As long as you have the delivery confirmation showing it was sent and received then that's a good thiing.
Has the check been cashed yet? If so, that's another good sign.
I sent money orders.

I mailed out my AOS packet on 7/5 through USPS. My tracking number showed it arrived at Chicago lockbox on 7/9. I have not yet received the text or email from USCIS to say they have received it. Is that normal? I've seen many timelines which show they received the text within a couple days. It's already been Monday - Friday and nothing yet. Has it taken a while for anyone else?

I filed in July, but I'm already starting to worry because USPS tracker showed it was received on July 9, yet I still haven't received a text or email from USCIS to say it's been received. Can that text/email take a while? 😳

Hi,
I just went to write out my checks to USCIS and noticed that my name and address is NOT printed in my checkbook. I've never used it before and it must be the one I was given when I opened my account and my name is not printed in it. Per the USCIS website, it states that "Personal checks must be pre-printed with the name of the bank and the account holder. Also, the account holder’s address and phone number must be pre-printed, typed or written in ink on the check. All checks must be typed or written in ink". I need to send my application tomorrow. Therefore, will I have to use a money order instead?
Can you get money orders from the bank? USCIS says "money order drawn from a U.S. financial institution"...... Does that mean I can't get a money order from Walmart then?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm having the worst time trying to figure out what kind of pencil or pen to use to write my name and A-number on the back of the photos.
The pencil barely shows up at all, and I don't want to press hard to make an indentations.
One felt pen I tried would not dry after waiting over 24 hours.
The ballpoint pen could be seen through the photo when held up to the light.
Why am I finding this so difficult
Thankyou!!

Hi,
I need some clarification on Part 5 of the I-864. Sponsors household size.
My husband is the sponsor, I am the beneficiary, and we have one child. He is not responsible for anyone else. So our household size is three.
On the form I understand you cannot count anyone twice. However, I'm wondering about number 3 in part 5. If I have already been counted on number 1, then does my husband but "0" for currently married, even though we are married. Because otherwise he is counting me twice. But he is married so putting "0" isn't accurate. 😬
Thanks!

Just an update on my experience:
I had my appointment with the civil surgeon and for my age (26), and the only age appropriate vaccines I needed to receive or show proof of receiving were the Tdap, MMR, Varicella and Flu.
However, being pregnant, it is contraindicated to receive MMR and Varicella so she could mark that one off as not medically appropriate. The Tdap I had proof of receiving from my OB earlier in the month, and the Flu shot is not required at this time of year.

Which forms require the g-325??
I thought i-130 did, but I just read it doesn't anymore. Is it needed with ANY of the forms?
Thanks.

Hi,
In the process of preparing my forms for concurrent filing i-130 and AOS packet.
I've seen a couple different things for how people answer non applicable questions.
I just wanted some clarification on that.
If a question is not applicable to me, on some forms instructions it says to type or write N/A, which I understand. However, should I just write N/A on the first line only, or every single empty line? E.g. if a form asks for previous 5 years address and there is Address 1 and Address 2, and I lived at Address 1 for 10 years, I don't need to fill in Address 2, should I write N/A on every single line of the address or is N/A in the first line only acceptable?
Thank you.

Hi,
I cannot find a record of my previous vaccinations, so figure the Civil Surgeon will require me to get them all. What happens in the case I am currently pregnant?
Do I come back a later date, and the surgeon will not sign off the form until I am vaccinated? Or, can he give me a wavier on medical grounds that it is not safe during pregnancy to receive the shots.
Also, do they do blood work prior to the shots to determine your immunity to the diseases?
Thanks!!

Hi,
I'm confused by qualifying factors for the i-864EZ form.
Part 1 of the form asks you to check the boxes to ensure you qualify to use this form. 1.b. asks that you are using own earnings which is documented on form W2...... well can I check this box but NOT send any W2 - and instead just attach the IRS Transcript????
The instructions state "The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service Form W-2s provided by your employers of former employers."
However later, it mentions "You must either provide an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year."
So my question is, can I attach tax transcript INSTEAD of W2??

Hi, I have started filling out the i-130 (a draft/practice copy first) and I have so many questions. I am the beneficiary, my husband is the US citizen petitioning for me, but I am the re-searcher between us so I'm collecting the information for us.
Questions which ask for things like alien registration numbers or previous addresses which are not relevant to us, do we leave it completely blank or do we write N/A? If we write N/A do we write it on the first line only or every line?
Questions such as Part 2 Q40 which asks if you are a lawful permanent resident to complete the items below, do we leave black or write N/A?
For the employment history, would we write the local address of the establishment my husband works at? (he is a store manager) Or the companies address which is noted on tax returns?
Part 4 Q 25. Information about beneficiary's family - do I include my spouse as person 1, even though he was just listed in the previous question of beneficiary's spouses?
Part 4 Q 48. Travel document number - If this only if you don't have a passport? Is this the VISA page in my passport? Confused.
Part 4 Q 57. Information about beneficiary - Is this asking for my current address again? I see the word foreign, but I no longer have a foreign address.
Part 4 Q 60b. Date To on last address at which me and spouse physically lived together. Do we write PRESENT if we still live together? It asks for the format mm/dd/yyyy.
Part 7 and 8. Do we write N/A in the first line of each or leave blank?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Since visiting this website for the first time today I've noticed numerous mentions of certified copies and copies (of documents such a birth certs and marriage licenses).
I am preparing my AOS packet (which will include the I-130) and have made regular photocopies on a copier machine of all documents. Is this inadequate?
What is the real difference between a copy made on a photocopier and printed out, vs a certified copy? And which do I need for what documents?
Thanks.

I did not file a G325 with my I-130, however I did file one with my I-485. I'm sorry I'm not sure for your specific circumstances as my application was spousal.
