  1. I called nvc few minutes ago i got case complete today!!!!! Thank God . Scan date: may 22nd. July 25th i spoke with a supervisor even thou she didnt specifically said she was doing something to expedite or sending it to review or anything she just kinda said dont worry about it its in review department it will get reviewed any day now. I found out that same date i spoke with her the case went into review . Dont know if the supervisor had anything to do with it but i find it very coincidental!  @cleon86 Thanks for the support and for sharing your knowledge guys.

No "CC" yet.  But just got off the phone with the NVC just to see how's my case coming along.  He notice that I'm coming up on my 11 weeks, and he said surprisingly my case is not in the review department.  He put me on hold for about 2-3 minutes, and mention to me that my case is going to be submitted into the review department by tonight.  Not sure how accurate to what he was saying, but i'll think positive and pray to get that "CC" by end of this week or next.  Original scan date 2/3/2017.  2nd scan date 5/26/2017.

I hope mine gets in with yours cuz our scan date is 5/22/17 and i also called today around noon and was told wasnt in review yet.

You can pay it after as well. You will only receive your GC after paying the fee which is, btw, $220 as of December 2016. Here is a very informative handout https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/F4en.pdf

Yes thanks for pointing that out. Apparently fee increased. But from what i read the fee gets paid once the visa gets approved at the consulate.

Thanks! I just found the link on their website https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/F4en.pdf

Found this useful info for everyone:

The process for paying the fee is the following:

    1. At the conclusion of your interview at the US consulate you will be given your A Number, your department of state case ID which is three letters with nine or ten numbers, and a sealed visa packet. You will also be given instructions regarding what you need to do to pay the fee

    2. Create an online USCIS ELIS. Go to www.uscis.gov/USCIS-ELIS. Follow directions to create and online account and select “USCIS Immigrant Fee” and complete your personal biographic information.

    3. Pay the USCIS immigrant fee of $165. You can pay the fee for all family members in one transaction. If you pay for family members, you must have their A-Numbers, DOS case ID numbers, and correct biographic information. You may pay with a valid credit or debit card, or a US bank checking account with the appropriate bank routing numbers.

    4. Travel to the US

    5. After you are admitted to the United States, USCIS will verify payment of the USCIS immigrant fee and mail your permanent resident card (green card) to the address you provided to the department of state at the time of your immigrant visa interview.

Many people believe that they will not be allowed to enter the US until they have paid this fee, and in fact we have heard that some officers at the consulate tell them that they cannot travel to the US until this fee is paid. This is not correct.

Once you have been approved at the consulate, a stamp will be placed in your passport and you have six months in which to enter the US and officially claim your status as a lawful permanent resident of the United States.

The USCIS immigrant fee is not required to be paid prior to traveling to the US; however you will not be given an actual physical plastic green card until the fee has been paid.

The stamp in your passport which indicates that you are a permanent resident is only valid for a period of one year and cannot be extended. If you have not paid the immigrant visa fee by the end of the one year, the stamp will expire and you will no longer have any proof that you are lawfully residing in the United States.

USCIS strongly recommends that you pay the immigrant fee after you receive your immigrant package from the department of state and before you depart for the United States.

The USCIS immigrant fee allows USCIS to recover the cost for processing and maintaining the immigrant visa package, and the cost of delivering and producing the permanent resident card.

Attorneys, accredited representatives, employers are not authorized to create a USCIS ELIS account on your behalf to pay the USCIS immigrant fee. Only you are the immigrant, may open a USCIS ELIS account and pay the required fee.

Please keep a copy of your receipt for your records. If you fail to pay your fee after entering the US, USCIS will send a request for evidence to your address.

Status changed to At NVC today and I confirmed CC with the the NVC!

    SD: 05/17, CC: 07/21

Are there any other fees that need to be paid before the interview (not the medical fee) like an immigrant fee or something that you pay at the embassy?

Congrats!! As far as I know the next fee would be for green card i beleive can be done online USCIS website... (after consulate interview)

  6. Hey guys quick question... i recently changed jobs and im the sponsor for my husband, my previous employer made a letter saying how long ive been with them and the financial evidence show my paystubs of previous job. My question is.. does it matter to update the employer ? Isnt it the point to simply prove you make more than their minimum income level ? . Our case is still waiting to be reviewed scan date May 22nd. I just dont want to delay anything..more than its already been

Hey Sd7, I need a favor!! I'm kind of having a freak out moment because I was scanning the El Salvador Reciprocity Schedule and noticed for marriage certificate it says, A "PARTIDA DE MATRIMONIO" -Certificado de Matrimonio- is the only valid marriage certificate.

We sent in the Registro De Matrimonio and the Escritura Publica. Is there a separate marriage certificate??? Would you potentially mind showing me what yours looks like or sending in a private message because I tried to google it and I can't find anything.

Cleon 86 my certificate of marriage is from U.S so it was in english already

@Sd7 - you should try calling the NVC if you have crossed the 8 week mark and they might tell you if your case is in the review department if it is been picked.  I would consider Weekends as well

Well, the refund request was submitted by our lawyers in May . After all the back and forth from February up until Beginning of April when our lawyers finally sent the  DS260 and all the other documents they lost some documents and they were submitted again in May which is why the 2nd scan date is May 22 . So we havent hit the 8th week mark.

That's so frustrating. We have a lawyer as well and they sent our documents together and I am really praying they don't lose anything. I'm sorry to hear that. Your new date is soon though! My scan date was only 4 days ago and I'm already restless.

I know the feeling. Our case has been with NVC since February .. they sent an invalid Case termination letter because of no contact in a year. We found out USCIS never notified NVC the Waiver was under process so they thought we didnt proceed  with the visa process. After about a month they responded the case will be reinstated but we had to pay the fee bills again. We thought it was unfair but paid. About a month later they responded to a request our lawyers sent previously and said we did not had to pay the fee bills again... so another request was sent to ask for reimbursement. To this day is still under review. So its been quite a journey.

Hello Sd7! I've been looking for other members who are coming from El Salvador! My husband lives in San Salvador. I've read online that the embassy isn't bad.  They ask between 6-8 questions and verify a few documents.

What was your checklist for if you don't mind me asking?

Nvc lost the affidavit of support and financial evidence. Our lawyers sent everything together but somehow they lost those documents..

  11. Hey guys, im a new member but have been watching the forum for a while has been really helpful. So my hubby's 2nd scan date is May 22 .
