  1. Hello All,

I searched the whole site to find answers to my questions but didn't find what I was looking for. I decided to post a topic with hope to get some input from people here to knows more about it that I do.

We are moving to England for Military Permanent Change of Station. I file my AOS, Application to Travel Document and etc. Now my questions is listed below.

    1. What kind of documents should I expect after taking the biometrics for Application to Travel Document? Is there any stuff that they need to stamp on my passport? Or just a card or documents stating that I am allowed to travel?

    2. Once I am outside the U.S. and stay outside the U.S (England) for 4 years, what kind of action they are going to do with my pending AOS?

-Are they going to forward all the documents to my foreign address?

-Will the AOS still be processed?

-Will I do my interview at the US Immigration in England?

I know that was a lot of question but please help me, as I don't want to mess up this whole thing. Thank you and I will look forward for replies. Have a wonderful day to all.

    Sincerely,

    Zeraline

  2. Hello All,

I am really puzzled right now, but I know that this site is full of people with so much knowledge about this proccess.

To begin with, I filed mine and my sons AOS at the same time, as well as Aplication to Travel Document, and a request for expidited process (military PCS thingy to England).

Anyway, I recieved the NOA for my AOS but it doesn't include my sons AOS. I also recieved the NOA for Application to Travel Document both for me and my son at the same date.

Recently I recieved an ASC Appointment Notice (Biometric) but not my sons.

I am just worried because we are going to be moving to England on Nov. 06, 2008. I called USCIS and they said to call back if I still don't recieve the NOA for my son within 30 days.

Another question is that, will my son still undergo through biometric appointment? Is there anybody here who has the same experience and can give me more info, I would really appreciate it.

Is there any possibility that they won't send NOA for my son since we filed at the same time?

For reference below is my timeline:

AOS FILED (FOR MYSELF AND SON) ------- 09-18-2008

NOA RECIEVED (FOR MYSELF) ------- 07-27-2008

    BIOMETRIC NOTICE RECIEVED ------- 10-04-2008

    BIOMETRIC SCHEDULE ------- 10-25-2008

  3. Hello all I know being that this website is based for this stuff I know it is posted prolly somewhere but I can't find it. My questions are simple ones and I believe we have a valid case to have it expidited or delayed. Here is the situation I'm deploying to Iraq. My wife is currently pregnant and because of where I am stationed I am sending her back to Ohio where I am from for better medical treatment and care. My mother and my sister are both nurses they will be able to take care of her in ways I wouldn't. But what concerns me is I will be gone while her change of status is supposed to be taking place.

If anyone has numbers to call so I could inquire about this or even if anyone has answers and advice please let me know thank you very much.

I went through the same thing myself. This will help you out greatly:

    1. If you don't already have your orders see if you can get your orders stating that you're being deployed to Iraq.

    2. If you cannot get the orders then have your unit draft up a letter stating that you're being deployed to Iraq.

    3. Get in touch with your congressman ASAP! Tell them about your situation, they will help greatly.

    4. Once you have the documentation (orders or proof that you're being deployed to Iraq) make an info-pass appointment if possible, if not then your congressman should be able to help in expediting your case.

    5. Have all documentation readily available that you've received from Immigrations, this will need to be supplied to your congressman.

Let me know if I can help in anyway possible, you're from Ohio but I'll forgive you this once. ;) I'm from Michigan so I can say that.

Take care and keep your head down and your flack jacket and Kavlar on at all times.

  5. For those of you here in Hawaii, the SSAN process is simple but the office has long waits. Parking for the SSAN office is almost impossible and prepare to wait for approx 2.5 hours. We got there at 10 am and were finally called to the window at 1:30 pm. The CO said they would not issue a non-immigrant SSAN if you are within 2 weeks of the K1 expiration. We should have Maria's SSAN within a week. Ken & Maria

    Hi Ken,

We went to get our SSAN last week too. Park a little bit farther along Punchbowl St. We got inside the place around 3:45 and got called after 5 mins. Maybe that was because it was almost time for them to close. To our disgrace they don't give my son a card or a number unless I can get him a work permit which is shady because he is only 4 yrs old and what is the purpose of getting him a work permit. I didn't know about this. Does anyone here experience the same thing? Is SSAN required for the AOS?

  7. Well ladies and Gents I just wanted to sit down and drop a line to let you all while they are asleep. My Fiancee and my soon to be step son have arrived in hawaii where i'm stationed and it has been great to talk with them and play and joke.... we have had a great 24 hours hahaha she arrived at 6pm and I took them home and had to go to work at 9pm and then I got off of work at 6am and came home to find my apt had been rearranged to better suit our needs hahahaha this woman has been here only a day and she is already rearranging and she even started cleaning i am embarrassed that the cleaning I had done wasn't good enough hahaha but it's fun we are talking all night and doing alot of things with each other. We are planning on going to church for the first time as a family today... it's wonderful

but I actually had a question in all the dribble hahaha does the first point of entry keep the packet that the embassy gives the petitionee? Cause they kept her packet it had her birth certificates in there. I am not sure if we need it to get married here in hawaii but i might need it to inprocess her and get her an ID for my base so that she can do things on base. If anyone has info on that please let me know

  8. PW, I saw RigerAf today (all 3 of them)... I think the beaches in the Philippines are prettier and better scuba diving there alos... Just my opinion. 10 day I will be there and 11 will be the interview and VJ gathering. I am beginning to scourer through the packages and second guessing myself LOL... Who want Valentines treats for the dinner LOL. Ken & Maria
Aloha, RiggerAF! Happy landing in beautiful Hawaii. Mas maganda ba ang beach nila kesa Boracay natin?

