Agree with @jan22 Administrative Processing will take time. Few days to few weeks to months as well. Hope his passport comes through fast so that you both can be here during the holiday season Do not make any travel plans until your have your passport in hand.

But remember, every Embassy or Consulate has different IV workload and staffing patterns. What is possible at one Embassy/Consulate may not be the norm for another. Not trying to be negative, and hope yours comes through just as quickly, but don't make travel or other plans based on this. Wait until you have the passport/visa in hand before doing so.

Manuela Santos got a reaction from Josiah angela in Hello! Finally received our NOA2!!!!
My experience has been pretty crazy so I wanted to give you all an update. They received my petition March 22, 2017 and my hard copy NOA1 notice was dated March 28,2017. I signed up to receive email notification and text message. I never received either. I checked online EVERYDAY and NOTHING!!!!!! When I got home on Saturday July 15 my hardcopy NOA2 was in my mailbox!!!!!!!! The USCIS website is clearly not updated or even running properly as I checked again this morning and the last thing stated for my case is the NOA1 from March.
Also, my NOA2 is dated July 7, 2017 and I didnt receive it until July 15 so it took a whole week before we knew we were approved. I am hopeful that many of you March filers will hear something very soon. It's clearly a system problem so check your mail and keep your head up!!!!!!

Manuela Santos got a reaction from kels89 in We have our case number
I did not expect this process to go this FAST after receiving our NOA2! We recieved our case number and notice to proceed from the Consulate in Dominican Republic on July 25, 2017 via email. That was only a week after we received our NOA2 hardcopy. We are in the process of getting everything in order (the plan is to bring his 6 yr old son as well) and hope to schedule our interview in the first week of September. The anxiety is finally over and now we are just EXCITED!!!!!
