I just noticed your post. I had my interview this morning (21st August) at London and they said they had received my medical documents when I had my interview (which was approved).

I had to drive home after the interview to Scotland and when I got back, I checked CEAC around 6pm and it says “issued” and last updated on 21st August.

My medical was on 9th August so it may be worth your husband checking with Knightsbridge if they have sent his medical yet. I called them on Monday 20th August and they confirmed that they had sent it at the end of last week.

He had his medical on the 8th, interview on the 16th. He called Knightsbridge on the 17th and they said they sent it on the morning of the 16th. Hopefully it’ll show “issued” any day now and we can finally relax! Congrats on getting your visa 😊

AP is normal. Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to my husband (his medical was exactly 1 week before his interview at the embassy). They took his passport (which is a good thing! Likely means he is pretty much approved, pending receipt of the medical papers). I think it took about a week, week and a half for him to see an update on his case (this was back in February). They mailed him the passport with his visa shortly after he saw his case change to "Issued".

Everyone, and I mean everyone, goes through some form of AP. Can be 2-3 days, 2-3 weeks, 2-3 months, or even 1+ years for some.

    This is totally normal.

Your specific AP is due to the medical results pending, but also they will do their final checks and all too.

Ok phew! Was just making sure it was normal to go immediately to AP. Thank you both for your prompt replies!

  3. Hi All, my husband had his interview last week in London, but they hadn’t received his medical results yet (he had his medical the week before his interview). They said they were probably in the mail room waiting to be processed and was told to leave his passport at the embassy. When we check the status on CEAC, it says “Administrative Processing” and to allow several weeks for processing. It also says not to call and ask about it until 60 days have passed. Has anyone else’s status said AP after interview or did it go straight to “issued”?

I still think that’s fine, we filled the DS 260 just before it expedited but we also have the confirmation page. No I didn’t pay anything at the interview scheduling. We paid the AOS and IV on CEAC, but the $325 i think at the embassy...

Would you mind sharing what reason you gave for asking for an expedite? Curious because it seems that only those who submit an expedite request are getting interview dates. And which email address did you send expedite request to?

Hello -  have a q. my expedite for interview was approved today YAY!! and i booked my medical for 16tj July - i’m wondering what the implications are of having my interview before my medical? Has anyone done this?

Sorry I can’t help with your question,  but just wondering what reason you used to ask for an expedite and which email address did you send an expedite request to? Congrats on having your appointment so soon!

And we just got our expedite approval today! An NVC employee recommended we give it a try, it doesn’t extend your own wait time or “put you to the back of line” if rejected. So no harm trying. It was an extra thing to stress about, but worked out well for us thankfully.

Awesome! Congrats! What did you say your reason for expediting was? And what date did you get for your interview?

Totally! It’s really stressing us out. It seems like no one got any interview dates in London at the end of last month/beginning this month. Only info coming through are those who expedited. They haven’t even reviewed our expedite request that was sent to London on the 8th of this month. Someone else we know got it sent later to London and they had a decision within 48 hours. Our requests for updates were responded with a generic copy and paste of the exact same email we first got.

We’re waiting for a London interview as well. What email address did you send an expedite request to?

Hi guys! I got an email from NVC that some of our documents were in the horizontal position and had to be resubmitted.... pity! I thought it was just the settings on my pdf viewer.
Anyway, any idea how long it takes them to look at the documents again? Took us 2 weeks to get them looked at now which is pretty fast, but wondering if we have to wait another 2 weeks (I hope not!).

Don’t lose hope, we got our checklist on a Friday, resubmitted that same night and had our CC the following Monday morning...so one business day!

Now we are just waiting for our interview date...anyone know how long it takes to get that?

Yes we had to change our embassy from Prague to Frankfurt.

We emailed them with proof that the beneficiary could legally stay in German (scan of his visa) and explained the whole deal. They changed it in 2 days. Have they responded to your emails? At the end of the email, ask for confirmation of change if you weren't before.

Thanks for the info! How long ago did you do this and which email address did you send to? Did your case number change when it happened?

  10. Hi! Has anyone had any luck in changing interview locations? When we submitted our I-130 (back in March of 2017) we were living in Abu Dhabi. We moved to the UK in October and I have been trying to change it ever since, via email and phone, but our case number was still assigned to Abu Dhabi. Called NVC and they said if it’s not changed by the time we get a CC then it will be sent to Abu Dhabi and we would have to contact the London embassy and ask them to contact the Abu Dhabi Embassy to ask them to send the file to London, which sounds like would cause further delays of this already terribly long process. Anyone know the secret to getting NVC to change Embassy?

  11. We are waiting for our AOS and IV fees to be processed, but just curious once we get to the uploading documents stage...do we have to upload all documents at once or can we upload a few and return to it later to upload the rest? Only asking because we are still waiting on a police certificate and it would be nice to be able to upload what we have ASAP so that we don’t have a lot to do once the police certificate arrives.