Wow guys it was truly amazing seeing Ken here in Hawaii. He saw us at the shopping center inside the military base while we were lurking around stuff ang grocery shopping. We were truly shocked hearing someone calling our names but hahahaha wow Ken! Thanks for recognizing our face.

PW didnt get to see the beaches here yet...and I don't have any plan or any interest to do so.... Hahahahaha SOBRANG LAMIG DITO! I saw the beach down the military base and I think it's common down to our place in Siargao Island. So for the meantime I am just going to spend time re-arranging our apartment and will just go surfing once I get bored at home. You know boys...they have thier own ways arranging thier stuff hahahaha.

  9. Hi everyone, my ####### is here in Hawaii now but JESUS CHRIST! I AM FREEZING! I thought it's not cold here. Anyway I arrived here at 6:30 with stopover in Guam. POE is guam and they took my packet from there. I met few girls who is going to Houston and thier packet was there too in Guam. I believe it's US teritory and it's our POE. That was it! I hand out our packet, passport and boarding pass. Did finger scanning with picture taking lol. The CO told me that I have 90 days to marry and adjust the status. Got the stamp and heard the word WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES! That was quick totally. I saw few girls carrying thier bones lol ( i mean the x-ray film) hahahaha and I asked them if why are they carrying thier bones.... Was joking around hahahaha. It wasn't needed so better keep the x-ray films in your luggage if you want.

  10. That's one reason why I booked in advance and took the risk of hoping the visa is delivered in time. Anyway, good luck in your search for seats.

Thank you, We'll be flying via continental airlines tomorrow night. I am going to post my little experiences here about POE. Thanks for this wonderful community. Night and good mornng to all! Off the dreamland now.

  11. Thanks for everyone's support,

    Questions come up now:

Can I call the manila too ask what is needed or is it too soon?

I was told by Eldalin that they was going too review, so maybe nothing else is needed only too check something.

I sense that this is similar situation with my sons visa. It won't hurt to call. It's what they told us when we first called and to just wait for they are reviewing it and it will be released soon. Have faith in God. It will be released soon! I am keeping my fingers crossed.

  12. Can someone explain why the Consulate upon completion of the interview will not come out and say, "Your Visa is approved?"

I've read several posts of people who weren't quite sure whether they actually got approved or not. Do they blow fire out from their mouths if you dare to ask them?

You will not hear any word from the CO that you are already approved but you can see the PINK slip that says K APPROVED attached to your application forms.

After the interview with the CO you will then sit and wait for your number to be flash on the query board. You will then be given a pink slip and it is VISA DELIVERY FEE PAYMENT.

There is a reminder in the pink slip that says:

REMINDER: NO EMBASSY REPRESENTATIVE IS AUTHORIZED TO TELL APPLICANTS OR PETITIONERS THAT A VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED UNTIL A CONSULAR OFFICER AUTHORIZES PRINTING OF THE VISA. WE ARE UNABLE TO PREDICT WHEN AN APPLICANT WOULD QUALIFY FOR VISA ISSUANCE. DO NOT FINALIZE TRAVEL PLANS, DISPOSE OF PROPERTIES, OR RESIGN FROM YOUR JOBS UNTIL THE VISA IS ACTUALLY ISSUEd AND DELIVERED TO YOU.

In correction to my post. Sorry wasn't reading it right. duh! I was wondering the same thing and to my curiousity, I asked the lady at the immigrant visa call center and she said that eventhough you see a pink slip attached to your application forms the supervisor is still going to review it and sign it again for the authorization of visa to be printed and released.

  13. I may have seen someone mentioned this before but i've having a difficult time in booking a one-way ticket through PAL. The error message that I received is "Sorry. We are having difficulty in validating your credit card. You may wish to enter details of an alternative card and try again. (M009)." Has anyone experienced this situation and if so successfully how did you get around this (besides using another card)? I used my VISA card. Aloha.

The problem is not unique. It seems as though this has been an ongoing problem for at least a week. It must be some problem with their credit card authorization system. It's just not able to authorize the transaction. Somebody else posted a while ago about it and then called the booking center and were quoted a price higher than the web price! They would not book the ticket at the web price saying that was a different system.

They give a higher price than the usual online prices for the reason that they do not have available seats for the economy seats. I was gonna get PAL ticket for tomorrow but it's fully booked!(for economy that is)
