never dispatched) and will dispatch shortly and you will receive soon. and finally after 3 weeks passport was here without visa. so there was lot of tragedy and drama but in the end same sad story.
What the hell! That is funny. I did travel abroad last month for business and I requested them to return my passport temporarily and it came back in a day.
This time I am a bit hesitant due to change in not just the update date but status date, creation date, type of visa change and the message below also changed.
It says " ... If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application."
I will probably just ask them next week to return it again temporarily.
I got all excited and you burst my bubble of happiness bro 😄😞

hi, not sure is it a good sign or bad in your case; but imho, generally as long as there is some progress (movement) on give case then it is good sign indeed. also, you can request return passport by stating reason (business travel) because it wont hurt your case progression at anytime. just for your information, they might need 15 days to return your passport (as own experienced). so all the best and wish you good luck. hope all your queries are answered.
Thank you for replying and giving your opinion. That makes sense, however, my case has updated like 15 times since my interview on 15th of November, 2017. This time, case creation date also changed along with status update date and the case status also changed from READY to APPLICATION RECEIVED. My visa type also changed from Immigrant to Non-immigrant.

Congratulations to everyone who got the visa issued recently.
My case was updated today and the status changed from 'Ready' after 5 months to 'Application Received'. My "Case created" date was also changed to 20th March 2018. Is this a good sign? I have to travel to China for business in the next month and I need my passport back for that. What should I do? Do I wait few more days or should I email them for temporary passport return? Please advice
Anyone?

seriously! i had interview right after few days.
well i'm suggesting to hire a lawyer before submitting applicant case to US consulate, not after interview.
but thanks for pointing out that there is no use (or not much lawyer can do) after interview in US consulate.
I am saying the same thing. I hired one for the whole process from filing petition to getting the visa in hand and I had interview in a week or so too after submitting and getting NVC.
A lawyer doesn't have the power to expedite your process and even if he did, these cases are not eligible for such requests so we are just waiting now in AP.

bro, may i suggest you (or all) something different! change approach this time; instead hire a legal expert to prepare your upcoming cases before interview to simply avoid AP, though it might cost bucks but eventually might end up saving considerable time, stress and expedite visa processing which is priceless, isn't it? authentic links are below and myself considering to do now, also initial assessment is free so you can consider.
in continuation to my earlier posts in trail above, today renown local news channel reported that attempt thwarted by islamabad along with allies/friends to add Pakistan in the list of banned/watchful countries that they denied to confirm. also in one of above videos a lawyer suggested that wait for 60 days, if still progress not going on then consider to hire legal expert to deal with your immigration matter for expedite processing/response, though there is no independent confirmation but there is no harm to try.
all the best to everyone and i'll keep you posted, wish me luck too and strength to help all, lets go together
There is no expedited processing for these immigration cases. At least, that is what the US immigration department told me and several others. I applied last march and I have been in AP for 3 months now after my interview on November 15th 2017.
I did hire a lawyer for this whole process but unfortunately they cannot do anything and the process cannot be expedited and is at the disposal of US immigration.

you can ask them, what was their response.i think they will ask you to submit your passport again once they are ready to issue you visa
They just said that my request has been acknowledged and they will return the passport and the courier service will let me know when to pick it up.

I need to travel for business so i asked them to return my passport. Is that okay? They will ask me back for it if they approve it right?

Aslam o Alikum
Dear All,
Alhamdulillah and thanks to Allah, yesterday my visa has issued after 9.5 months of administrative processing. InshAllah everybody will get his/her visa soon, Ameen. I have learnt a lot from this website from USCIS to NVC stage and then at interview stage. Me and my wife had filled all forms by using this website.
Consular Officer conducted my interview for 10mins only and at the end of interview, I asked him "is it approved" CO replied "I can't tell you anything" and he issued me administrative processing highlighted page.
Thanks all. May Allah bless you all, Ammen.
Ameen ameen. Mubarak ho!

Why u think everyone got an update at once.. i find that soo wired.. hopefully allah puts some thing good in it. But the question araises why all at once
No idea but alhamdulillah for it. Does anyone know why my status hasn't changed yet? My case got updated 5 times but the status is still stuck on "Ready" (ready for interview) instead of "Administrative Processing".

what response you got from them?
Just a general response that my visa was refused for administrative processing and that they understand that waiting can be frustrating but they cannot expedite it or give me a timeline of how long it will take.
I hope it comes through soon. Been waiting for a long time now.

Most of you are here for IR-1/CR-1 I believe. Has anyone heard any good news for K1 visa? This whole process has been lingering on for almost a year now for me.
