Hey wise_hawk, so you've been waiting a month so far...thats just too long. When were you placed inline? and do you of anyone else from nyc still waiting?

  2. Both my husband and I passed our interview today. I was called on time, my husband had to wait about half an hour, we kind of worried they forgot about him, because everybody else had already left. Turns out we both got the same set of civics questions. My husband never registered with Selective Service, but since he's now 36 they didn't even mention that. He did attach a letter explaining why he didn't register with his original N-400 packet though, I guess that helped. His IO asked him about our joint sponsor for our GC, which was kind of weird, but other than that I'd say it was a pretty standard interview. We would like to travel abroad in 2 weeks, so we both requested our oath to be delayed. While nothing is set in stone, both IOs said they would add a note to our files to postpone our oaths, mine to be scheduled sometime in July, my husband might have to wait until September, at least that's what they told us. We don't have anything in writing, but they both said it should be ok for us to go. Overall really happy with the outcome, we both passed and we both can travel, which we were afraid we wouldn't be able to do until after the oath. Good luck to everybody else.

Congrats to you and your husband Suaya415!!!!

Hey guys, I have a question about being stuck in name check and how to clear things up. I've recently filed my N400 application and completed my fingerprint last month. My question to you guys is that I worked on a ship for the pass five years and last year when I got back to the country, I was pulled into a small room and questioned for about 45 mins by the immigration officer, when I inquire as to what the issue might be, I was told that a criminal( someone they where looking for) and I share the same name. I recently went thur the same situation again, while gaining readmittance. So, I was wondering if my name will get held up in name check for my N400, and if yes how do I clear this up. Thanks for help in advance.

  6. My Mom married my stepfather who as already filed for me back in 2001. The marriage took place beafore my 16th B-day. My interview was back on 5/25/07, the IO told me that my mom papers had to be approved first, so i was looking for another way around. So i was thinking if my stepfather adopted me then what esle can they say...i've been living with them on and off for the past 18 years.

  7. Hi all, happy superbowl sunday...I'm hoping to get some help. Does anyone knows which office I must send my application to renew my work permit. I'm living in New York City. The last time i believe I mailed my app to the chicago lockbox address, with the new changes do i mail my app to the Vermont Service Center...is there anyone in NY going thru the same process. Any help will be great.

  8. Hi everyone, my lawyer told me that he filed my waiver back in june of 06 at 26 Federal Plaza. We have not heard anything back so far as to if they got it or what. Is this normal, i guessing that nothing is normal with uscis. Is there anyone in the same situation? What must I do next to find out whats going on with my waiver. The sad part is that I actually wrote the waiver and handed it to my no good lawyer, so i'm not sure what he mailed in....I need HELP.
