Hi everyone! So I finally spoke to a human at USCIS! On the 14th we were transferred to Texas, then on the 16th our file was sent back to Nebraska, where we originally filled, who is still processing August 9th. The woman said that based on our PD of 10/27/2016 and how many files they are processing per day we are looking at around 90 DAYS
until the NOA2/decision is made. This is insane and based on that and current processing times at the NVC our whole process wont be over until late October or November! I am really hoping that someone has different information and this woman was crazy or something
really, really sad that they seem to be up to 8 months on I-130 approval times.
That's really crazy.. My file was transferred to somewhere that I still don't know where exactly. (I guess it is Texas service center like others)
I was strongly believing that my file was transferred until yesterday but I guess some cases were went back to its original center. I think I should call USCIS to check if my file was sent back to Nebraska like your case.

5 months no news yet for october 2016??
No news except just being transferred. Some got hard copy notification by mail that says where their file got transferred but in my case, I'm still waiting for the mail and that means, I still don't know where it was sent. Lot of people estimate that October files will be processed in mid/end of April.

I feel Nebraska was so backed up that they sent several cases to other Centers such as Texas or Potomac, to speed up the process. For some reason last month was really really slow everywhere, but for some reason all Centers are catching up and cases are being processed. This is good news and gives us hope.
I'm also thinking we will hear back in April (also fingers crossed).
Yes, you are right. I'm expecting to see a big catch-up on next update in USCIS website. I'm planing to prepare documents for next process with NVC in April (birth certificate, police report, tax report and stuff...) by the way. I want them to be ready before I get an approval so that I don't waste a single second on this. However, it seems pretty complicated after getting an approval. For instance, I need to call NVC to get a case number, set my husband as an agent, pay some fees and wait for barcode sheet is generated ... I hope we can also discuss about next process around next month and some tips for preparing all the documents to save some time when October filers all get an approval!

Hi,
Yes, I received a letter in the mail and it indicated our case was transferred to Texas Service Center. There was no indication on any instructions to follow.
I see! So even some of filers from early October 2016 were sent to Texas too...

According to September filers, all transfer cases are getting approved,so those of u October filers whose cases have been transferred,I guess same will apply to u as soon as they start approving October filers
What you said really helps me to feel relieved. I hope everything goes well as you said...

I agree. Our NOA1 is 10/04/16 and we were transferred to Texas Service Center on 02/22/17. We haven't heard anything and have no idea if we will be sent to the end of the line or at what point our case will be looked at. All we can do is wait.
Hello,
Did you learn that your case was sent to Texas service center when you received the hard copy mail from USCIS? All I can see on USCIS website is that my case was transferred. and also it says, "Follow the instructions in the notice." What instructions are written in the letter? The letter has the information which service center your file has been sent to and what instruction you should follow? Thank you!

Looking through the September 2016 filers board, a lot of the people who were transferred from Neb to Tex have had their cases approved quite quickly.
Heres a link to the Visa Journey timeline search comparing people receiving NOA2 from Nebraska and those who were transfered to Texas. Looks like transfers are getting approved much quicker. Nebraska seems to still be approving late August filers, while filers from late September who were transferred to Texas are getting approved at the same time.
Hi, the link you posted helped me to have at least a vague assumption when my file will be looked over in case it was transferred to Texas (Not sure yet where it was sent but majority people seemed to be sent to Texas. Thank you for your post.

Hello! My PD is 10/27/16 and we were transferred on the 16th of this month. Ive been wondering if we will be processed as soon as the new facility receives it or will we have to wait behind everyone already there? Tried googling but couldn't find anything about how transfers affect processing times.
Hi, we both filed I-130 on the same date but yours was transferred to a new service center a week earlier than mine. Did you receive a hard copy mail saying where you got transferred to? what kind of information was written in the hard copy mail? What I read on "my status" online, I should follow the instructions in the notice. Could you please share the info with me if you received it by mail already?

My PD is 10/11/16,but I never got any letter or info of a transfer,it only thing my case status is "case received"
As far as I know after reading others' comments related to "being transferred to a new service center", only those who filed I-130 between October 27 and October 31 got transferred. So in your case, I assume the file remains in Nebraska. I don't know if being transferred is better than remaining with NSC because we are not sure whether we are at the end of the line in a new service center.

Hi, I joined to this thread today and posted my timeline. I sent out my I-130 on October 27 and received the first notification on Novemver 3.
and I checked my case status today on USCIS website, and as everybody who filed late October 2016 wrote their files has been transferred to somewhere, I also saw the same message. It said my case was transferred to a new service center on March 23, 2017 and I'm waiting for a hard copy of it by mail. (I think I saw someone said hard copy mail arrived in a week from a date the file has been transferred.)
This is getting a little frustrating since the process has been slowed down since December 31. It took a month for them to process 5 days of filers.
(As of December 31, 2016, they were working on August 2, 2016 file and as of January 31, 2017, they worked on August 9, 2017.)
I can't think of any other excuse than D. Trump.

Today, I received hard copy mail saying our file was transferred to Texas. So I called USCIS and entered my LIN number. The automated machine said my file was sent to Nebraska. So, I think my case is exactly same as yours (transferred to Texas and then to Nebraska again). This is so discouraging.....
But as someone said above, some early September filers are getting an approval. so I hope our turn comes soon..
