  1. Hi Raj,

Cant comment on the DCF time status, but if you are coming to stay in Delhi and would like to stay near the embassy area, you could try a few hotels, For the five star hotels near the embassy area you could try:

    1. Maurya Sheraton

    2. Taj Palace (Not Taj mansingh, though even thats not far)

    3. Hyatt Regency (not the Grand Hyatt, alhtough thats just another 15 mts away)

    4. Ashoka (not recommended - not good value for money)

If you would like info on other smaller hotels, please feel free to PM me or I can post them here, would just need to ask my colleagues in the area, I just moved back here from Mumbai, so dont know the details of the smaller hotels

Thanks Delhiguy. I have sent you PM.

  2. Hi All;

I am ready to file DCF for my wife in Delhi soon and have downloaded the form I-130 and G325 A. I have following questions abt fillling it:

    (1) In both forms, they ask for A no.(Alian regi. no) - What should we put ? Is it the same A no that we had when we had our perm. resi card(i.e green card) or any other thing ? (Though, it would be N/A for my wife !!)

    (2) in G325 A (bigraphic info) form, at the end, there is a question abt "prupose of submitting this form" with three options to check, namely (1) naturalization (2) Status as perm. resi. (3) other(pl. specify)..........

Now question is, what should I check here for me and my wife...I am sure for me, I need to check "other" but what should I specify here....and what abt option selection for my wife's G325.....

    Thanks in advance................

    Raj

  3. Gurdip:

meauxna is right....there is six month reqmt to qualify to file for DCF at delhi....but pl. check as five month may be enough with resi. permit......(pl. check with delhi embassy or thier website)

Reagarding other thing, I am in same boat as yours....I may not have job at time of filing I-864 but I can show self employed with some cash equi assests of arnd 350 K USD so I though this may be enough....

What I suggest is that...once you file for DCF, you can move back to US and get a job while your wife waits for pckt 4 and than you can file I-864 from US...that way you can show your domicile back in US and can show Job at the time when your wife go to final interview with your affidavit after pckt-4. (This is what I am thinking to do....even if I dont get Job in small time after coming to US, I can atleast show US domicile...since I have been staying in India for more than year)....

    Good Luck............

  4. Hi All:

Anyone has done DCF lately in Delhi, India.....I am planning to file soon for my wife and would like to know the info abt where to stay in nearby Hotels from US embassy since I am not from delhi but will be going there with my wife to file.

Also, is there any recent experience from Delhi DCF ? how long does it take ? (Our jurisdiction would be in Mumbai so case will be forwarded to Mumbai)

    Thanks in advance............

    Raj

  6. With $200,000 US dollars, assuming not laks Rupees  , you are pretty well off as such you should not have much problem with the affidate of support. To be on the safe side you can alsways have a sponsor

Thanks for response. Yes it is, fortunately, 200 K USD. But I wont be having US jobs at that time so that was my concern. I am not sure abt getting co-sponser as I may not be able to find it....so that was my concern...any other suggetion is also appreciated....

Also, anyone has any answer to other question such as how loing does the process take lately in delhi/Mumbai ( We are falling under mumbai jusisdiction!!!!) ??

  7. Hi All:

Thanks for this post. I am USC currently staying in India for more than a year and have FFRO registration etc etc. I am planning n getting married next month and than plan to file DCF for my wise in Delhi. I know new sic months reqmt and I meet this reqt since I have been staying here for more than a year.

However, my questions are as below:

    - Since I am staying here in India for more than a year, currently I dont have job in US or USdollar income...and so what happens with I-864 affidavid of support

    - Isn't this contradictory that they person should stay in India for six month to file for DCF and than in affidavit of support they need to show US employement and imcome and that US domicile as well (I mean a person staying in India for six months than how can he prove this ???)

    Any suggestion.............

FYI...I have filed taxes regularly in US, have bank accounts, stock/broker accounts maintained in US and can show good bank balance to them (abt 200K!!)...is this enough ??

    Any feedback is appreciated.......Thanks

    -Raj
