I received my full Permanent Resident card in the mail today. It took two days from mailing date, and five from the initial approval. It's the old design, FWIW.

Just to recap on my RoC process:

CSC

06/08/16 - NOA

07/08/16 - Biometrics appointment.

(10 months pass...)

05/18/17 - I made an InfoPass appointment.

06/01/17 - Attended InfoPass appointment. Got passport stamped.

06/15/17 - I sent a service request.

06/26/17 - New card ordered.

06/29/17 - New card mailed.

06/30/17 - Received a response from service request which provided a USPS tracking number for mailed card.

07/01/17 - New card in hand.

We're delighted to have this process behind us. It's been four years since we initially filed I-130, so it's been a long road. Thanks to everyone who shared advice and best of luck to those still waiting.

I received notification today (6/26) that says, "New Card Is Being Produced"!

CSC! Finally. 383 days since NOA.

I suggest you contact your Senators office and ask them to look into it your situation. 

 

I called the USCIS's support line 4 times asking about the cause of our processing delay. In each case I noted that we were approaching what I thought was the end of our 1-year extension (NOA1 date). Not one of the agents mentioned that the extension was based on the GC expiration date and not the letter's date - I had to learn that on this forum. They were absolutely no help at all.

Thanks, Jim. I'm not holding my breath. However, my case is no longer within the "normal" times since my NOA was June 8 and they claim they have moved to June 9.

My GC expiration is 6/11. I made the appointment exactly 2 weeks ago.

Edit: My NOA was 6/8/16, so I filed I-751 pretty close to GC expiration. However, I still believe that the actual extension end date was one year from the date on the card itself.

I had my InfoPass appointment in Minneapolis this morning. It was pretty quick and painless.

I was called to a window within seconds of checking in at the front desk. The officer knew I would need an I-551 stamp before I said anything, and basically gave the impression that it's become a frequent request. He mentioned that he needed to do a quick background check before issuing the stamp, and had me wait for about 15 mins before calling me back to the window again. Then he handed back my passport and explained the purpose of the stamp. Done.

Some notes:

-He took my expired Green Card, stating that the stamp was sufficient now.

-The stamp has a raised seal and says "Employment Authorized," which is nice.

-When I asked about my case, he looked on the computer for a minute and just said that CSC is processing June 7, which of course is not new info.

The whole process was 20-25 mins.

The one-year anniversary of my GC's expiration is coming up on 6/11, so I'm relieved to be able to say that I have an InfoPass appointment with the St. Paul, MN office next week. It took more than a few weeks of checking multiple times a day to find an open time slot, but they finally started opening up last week. The office went through a move to Minneapolis in April (even thought it's still being referred to as "St. Paul," for now), which probably didn't help things.

As others have said, the stamp offers peace of mind for those who may need proof of status in the interim between the extension letter expiring and the new card being produced. My wife and I have some significant life changes coming up this summer, which includes moving to a different state. Such a process brings up a whole host of circumstances in which I may need to provide immediate proof of status. I also would like to be able to travel back home in short notice in case of family emergency, without having to worry about complications upon re-entry.

Hi, I've not posted on here before but I am a June filer (still waiting--I'll check dates later) and have been keeping an eye on this thread for obvious reasons. I just wanted to share my experience with travelling on the extension letter, since some folk seem to be anxious. I travelled to Ireland (via Amsterdam) in March for 12 days, leaving and re-entering US through Minneapolis-St. Paul airport (MSP). The only issue I had during re-entry was that I wasn't able to use the self-service machines, but had to talk to one of the regular border officers. The machine itself stated this when I attempted to use it.

I handed the officer my expired green card and extension letter, and I'm pretty sure he didn't even really look at the letter at all. Just a quick glance. He swiped my card and seemed be satisfied with whatever came up on his computer screen. This leads me to believe that the extension shows in the system itself. I would still carry the letter, obviously, but my impression is that the border officer has access to whatever info they need--including the extension date--once they pull your profile in the system.
