For those of you who can't find proper bacon in a shop, I would recommend ordering from the English Pork Pie Company. Their bacon and sausages are as good as the stuff you get in the UK. You can also get all manner of pies, Scotch eggs and sausage rolls. Everything is quite good! I'm lucky because they have their factory in my hometown, so we just pop in on a Saturday morning. They do deliver all over the US and as they keep growing like crazy, they have been able to negotiate better shipping rates.

Spoke too soon, girls- as soon as I hit 6 weeks, the sickness began.

Just feeling seasick constantly, so have to eat every 3 hours.

I felt like that, too, Gemmie. I used Seabands to help counter the nausea. They are stretchy wrist bands that have little buttons that apply pressure to a certain part of your wrist. I didn't feel 100%, but I didn't feel as bad as I did without them.

How are you feeling Maven? I hope, besides the hassel, aren't having any pain related to this bump.

Gemmie - I worked in insurance for a few years. if the other driver is determined to be at fault, your insurnace will not go up. Getting rear-ended at a stop sign is definitley the other driver's fault! In that situation, your insurnace wouldn't go up.

Thanks Maven (sorry, I just cannot accept Honey Crumpet!) There has been a lot of change here and I work on my own most of the time, which I find to be lonely and frustrating. I need guidance and my boss is never available to talk to. If I had the support I needed, I could like work again. i'm expected to make some pretty big decisions, which, most of the time I am perfectly OK with, but sometimes I really need someone to validate my opinion and the boss is never there for me anymore.

I loved my midwife so much that after I had my daughter and my last postnatal visit, I really missed her. :blush: After our last visit, I found myself tearing up over not having any further visits. :blush: Hormones are a funny thing! Obviously, I got over it as its been nearly 13 years! It was such a positive experience, though, so I like to encourage moms-to-be to use midwives.

Sorry you had a sucky week Pooky. My week is off to a sucky start. I'm starting to hate coming to work lastely, which is a feeling I very much dislike. I went for pistachio pudding today to help with the stress.

Great choice on the midwife! I had a midwife with my 3rd baby. It was a really great and much better experience. Nothing wrong with doctors, but my first 2 were born in a teaching hospital, where they had so many people in and out of the delivery room that I wanted to scream. You must stop with all the statistics reading - it will drive you crazy!!

Gemmie, that is great news! Congratulations! Being terrified is perfectly natural. It takes a while to get used to the idea of having a baby, even if you did plan it. Pretty soon you'll be all caught up in the planning of everything that needs to be done to be ready for the baby, and you won't have much room for worry Until you realize that its nearly time for the baby to come out! I hope you have a nice, easy pregnancy and delivery.

Congrats to all who have successfully passed the interview and test! My husband was in and out of the interview today in about 15 minutes. They told him his oath ceremony will be Sept. 14th. Unfortunately I am traveling for work then and will miss the whole thing. But, at least he will be a citizen and we won't have to worry about USCIS anymore!

Thats crazy! How does an American sound like any of those?! My husband always gets weird comments like "You have an accent. Is it American" And they go on to ask where in the US he is from. He says New York. They always assume city. Apart from the man who works in the post office who's sister lives in Buffalo I have yet to meet anybody in the UK who actually knows that there is an entire state above NYC!!!

Ain't that the truth, and my husband was one of them until I set him straight!!

Once my husband was complimented on his accent and then asked if he was from Quebec! :blink: Because Brits sounds so French-Canadian!! We roared laughing! :lol:

fter our own stupidity, the check was finally cashed 6/13/12!! I would add my update, but I always mess it up, despite following the directions on how to update correctly. If someone would be so kind to update my entry, I would be very grateful. :star:

We received my husband's whole packet back in the mail on Monday. Unbeknownst to me, he decided to look through the packet before mailing it out and managed to omit pages 8 and 9 of the N-400. :bonk: Easily remedied, but it does set us back a bit even though they give a green slip to include in the packet to expedite the application to the place in the queue where we'd have been had all documents been included.

Just mailed out my husband's N-400 today! We sent it to allas and will be processing through the Buffalo, NY field office. Can't wait to have this last hurdle behind us!

Pooky, I hope things are a bit better today.

In other news, we have finally gotten around to gathering the documents to complete the hubster's naturalization application. We should have done this last year, but it seemed like we had nothing but time and didn't want to incur the expense. Now there is a very good possibility my job will be transferred to London next year, so we've got to get moving! I don't want to have to deal with USCIS ever again! With any luck, we'll mail the packet out later this week and endure having our life placed in a CREATE at the mercy of USCIS!
