  1. makidesuu: Have you inquired at all since your interview with USCIS as to what is the hold up? I'm getting antsy after 2 weeks, I think if I haven't heard anything after a month I'm biting the bullet and driving to Philly for an Infopass.

I had an Infopass last month only to find out my AOS was still pending. The person at the window just read their records on pc, that was all and did not know the reason why it is pending. She asked me the name of the interviewer, but I did not remember since I did not pay attention to know the officer`s name at the interview. Anyway, I was surprised that they do not keep the interviewer`s name in our record..lol...very unorganized....lol Her supervisor even said to me that waiting 2 months is nothing. u should be worried if u do not receive it after 6 months...lol... So, there is nothing I can do but wait.

  2. Thanks choc. Have you had any touches since your interview?

I have been waiting for almost 3 months after the interview and we were told to expect GC within 2weeks at the interview. So you are not only one. Don`t worry. On this website, most people tend to recieve GC so quickly somehow, but people around me do not really receive GC so quickly. One of my friend is still waiting for 5 months.

By the way, my interview date was Aug 11th and the first touch was September 25th. Since then, there have been no touch.

  3. We had out AOS interview in May and we made an infopass appointment for today at the Kansas City office, since we are outside of the normal processing time. We were told that there are no RFE's on our file and that our FBI name check was ok. We were told that our file was with the supervisor for final approval.

Does anyone else have experience of this? For anyone who has been through this, how long after this did you hear that your file had been approved?

We made an infopass at Los Angeles office to see why GC had not sent out yet even if we got approved at the interview. At the window, we only received the piece of paper saying my name and AOS pending and the officer said he cannot know the reason why it is penidng on the record. He said to us our case might be sent to her (our interviewer) supervisor for final decision since we had never received any request for additional documents to submit since the interview. When the person at the infopass explained to you about supervisor decision, does it really say that on the screen? I think the person just guessed that idea and said that to you.

  4. When you checked at infopass, did you check your status (I-485)? I think it is still pending since your finger print has not been taken at the biometrics for EAD. From my understanding, your finger print has to be taken at biometrics for FBI fingerprint check, then the result is to be sent to USCIS. Since you have been approved for GC interview, your officer still needs FBI fingerprint check and FBI name check. I think you will have to make an appointment (application process?) for the EAD.

  5. This is updated. The follwoing is the message I wrote 10days ago.

It has been 2 months already since our interview and getting worried now... There was a reason why we should be worried....

The interview we had went just fine and the officer even told us that we got approved and GC would be sent within a few weeks. However... during the interview, when the officer left office for making a copy for our marriage certificate, my husband said to me that he didn`t know I came to the cityhall with my friend when we met there for the first time. He was surprised to know that when I told about that to the officer during the interview and he wanted to make a commnet on that as soon as the officer went out of the room. We also said how hard her questions were and that was all. soon the officer came back to the room and asked some more questions and approved us. I didn`t even make a big deal about this conversation with my husband at that time.

Now, I am really worried that the officer might check the hidden video somewhere in her room and deny our case due to our conversation.

Today, I went Infopass and asked them why I have not received GC yet. A lady checked her pc and gave me a pieace of paper showing my name and status stating that "pending". I asked my case why my case is still pending while the officer said to me we were approved at the interview date. The lady said she has no idea why it is pending and we have to wait another 6months. I asked her if I can recieve a stamp on my passport so that I can go travel, but she said they no longer give stamps there. It is so weird since I saw one guy getting a stamp on his passport back in May at the Infopass. I asked her if I can talk to her supervisor about this. Then her supervisor ( much nicer than her and friendly) showed up and explained to me why they don`t give stamp anymore. The thing is that there were 5 poeple got the stamp and used that for wrong doing in a country ( I do not put the name of the country here) so they changed the policy. He said to me just wait for a while and come back if GC has not come within 6 months...

Now I am wondering why the officer said to us that we are approved in the first place. Or She changed her mind after wating the video tape? I am so confused now. I dont even know why it is pending. :(

  6. The post office didn't bother to forward it either. They also have my forwarding info. I went in to ask about it friday and got a shug of the shoulders.

    "whatareyagonnado?"

It was good that your ex-roommate noticed the mail. Post office cannont forward any letters sent by uscis. So maybe it is better to let them know what happened at the infopass to make sure it wont happen again.