I saw some type of document regarding how long time people were waiting for a case number or something and people listed what embassy and if it was pivot or not and I saw London there listed as a non-pivot. Can't find the document anymore but that's where I got it from. Also that list doesn't include all the embassies because mine starts with STK and they've been a pivot country for quite a while. Maybe it just include the bigger embassies?

Oh well it's possible London has made the switch. As other embassies are switching constantly. I've just been using the state.gov website. And, well, what I've heard others say for the rest.

    But things change.

Thanks for replying! Fingers crossed London has made the switch within the past few weeks 😊

They won't change a single thing until you get that first case number. I wrote them the same email every 4 days for 8 weeks to get my case number changed and just kept hearing "We have your files in the building, but there's nothing we can do." I had to wait to get the wrong case number.

Also, no, London is not PIVOT, just as Norway (the user, not the country) suspected. :(

426 days is so long! I wish you a speedy rest of your journey!

Thanks! Just curious how you know which embassies are PIVOT? Since posting, I went back through this forum and saw that someone said they’re a London PIVOT case.

  14.  Does anyone know if the London Embassy is pivot? We received our case number yesterday and it is assigned to the Abu Dhabi Embassy, which is pivot, even though I have contacted NVC several times to tell them that we have moved to the UK. I am so worried that we've waited all this time for a case number (NVC originally received our petition on Feb 26, 2018) and now we're going to have to wait even longer if the embassy in London is still mail processing. Ready for this journey to be over...it's been 426 days since we submitted our I-130!

USCIS does not send out documents to the NVC right away. sometimes it takes up to 6/7weeks for NVC to receive the case. AFTER NVc receives the case it takes up to 2 weeks to receive a case number. However, they have recently been taking 3+ weeks to assign a case number because of the large influx of paperwork from USCIS. I would say call once a week until they receive your case and then if you want you can call everyday after it is received but i would suggest maybe only 3 times a week (mon, wed, fri)

Took 6 weeks for USCIS for them to send my files to NVC. Then it took 3 weeks for NVC to assign a case number. And now it has been 6 days since it was assigned and i still cant log in. I keep getting an error and whenever i call they say it can take up to 4 weeks for me to able to log in .... this is ridiculous lol!

Yes you can start calling NVC to see if they have a case number for you. I have been calling but they have no case number for me yet. They said it can take upto 6 weeks but it doesn’t do harm to call them because you can start right away after they asign you a case number.

Thank you all for responding. Wow, another potential 6 weeks of waiting?! Crazy. So, I won't get any more updates from USCIS saying that they've sent my petition?

This is the letter we wrote

    Dear Officer,

I hereby respectfully ask that the mentioned case to be expedited for interview in Naples for the following reasons:

    1. Our Attorney sent the civil documents requested by your office in a packet on 22nd February 2017 along with the list of documents included. The NVC informed my attorney that the documents were keyed into your system on 24th February. (Fedex Receipt attached)
    2. On April 29th 2017 we were informed that two documents were missing: Silvia Conti’s Italian Police Clearance Certificates and our Marriage Certificate. These Documents classified as ‘missing’ were exhibits 9 and 12 and they were indeed included in the packet as you can see from the Attorney's letter attached. Nevertheless these documents were sent again on May 1st 2017.
    3. In the same date we were informed that our Marriage certificate was considered invalid as it was not issued by the Sharia Court. Our marriage certificate was obtained from the ADJD (Abu Dhabi Judicial Department), as per requirement for non-Muslim marriages; it was signed by Revd Pius Iroka who conducted our marriage and countersigned by Cannon Andrew Thompson, an authorized signatory of the Church in Abu Dhabi.  In addition, our certificate was attested by the Ministries of Justice  (ADJD), Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Consul at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as per the requirement of the local law in Abu Dhabi.   (See email from St. Andrew's Church and US Embassy in Abu Dhabi)
    4. Congressional support by Congresswoman Martha McSally’s office was sought on 2nd May 2017. They gathered all the evidence and documents that proved our marriage certificate is valid as per the UAE law. These documents were sent to your office to support our cause.

There is no evident reason for this delay in processing my wife's interview; it has been 5 months since the civil documents were received along with the fees as instructed.

We validated our marriage certificate following the UAE requirements, laws and its authenticity was attested by the US consul in Abu Dhabi as well.

I kindly seek immediate action to process my wife's interview as we have met all the prerequisites.

Thank you indeed for your time and consideration in reviewing this letter, and the attached evidence.

Thanks so much! I think the Ministries of Justice won’t apply to us since that’s an Abu Dhabi entity and we were married in Dubai. I have an email from the church also stating that all the correct steps were followed and that the Dubai Sharia Court would not be able to issue a marriage certificate.  Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it!
