Hi there! I am going to petition my Mom but have a problem with her BC. Her Middle name when she was single shows "Villa" but she's been using "Billa". (ex maiden name: Mary Villa Diaz but she has been using "Mary Billa Diaz"). Can she also get an Affidavit of one and same person? Do have a sample of this Affidavit that you can share

Also, did your Mom apply for a passport already? I am curious if my Mom needs that affidavit when applying for passport.

Hello Everyone! I need your help. I am going to petition my Mom and planning to send the application this coming Monday. If there is no problem Crossing my fingers.

Upon checking my Mom's BC, we both find out that her BC has minor spelling issues. Her maiden name shows "Villones" instead of "Billones". It's an obvious typo error.

My BC and her Marriage contract shows that her Mother's last name is Billones.

What should I do? What should I put in the "Other Names Used"? Ex.

Full Name is = Mary Bon Hernan

Other Named Used (Maiden Name) is = "Mary Billones Bon" or can I put Mary Bon w/o the middle name?

Please advise. hmmm. guess i worry too much lol

Today, I and my husband show up for our Infopass regarding my EAD. Good news! I found out that they already approved my EAD last Dec. 13 and the guy whom we talked with told us that my EAD card is on production. He said that I would be able to get my new EAD before the expiration date of my EAD. I was also told that the reason why I wasn't scheduled for Biometrics because my Biometrics is still valid. I had my last Biometrics on Jan 23 of last year.

I asked for a proof that my EAD was approved but the guy told me that they cannot provide me that. I checked the USCIS website but my case is not updated in there. I wish they update my case on time! If they did, I should not be worrying and be stress out. Anyways, I am just glad that I heard a good news for my EAD but for my GC, it's still pending..

Life always do have good and bad news. I suggest everyone to do Infopass if you want to inquire about the status of your case.

I called just this Monday (01/05/09). I checked my case online and until now, there is no touches done.

This Monday, hopefully they will allow me to talk to Tier II and hope they can help me on that.

I am really praying that they help me out and hope my work wont get affected.

Thank you for the time. I am so disappointed with the processing of my papers right now. They received my document last Oct 7, 2008 and until now, I am still waiting for my Biometrics. I called last month and i was jut told that they cannot give me any information because I need to wait for 90 days. When I called just this Monday, the lady told me that I can request for my Biometrics after 60 days. I am so disappointed to find out that I can request for Biometrics because I did called last month.

Now, I am worried because this is going to affect my job! I already applied for service request but until now, no touches done on my case. I set up an Infopass for this coming Monday. But still, I don't know if this is going to help. My card will expired on Jan 23 and I don't know have to get any document saying that I can still work. Hope you can advise me on this. I would really appreciate it.

Hello there. Yes, I applied for AOS and until now, it;s still pending. I did not receive any interview date or anything so I decided to apply for EAD last year. I renew my EAD on Oct 2008 and until now, I don't have my biometrics. I already applied for service request for that. I also set up an Infopass sched on Monday hoping that it could help.

I am curious with this Interim EAD because it is stated in the form of I-765. When I talked to the customer service, I asked about the Interim EAD and the lady did not told me that they are not issuing it anymore. Oh well! I even don't know if there information is right! This is so frustrating!!!

Waiting and waiting is really stressful! My EAD is about to expire (01/23) and until now, I did not hear anything from the USCIS. They did not even set me up for a Biometrics!

Last month, I called them regarding my EAD, and the person whom I talked with just told me that I need to wait for 90 days before they can give me further information. Just this Monday, I decided to call the USCIS and asked about Interim EAD. And that's the only time I found out that we can ask for request of Biometrics after 60 days! *sigh*.. Going forward, i applied for Service Request for my Biometrics. This is really stressful because I am working now and this would affect my work (.

I just read in the I-765 Instruction about the Interim EAD. I already set up an appointment this Monday hoping that I can get an Interim EAD. Anyone tried this? How does it goes? Are they going to give me an Interim on that day as well?

