...Having just posted about waiting for the EAD, I was very surprised to find a letter from USCIS in the post - our interview has been scheduled for next month! We live in the least populous state, so perhaps there aren't as many cases at the local office, but still, when I last checked the processing times, they were working on October 2016 cases in August of this year. Nothing has come about the EAD and AP applications. So, a big surprise to have the I-485 interview scheduled so soon, and there'll now probably be a four-week mad scramble to get everything together (cue the nerves). I really hope you all hear something about your applications soon too, EAD or GC or otherwise.

    Good morning All,
My online status updated to "Interview is scheduled" this morning..... My interview is on November, 22!
Very excited about the good news.... I don't know what happened yesterday but it seems a lot of us are receiving good news!

Fingers crossed us August filers see some EAD updates fairly soon too, that would be most welcome. I am prepared for the long wait, though...

I had the biometrics appointment yesterday - it went well. I waited for about 20 minutes, as there was a queue in the office, and the actual appointment was only about 10 minutes. I filled in a form before I went in, then had my photograph and fingerprints taken. Stress-free.  I did take my marriage certificate to show with my passport, to prove change of surname, so it's worth taking that along with you, if your ID is still in your maiden name.

Just got my biometrics letter today - 10 days after receiving the NOA letters for the packet. The appointment is in 11 days time.
I checked on USCIS and nothing has changed about our case status on there, regarding the notice being sent.

    1. A couple of fields in each form didn't work for me - I completed them by hand, in black pen, in capital letters. I think in the instructions it says you can either type or print in black ink, so it should be fine (please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!).

    2. I would have put "K1 Visa Holder" (or perhaps left it blank, as my status hasn't changed since entering). I would think your status is still whichever visa you entered on, and is given as your admission status on the I-94.

    Hope that helps!

I didn't get my notifications until 11 days had passed, I'm sure it'll be soon.

Wingsly got a reaction from LCM in About Police Clearance...
Would you be able to postpone the interview? Can you get any confirmation that they've received your request for a police clearance? I had to wait almost four months for a foreign police certificate to arrive, but I would not have been able to succeed at the interview without it. They asked for it directly when I said I'd lived abroad for over a year. I'm not sure if it would be different elsewhere, but I'm glad I didn't risk it, even though the wait was so long.

    Congratulations on your approval!

My visa was approved exactly one week ago, and today I got the e-mail saying that it's now with the courier and will be available for collection in 1-2 days.
