I am reintroducing the topic of including the K2's info on the K1's original I-864. This was allowable only if the K2 was to follow within 6 months of the principal immigrant (page 2, part 3, question 2 on I-864). In our case, my wife's 8 year-old daughter arrived with her K2 9 months after her mother. The only option I saw based on the old form would have been to fill out a separate I-864 for my wife's daughter as a "principal immigrant". As a derivative family member the daughter has no A number and I do not see anywhere to link her to her mother on this form. Fortunately on the new I-864 there is now a question #3 on part 3 if the K2 visa holder arrives greater than 6 months. This was an oversight that was thankfully corrected.
It is good that USCIS corrected this oversight but in our case this has created a discrepancy. Since on the old form there was no option for a K2 arriving greater than 6 months after the principal I did not include my wife's daughter's name. All I can see to do now is to send the new I-864 with my wife as the principal and her daughter as a family member. I am unsure as to whether to include the older form since it does not include my wife's daughter's name. Any comments on this decision would be appreciated.
As an aside the I-864 that we downloaded in October 2017 expired 7/31/17. Fortunately the new one expires in the future lol
