Yes, the I-751 is still pending. We had received an 18-month extension, then later a 24-month extension. I think they are leaving the processing of all I-751 to do together with the N-400.

Yesterday my wife and daughter came to the building with me. The security guard let them in, but asked them to stay in the waiting room on the first floor. We had to go through a metal detector just like you would see in an airport. Put your shoes, watches, and belts in the box for scanning. My wife stayed on the first floor waiting room, while I went to the second floor to wait for my interview. We arrived a half-hour early, and I was called for my interview 20 min after my appointment.

The officer gave me the reading/writing test on a screen, then the civics test. After answering 6 correctly, he didn't ask me any more. Then he went through personal questions, regarding dates, addresses, birthdays, dates of traveling abroad, etc... I got the general impression he was checking if I would answer the same details as I submitted on the application. At the start he said he might ask to interview my wife for the I-751, and I told him she was downstairs, but he didn't require that in the end.

He didn't ask me for any supporting documents.

Finally, he told me that everything looked good, and that once he was finished processing the I-751 paperwork he would give me an approval. He said to expect a date for the oath ceremony sometime next month.

    My wife's experience downstairs:

There is a large open waiting room, where people are waiting for their oath ceremony. There were about 15 rows of seating. There are bathrooms past the elevators. There was a sign saying no food or drink, but my wife gave something to my daughter to eat, and nobody said anything to her about it. The majority of applicants were there together with their families, and dressed up fancy, with dresses and suit and tie, or in their cultural traditional dress, because after the oath ceremony there will be a photo opportunity.

Applicants were asked to fill out a form, my wife said it looked (from far) just like one of the receipt letters we get in the mail from USCIS.

When the time came for the ceremony, a lady asked the applicants sitting in the front three rows to go first, while their families stayed seated. It only took about 15 minutes before the second three rows were called. At that point I came down, so we left before seeing how the photographs works. My guess would be that this will happen at the end, after everyone has taken their oaths.

Just received the online notification that the I-751 was approved! Now it's just waiting to get the notice, and the greencard in the mail now.

How would I know that they have applied the biometrics that I first got at the port of entry ? I see a lot of people saying applied online, what does that mean and how do I check that please ?

You can know from the online update, or from receiving a letter in the mail.

The website to check online is https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Just input your case number here to see your current status.

is it a good idea to use the e-tickets/emails for this flight? as proof - as it mentions both our names.

or is it a bad idea since the flight got canceled?

I'm sure there's a lot of people who've had flights cancelled recently, sorry you had to lose your trip for that.

Imo it still shows that you paid for something in both your names 🙂

And don't forget that after the greencard photcopy, nothing is specifically required, so it's up to each of us to decide what documents, and how much we need to send.

Focus on quality documents first, and then from there decide how much secondary evidence you would like to include.

I checked the status of our case and it says "we updated your datw of birth on your 751 form". I freaked out and luckily saved a copy to my desktop. It looks like I had the right date...🤔 so confused

Other people have got "We updated your name" even though their names are the same now as when they started their first applications with USCIS.

So there's not really any good explanation for this, but I wouldn't worry about it 🤗

After being rejected the first time due to a day early filing, here is the update of my second attempt:

    9/8/2020 : Package received

    9/13/2020 : Check cashed out

9/14/2020 : Text message received with case number MSC.

    Good luck everyone!

Hey sorry to hear about your RFE. I read that USCIS received your form after your 90 day period started. So was the issue instead that your signature on the form was dated earlier?  or perhaps it was postmarked too early?

Future filers could use this clarification if they are looking to file as early as possible and without getting it returned 🙂

Hello everyone, can somebody tell me what is the answer of Part 1, question 22 of the I-751 Form? to the answer "Have you reside at any other address since you became a permanent resident? My answer is yes, I supposed to fill page 11 with that information, now, what confuses me is should I write the address that I live in currently or my old one?

The instructions say to put all your addresses since becoming a permanent resident with the length of time you lived there.

If agency forloughs immigration workers by the end of august, i wonder how thats gonna affect ROC timing. It’s just crazy that we pay so much fees and they are out of money, unbelievable!

USCIS had to disclose to Congress  that they are actually operating with a surplus this year, despite the coronavirus and despite Trump's immigration orders, so they are doing just fine with the current fees as they are. Following this disclosure they had to delay the lay-offs.

In my understanding they are only holding on to the threat so they can get the stimulus deal and line their pockets further.

The loan they proposed would be paid off by a 10% surcharge on all applications (on top of the increases already coming starting October).

I’m sorry? I’m just saying they are very ambiguous in their instructions that’s it. I never said I followed rules and others didn’t. There is no reason to wish for RFEs for me. This forum is a place where we wish to alleviate our tensions not wish each other more problems. Appreciate it. 😊

I apologize as that must have come out the wrong way. That's not at all what I'm saying 🤗

By you I'm talking about the general you (English is a strange creature).

Back in Feb/March, USCIS started sending back forms because they were from Dec 2019 even though this form is the most updated one, despite filers doing their best to do everything right.

Thankfully they got the word around to the staff who were doing this now, because filers aren't getting their packets back for this anymore.

What I meant is that we should just take the application process one day at a time, and not worry so much, since even following everything to the letter doesn't guarantee we won't get an RFE ☺

I also liked your post because I agree with you, they are so ambiguous 😉
