  1. Hey guys! So it's been such a hectic week but our interview was on may 8! my husband FINALLY got his visa! Thank god because we were so stressed out and everything went smoothly. They didn't ask him for much, just how we met, where we met, when did he know he wanted to marry, how long have we been married and that's all! His visa was appeoved on the spot. His interview was Monday, we were able to pick up his visa on Thursday. So only 3-4 days! Currently looking for a flight to book for in early July. I really wish you all the best of luck and thank you to everyone on here for all the advice and help!

    Hi Guys,

Our CC was confirmed today by calling the NVC.

There is no interview scheduled as of yet.  Does anyone have an idea on how long after CC an interview takes to get scheduled?  We are hoping for a May interview.

    Thanks :)

Took us two weeks after case complete exactly! Got our case complete over the phone, one week later got the confirmation email, then another week later got our interview date!

Hi everyone. New to this but very glad I found it! We just sent our documents to nvc March 28th. From the looks of it we have quite a wait 😞 does anyone know about how long it takes for them to receive and scan? And if they are sending notices when they receive it?

For us it took them about 4 days to we got scan date. No they didn't send us a notice, we had to call them to find out when it was received and scanned! Goodluck!

    MY VISA GOT APPROVED!!! :D

    Scan Date: 12-23-2016

    Case Complete: 03-06-2017

    Interview: 04-03-2017 (Tokyo Consulate)

My interview schedule was at 9am. I went in with my husband (but I was interviewed alone) around 8:30 and finished around 9:45.

    Interview Questions:

    1. How did you guys meet?

    2. When did you meet?

    3. When did you start dating?

    4. When did you guys move in together?

    5. When did he propose?

    6. Have you met any of his family or friends?

    7. Where and when did you get married?

    8. Why are you moving to the US?

Aaand that's it! They didn't ask for anything in particular other than the original copies of civil documents, and I didn't even get to open the three thick binders of documents I brought with me lol. :D

To everyone still waiting for their interviews, please don't be like me who stressed so bad and barely got any sleep in the days leading up to the interview. I was such a nervous wreck but the interview turned out really easy. As long as your documents are all in order, you really have nothing to worry about!

Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement! Good luck to everyone still waiting for interview dates and actual interviews!!! :D

So happy for you! Congratualtions! Wish you the best luck in life!

the website provide good info, find the PDF of ur embassy

for my case, I brought all the document I sent to NVC (AOS and IV document)

and some of update document, such as 2016 W2, police certificate....etc.

I think they focus on more about civil document, cos u have to bring original document to interview

also, if there is any update about AOS document, is better to bring it

Yeah I think so too! Thank you so much for the info!

Diana94, I am assuming that NVC has your and/or your sponsor's 2013, 2014 and 2015 income tax information.  What they are asking for is the 2016 tax information, as your interview takes place AFTER 2016 taxes are due.  They want you to fill out a new I-864 with 2014, 2015 and 2016 information.  If you/your sponsor does not have a 2016 transcript, then you must bring a full copy of you/your sponsor's 2016 tax return and all documents that prove the income of you/your sponsor (W-2, 1099s, etc.).

It's one of the hazards of interviewing just after the Tax Deadline of April 15th.

PLEASE NOTE:  Not all embassies ask for this updated tax information.  Follow the instructions in your letter!!!  If they don't ask for it, and your interview is after April 15th, have the information with you, but do not volunteer it unless they specifically ask for it.

Thank you so much for the info! I will take my 2016 tax information from my sponsor just in case. Do you think I shoudk fill out a new I864 for me and my sponser also? Or just for my sponsor?

  9. So my husbands interview is on may 8, and this is a part of the interview letter. I don't understand. We already sent that form in to the nvc. Why do we have to send it again. Do we have to send the one for the petioner or the sponser? My brother n law sponsored for us because I don't work so I don't have income.

** The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of

the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return and any relevant W-2s.

If so that means we're going to have to redo the form considering we have already sent it over to them without making a photocopy of it. Any help ?
