I need some suggestion.
1. When i applied for 10 years green card, i didnt hire a lawyer. I just did everything myself as it was fairly simple. Is it possible to do it myself with the citizenship too? My case is very straight forward. Do you suggest i need a lawyer this time?
2. For the proof documents, since i will apply based on 5 years rule, Do i need to show a lot of documents that show we are together? Or just a joint financial? (We dont have lease or mortgage. Also, we file tax separately, do i still need to have tax transcript? What do you recommend?
Thank you

You have to fill the entire form (even if the answer is No) and do not leave any parts blank.
Answer YES where applicable or NO/NA where not applicable.
There's a reason why your post was read 24 times but only responded to once.....please be clearer in your questions and
thank you so much !

Hi
I know the instruction says put N/A wherever the questions don't apply to you. To be clear, does it mean i put N/A to every single thing down to like 'interpreter section, children section (i dont have any kid) ?
Also in section 6, It doesnt apply to me at all but the question confuses me a lil. So do i leave them uncheck?
Thanks in advance

You need to specify what you are applying for and update your timeline/profile so people can answer any other questions you may have.
I wouldn’t send originals anywhere, unless specifically asked.
thank you so much. im a very new to this site. thanks for suggestion

Hi
Do you send in original marriage certificate or just a copy?

Hi
I have a question about check. Do i send in 2 checks, one for the application fee and another for biometric? Or just combine them into one total?
Also, i want to file the removal myself because the lawyer wants $2,500, that's crazy!
i have looked on the form, it's very easy and not complicated at all. Should i just file it myself? My case is very straightforward.
thanks

Hi
I am new on this and really need help.
I married my husband (us citizen) a few months ago. When we did the marriage registered, the lady asked if i want to change my name, i said no. But then she suggested i fill up the form anyway which basically gives me option to change in the future easier. She confirmed it doesn't mean i have to change, just make it easier.
my question is, i do not want to change my name. i want to keep my maiden name. But somehow on the certificate has my maiden name but also states my new name at the bottom (im in California). Now i have to apply for green card. My lawyer said i need to use the new name when apply because the marriage certificate said so. Do I really?
can i use my maiden name when apply for green card? (on every single documents because i never want to change anyway)
my lawyer said they will question me in the interview why my certificate has a new name but i dont want to honor this new name on any immigration papers.
please suggest