I am glad that I saw your post. I am also worried with my renewal of EAD. I am working right now however; my EAD is good until Jan 23. This coming Monday is the 90th days of processing so I am thinking of calling the USCIS on Tuesday.

I noticed that you and other members mentioned about Interim EAD. What exactly it is? Does it mean that if I cannot received my EAD on 23rd, I can request for Interim EAD and I can still continue to work? Are they going to give us a proof stating that we are still allowed to work by using the Interim EAD?

I hope this is real. Come to think of it, before we are issued for our visa, they already check our papers and we are cleared already from our Country of Origin. If they do have lots of work to be done, then they should just hire more staffs knowing that, applicants pay a lot of money just for them to process the papers.

I called the USCIS today, and the person who answered my calls give me a good answer aside from just reading what's the update in their website She can't tell if my application is pending cause of FBI namecheck reason. She checked my case in the local office and she told me that they are processing the the month of May now. I cant just understand how offices does the papers where their are lots got approved right away grrrr.. Anyways, she told me that i should call back once my papers don't have any update within the 7th month (im praying good news) which is this week of Dec. She told me that, once they start processing the June applicants, she could be able to inquire on what's the status of my case or what's really going on.

I pray for positive feedback so that i don't need to apply for a very expensive EAD!!! ( May the good Lord help us and be approve.

Thanks for the reply We did not scheduled for infopass cause when we went to Local office, we did talked to the one of the interviewer there and she told us that it's not a wise for us to set an infopass since we are far from the office.

The last letter i received from the USCIS is the cancellation letter so i don't really know what's going with my application. If i am on name check or what! We are hoping that we could be able to talked with the IO this week since its our 7th month since the application.

We are praying that we could received a positive feedback soon but at same time, we are considering on applying for my EAD. My question is, if i applied for EAD would this be affected with my application for AOS? I don't want to waste money and applied for EAD if this will be also pending since my GC is still pending. Please give me an advice on this matter.

Hi to all! In my case, my interview was cancelled and till now, i dont have any feedback from USCIS It's really upsetting where you don't know what happen and when the processing will be finished. I also didn't received any letters thats saying that they are doing name check. This week,it would be the 7th month and we are hoping that once we are going to call the immigration, we could be able to talk with the IO.

I didn't applied for EAD so i do have a questions for all of you guys. If i applied for EAD, will my application be affected by my pending GC? or they will approve my EAD even my GC is still pending?

Hi tiki! you are not the only one who is worried with the application of AOS. In my case, they cancelled my interview just this august and till now, I dont hear anything from them I also pray that soon, i could get a new update of my application.

The usual advice is to go anyway. There have been examples recently of people who received both email and hard copy cancellation letters, who showed up anyway and were interviewed. Its not worth the risk of being denied.

my husbands interview was cancelled but they failed to let us know ahead of time.

we drove the hour to cleveland got there early just to make sure we were not late. had breakfast and went into the office and sat and waited for our lawyer to come. in came her secretary only to tell us that they called them that very morning (of course while we were in transit to the interview) and told them it was cancelled because they didnt recieve my husbands file yet.

a few months later we got a new interview letter.

i had the same problem..we still went and just to confirm. Several people have gone and actually had the interview though it was cancelled. I would advise either way best to show up so they can't claim you are a no-show.

Keep after the USCIS folks. We had our interview cancelled and it has not been rescheduled.

I received an actual letter and with my regards with my USCIS online, I dont received any updates in there. I called the USCIS and with the updates they got, its still bout the infos that they received my applications and wait for further notice and that ways good for May!!! The USCIS customer representative told me to just wait for the letter about my new sched cause he dont have informations about it.. grrr. what the use of asking them

If we go to the interview date, what should i do? Do i need to tell them that they cancelled my interview or i will just inquire if they will still entertain me.
