I received my RFE letter yesterday and they are requesting a legible photocopy of the legal termination of marriage of my husband.  Which I did I sent them the copy I got from the court.  Well this morning I went back to the court and got a certified copy and I'm just sending that.  Looks exactly like the same one I sent originally.  I can always go back and get another certified copy.

Omg thank u for letting me know! This info is really important to me because we have a similar case, but we sent the legal termination of the previous married with the "apostille" of the consulate of the country it was given.  I hope they don't ask for the same to us because I don't know what else we could send 😱

About the tourist visa we had applied for it a year before we got married so back in Jan 2016 and i was just wondering since she was denied that visa back in 2016 would it affect our process now, but i was already told that it wont. So now we just have to wait and see how long it takes

People about doing a case inquiry I'm pretty sure it's the same when you try to expedite and they denied your expedite and only delay the case. So if you have been waiting a lot is worthless, is only going to delay the case like happened to Natti.... I saw her post in the Texas service center thread and she's totally right.

I thought about it but then i just decided to call instead and spoke to the tier 2 officer and he just said to wait that it took about 9 months

I think calling them is not a way to push them, they don't work that way, the only thing tier 2 does is giving information you can not see, for example sometimes people is approved, but no update in the system, no mail, and the NOA2 is on the way, so tier 1 can not see that, and you don't know your NOA2 is on the way, so tier 2 can see in their system if the case was already approved or not, so it's the only way they help, calling them just gonna give you more frustration.

    She is from El Salvador

He might have been denied but it wont affect what you are trying to do now, its two different things.

Is not that affect you in the process, and is not they are going to deny the green card because of that, but of course they take a look to know the reason  that person was inadmissible or denied from a visa in a specific time.

Unfortunately Tier 2 officer says the same thing in my case that it is within the normal processing times and they are processing Feb 20th 2017 cases for Potomac but as you can see from this forum people from April are getting approved but they don't listen to that. I need a different answer. It is so frustrating.

They are also approving some may and June filers in Potomac service center. But of course they are going to tell you they are approving the cases of the dates they posted on the uscis web, they work like that, so I think you only should wait....calling them is so frustrating and worthless.

where can I check about the background check??? I have a B2 denied 3 years ago because they told me to apply for a k3 because I was not elegible for a b2 because my husband and kids where US citizens

You can call  and ask about it, you can ask tier 2 about if is your file under the background check. But I think you should wait  because now you are under normal processing time, but when July turns come and you don't receive any approval, you can call up uscis , tier 2, and ask about it.

Use the website to inquire about your case. An immigration officer will review it. Sometimes, your background check is not completed and it can delay processing big time. But you should see if an elected representative can help.

Yesterday I was reading about that :/ about the background check, they do that with every people that has a B2 denied, a k1 denied, a B2 cancelled , entry denied at the port of entry, deported people, etc etc, in my case I have a B2 cancelled and the denied entrance at the port of entry, so is for sure they are going to send me to background check, my attorney didn't say anything about it at the beginning but yesterday that I read a lot about it here and saw cases similar to mine, and people with a k1 denied,  I sent a mail to her and told me that was true, they are going to send me to the background check and that's gonna take some time,  and it's not a month plus currently the processing time, it can add 4 months or more in the case of Texas service center, I guess in Potomac can take less time. But now I'm so disappointed 😔😕

I just looked up the cost to do removal of conditions (if you get the CR-1 by entering before 2 years of marriage). I had no idea it's another $680! Our 2 year anniversary is next August, so I'm considering just slightly delaying the NVC process (unless we get an RFE from USCIS). It's crazy they charge that much!

Looks like everything's a business for uscis 😂

to the Potomac people who got approved, are all of you US citizens or applied as a green card holders?

Haven't received an approval yet? Weird, they are working most in may filers, I'm sorry :/.

Seems like Potomac is going to start doing the same in Texas , skipping cases :/

OMG Elisa, that is so sad. Why would you complete the I-130 process at all? I would not give up my life for a cheating husband....

Because I love him, and I try to think everything is going to be better when we'll be together again :( I have spent 3 years of my life with him , 2 of them we have been married , so it's not that easy to break up, of course I have strong feelings for him :(

  12. Figured out about 1 hour ago, my husband is cheating on me again, and there's nothing I can do, no way to enter to the states for me, and he's definitely not coming to visit me, still wondering if I'm going to need a waiver, not hopes to see him in a really long time, I 130- PD June 22, so I still have a to wait a entire century to receive an approval, just sitting down, seeing my life passing by,  knowing he has someone else and just holding and waiting to the I 130 process to be completed if I want to see him again. Life sucks 😔

Yeah pictures, marriage certificate, letters of our witnesses.  It was just a simple marriage at the court.  We couldn't afford to have a destination wedding.  So pictures of us signing the marriage certificate, putting our rings on and then a final pic of us together holding the certificate.

Omg 😲! You sent a lot of evidence IDK how they could be asking for more, please don't forget to let us know what they ask for when u get the letter.

    Hello Elisa,

it seems you have some experience here. I want to verify something. so is the birth certificate needed if a copy of the naturalization document included? I did not include it since I am from outside the US originally (Syria) and it is kind of difficult to get one now! I hope that document suffice ! :(

Hello! Well, actually we sent both, my husband is the us citizen and we were told by the attorney we should send both birth certificates and also his naturalization certificate, but it depends of the officer who will check for your case. Keep calm, and wait, if they send you the RFE at least you will know which is the misssing document.

    What app is that?

Is the uscis app, you can download it in the App Store and play store,  but for iPhone sucks, it's not worth it. It'll only help you for checking your own case and looking up for random cases ! I'm An iphone user so I had to get an old Lg and old Samsung for checking the cases, it works so much better for LG! And its where I received most of the approvals of the day, in Samsung doesn't send the same amount of notifications, are less.

    PD March 6, 2017

Update on my case on USCIS for Request for Additional Evidence was mailed 10/19/17

OH man I was so hoping it was an Approval but oh well looks like it will be a little longer for me.

Ohh! I saw your case! Don't get sad! At least they have opened your file, everything was the same today for texas march filers, a lot of march cases still appear as "received", and so much movement for April, and a few may cases.