  7. I understand there are at least 2 results from FBI, 1 is the simple fingerprints, the other, the name check. My finger prints result were returned before the interview date (on the biometrics date) but I guess the name check took longer.

I see. I didn`t know there are 2 checks at FBI. Thank you for the info. I tried to call USCIS yesterday just to see if I could get something about my case even if I had already made an infopass for next week. My case on USCIS screen has been the same since May 2006 when they replied to me for the receipt for an additional info. Even after received interview mail from them in July 2006, the screen note remained the same. So, anyway, I called USCIS and asked for my case, then the lady who answered the phone checked my case and said to me, "we receive your birth certificate as a additional info in May and please wait until we inform you on your case." She just read my case on the screen..and did not know if I had an interview... Even more, she asked me if I am applying for GC renewal...? I hope people at Infopass will have more detail than looking at the screen which I can even check here at home...

  8. It was right there on the monitor, no hidden camera. No we do not have a lawyer, thy won't be able to do anything anyways. The reason we were not contacting our Senator, was because when we went to the office, we were told that we shouldn't rush anyone. Well, today is our 2 year anniversary and I called our senator to get help on this case.

    Hi Miwa,

Congratulations on your 2year anniversary! Hope everything will go just fine (F) I will go to infopass next week and will post what is going on.

  9. when we had our interview, officer told us it was being video taped..

    Hi juiya,

I am very sorry that happened to you and really feel that could happen to me too at the moment. I`d rather have another interview again if I could... Do you have a lawyer to help you with your pending case? It sounds very unfair to just ignore your GC for such a long time even after you have passed the separate interview. I saw an article talking about a couple that had been called for the second interview and the officer approved them right after the interview and granted for GC. I really doubt if they have been investigating your marriage for 1.5 year.. sounds like they just keep pasting the same word on your record without updating. Even other serious criminal cases cannot hold the investigation due to the tight budget. Hope you can find the way to talk to people and settle the ongoing issue.

As for the video at your interview, was it hidden or placed ?

  10. Thank you for the advise miwa. I will bring my passport just in case. Just wonder how you know your GC is pending for FBI security name check. My case will be different since I had already done with biometric before the interview and my name is not really popular so it is easy to get checked up. I reallly feel peaceful now for receiving advices from nice poeple thank you very much. (F)

Miwa, Thank you for the reply. so you mean that FBI result had actually returned to the USCIS before the interview date?

  12. Thank you for the reply. Just made a infopass next week to see what is going on. I saw the website where poeple mention not to talk about interview questions nor make comments when an officer happen to leave room for copy or something because they can always use the video tape to see what they talked about and can deny the case later. I am worried if the officer would wonder why my husband didn`t know I came to the cityhall with my friend when he met me there for the first time... :( I hope all the stress and worry goes away after infopass next week. I am so tired...

I talked to our lawyer about this and he said that it is reallly rare to put hidden video camera in the room to check the conversation and if they video the couple, it is usually in the place they can notice. I am so stress out over this every day and just regret that we had that kind of conversation in the room...

  14. Hi, I am sorry to hear that. I think some poeple sometime takes more time than others. Don`t know why..

We had an interview one month ago and still have not receive any letter even if the officer told us GC will be sent within 2 weeks. So, delaying is not a surprise anymore. You concern about I-94 that was taken by the officer. I read a lot of stories and offcier usually take your I-94 since they think GC will be issued very soon. It is very incovenient for us to not carry any ID with us that shows some kind of legal status. Most of the case, people apply for EAD when apply for GC, so they can receive EAD before GC arrives. I think you didn`t apply EAD? At the moment, it might be too late to apply for EAD since you will receive GC before EAD I think. So, only thing you can do is to wait for GC wthout getting stressed out.

  15. We had an interview almost 1 month ago and the officer told us we got approved and will receive green card in 2 weeks. However we still have not received it yet. No welcome letter, no other mail. Also, I am wondering if the officer might have changed her mind after watching our interview that was video taped. I think I looked very nervous at the interview, but who cannot look nervous at the interview?? My husband says I am just paranoid and stressed out and told me to stop waiting and thinking about it anymore. Is there anyone who got disapproved after your interview officer approved once?? :(
