@crazykiwi Do you desire to be a US citizen? If you’ve been married for three years to a US citizen you can file N-400. At some field offices, the N-400 will be allowed to proceed to the interview stage and this will accelerate the I-751.

I have an N-400 in since March. It seemed to jump start the 751 application. At this rate I will have my citizenship interview before the green card (5 months to wait according to USCIS website).

I feel so trapped here. I can't go visit my family, I can't change jobs nothing.

  2. I filed 751 in November 2019.

July 2nd 2021 they sent a request for more evidence, which I provided and more.

July 30 2021 they sent me a message saying they have received my evidence.

August 25th they sent a message saying it was transferred to my local office (no idea which one) to have an interview scheduled.

I never recieved the notice for an interview, and on September 25th I submitted the "Missing notice" form as instructed. They said they would get back to me by 10/15, which is today, I have heard nothing.

I submitted the "Case outside normal processing time" form as according to the USCIS website it is now outside the normal processing time. No response there either.

I don't know what else I am meant to do at this point. I don't even know which office it was transferred to.

Can anyone share some advice or words of wisdom? The stress of having this over me is really starting to take it's toll mentally and physically.

  3. Hello I filed in Nov 2019 for condition removal. It ended up at the Potomac center which seems to be the slowest of the lot. I've had my biometrics etc and now it seems to have just...stuck....

My 18 month extension letter expires in May. The USCIS estimate is 18 to 20 months. Do I need to try and get an extension on that original letter or just sit out another couple of months until I get the green card?

  4. Hello all,

I had my wallet stolen about a month ago. In it of course was my GC. (Never doing that again)

I filed my application to have my conditions removed from my 2yrGC last November (2019). I had my biometrics in January.

If I do an application for a replacement Green Card it will take 12 months, possibly longer now. Not to mention costing me $550. Either way I won't have a physical GC when the time comes to possibly have my interview for my 10yr GC. I'm also technically eligible to apply for naturalization in November.

All my process so far has been very smooth and painless, albeit lengthly. Now I'm genuinely concerned about what to do.

    What do I do???

  5. Hi all

I saw my status change for my AOS from K1 to green card on June 20th to Ready to Schedule Interview and was very happy. However nothing has happened since then. We moved from California to Maryland, and updated the address appropriately. The address change has been registered. I did my biometrics appt in April in California before we moved. I recieved my work permit in July about two weeks after I changed my address to my current one.

My question is now how long do I wait? It seems the Maryland office is one of the slowest. Joy. I am worried it's become lost in the system.

As stated above your K1 visa was not valid as soon as you entered the country with it, but that ability to stay under is valid for 90 days.

As you have already filed for AOS and received your NOAs then you are fine and you can use the NOA1 showing thst you did file for AOS and you are good. Did you file for AP and EAD as well or just AOS?

Yes I did file for AP and EAD at the same time :) Hopefully that shows it's face soon.

Thank you all for your prompt answers, I will make a wee baggie with copies of my passport and entry stamp, the I-94, the marriage cert and my NOAs. Hopefully won't be needed but will be important to have.

  7. I've sent away my AOS packet, have recieved my physical NOAs and have my biometrics appt coming up very shortly. My question is, my K1 visa expires on the 26th of this month, so what becomes my document to say I am allowed to be in the States? Like, something I can carry that says I am not over staying I am allowed to be here while my AOS is processed?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Kali

  8. Hi all,

Just a question if I may.

I'm filing my I-131 Advance Parole and I-765 Work Permit documents alongside my Adjustment of Status documents, in the one packet, paying the one fee. My question is do I need to supply extra copies of the supporting documents those two forms require? What I mean is the total packet already includes copies of my passport, birth cert etc etc and those two forms seem to require copies of those too including more passport photos etc.

So if I'm sending it all in one packet do I need to include the extra copies of passport and photos etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
