Well, my green card expires December 13th. I counted 90 days back and it looks like Sept. 14 is the day. Can I go to the post office today or do I actually have to wait till tomorrow, the 14th, to mail it out?

Oh, and is it okay if the dates on I-751 and the cover letter are a few days early or do they have to be signed not earlier than the day the 90-day window begins?

My mom is coming to visit us in October. She is flying through Washington Dulles airport and only has 1 hour and 20 minutes there. Does someone have experience going through immigration and customes there? Do you think she would have sufficient time to make it to her next local flight?

We are sending out ours on the 14th!

I am sending the paperwork in next week and am not sure that my in-laws will have the affidavits ready by then. But I would not want to delay sending the papers in because of that. Is it mandatory to send them or not?

de_sjiem, you are right. We need to be more careful when driving and observing the law. I don't mind paying the consequences in this case, but I was just trying to figure out what the procedures are. Of course, as human beings, we don't want to be punished too much, especially if we are not habitual law-breakers. Obviously if I was speeding all the time, I would have already known the answers to my questions.

I think I will probably wind up going to court on that day and see if the judge reduces it some more.

Does anyone know if there are license and insurance points added for a 9 miles over speeding ticket in a 35 mph zone? Where would it be possible to find this out?

It takes a while. During my time here (almost 3 years) I've managed to meet many internationals and that has helped a lot. I think people who share similar experiences tend to understand each other better. Plus, many people in this country have a very busy lifestyle. Some of the cultures that the rest of us come from are more relaxed and flexible. I've learned that getting involved in various activities does help in making friendships.

Since the application has been submitted before the divorce procedures, I think you need to wait and see what the USCIS decision is. Since your status is pending and you have the 1-year extension, you shouldn't worry about leaving the country at this point. Unless they want more evidence, you might just get your approval. Just make sure you notify them if you change your address.

It looks like you've been married for over two years, so even if USCIS rejects your application, you might still be able to get your 10-year green card. I don't know much about that process, but I am sure that someone here will be able to help you.

This is crazy how most of those workers don't know anything about these things. My driver's license is valid till 2012 (I'm surprised that they gave it to me for so many years ahead) and if we move during the removal of conditions process, then I'll try to do it online. North Carolina lets you just file for a renewal online without presenting any papers.

I know that the stamp cost has increased about a month ago, but last week I forgot and sent some envelopes out with the old stamps on them. What will happen next? Will I get the envelopes back or will they get lost somewhere? Has anyone had this experience?

This is sooo crazyyy. I am glad I read this, because I was starting to prepare to file the I-751 in September. I can't believe the fees are going to be so high.

It took me about 6 months. I was looking for something with my qualifications and lower, but I didn't get hired for the lower positions because they thought I was over-qualified. So it took a while to get the job I deserved and that matched my skills.

I think it would be easier if he was a US citizen. I have a friend who overstayed her student status for a month or two and she married her fiance who was a US citizen. They filed for AOS and didn't have any problem getting it approved.
