  1. Hello,

I applied for removal of conditions on my conditional green card through marriage last year, and got my 10-year (final) green card after removal of conditions 2 months ago. I thought I would not receive any further communications from USCIS, but I just received another notice saying that my conditional resident status has been extended for 18 months due to delays in processing. It seems that the USCIS system that sent this last notice isn't aware that I already received my green card without conditions. Has anyone else received this kind of redundant extension of conditional green card after receiving the final green card? If so, have you taken any action (like calling USCIS to report the redundancy) on that extension notice, or have you just ignored it?

    Thanks.

  2. Hello,

I applied for the removal of conditions on my 2-year conditional residence in May 2017. Given that my service center (Vermont) is still processing cases from January 2017, it's likely that I will not have my new green card before the 1-year extension of my conditional green card expires in July 2018. Actually, it's not clear if the 1-year extension starts from the date on the I-751 receipt notice, so the expiration may be in May 2018. So, I'd like to go ahead and get an I-551 stamp in my passport via Infopass. Is there a rule as to how far in advance of the expiration date I can get the I-551 stamp? Do I need a reason (other than expiration in the next 3 months) to get the stamp ASAP?

    Thanks,

  3. Hello,

I submitted I-751 for removing conditions on my green card with all supporting documents in May 2017, received green card extension notice that same month, and completed biometrics the next month. My USCIS online status has been showing "Case Was Received" since then. Given that I still haven't received my new green card, can anyone tell me what sort of processing times they have experienced with the removal of condition? My case is assigned to the Vermont service center.

    Thanks,

  4. Hello,

I am an Indian citizen married to a US citizen. Our children (twins under 2 years) are US citizens. All of us are planning to travel to India in November to visit with family for about 2 weeks, and need some advice on what type of visa we should get.

Based on the research I have done online, I have ruled out OCI cards, since it needs more time & paperwork and we do not intend to visit India often. That leaves e-Visa, tourist visa, and entry visa, correct? I am leaning toward entry visa or tourist visa, since I do not want to restrict port of entry by getting an e-Visa (we haven't bought our tickets yet).

Does anyone know the difference between entry visa and tourist visa? I can't find a good source for this online. Should spouses and children of Indian citizens apply for an entry visa as opposed to a tourist visa? Which one has less paperwork and cost?

    Thanks.
