Where did you book your medical? I'm trying to book in a clinic in Melbourne and they are being really strict and are not allowing to book without the appointment letter.
Oh that's weird. With sonic health. The woman was very casual about it. The details are on the pre-interview checklist for Sydney on the NVC website. There's two different ones. One in Toorak and one in the city.
Phone number is 1300 763 822 (that's the number in my confirmation email)

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the interview appointment letter in the email?
Our interview date was scheduled on May 5th for June 6th and still haven't heard anything so it's been more than a week now.
We are getting worried because we can't schedule the medical without the appointment letter.
We called NVC multiple times and they mentioned that they have notified the supervisor but still no progress.
Anyone in a similar situation?
I haven't received mine either but was able to book the medical no problem. They didn't even ask for my case number but it could depend on the country. I think they're quite slow with sending the email.

I'll be flying into LA and staying there for a couple of nights first. I've done the MEL-SYD - DFW- AUS - couple of times and it kills me.
I think ill take the Texas heat over a Melbourne winter. But don't quote me on that!!

Roughly how long does it take for your status on CEAC to switch from at NVC to in transit once an interview has been booked. Our interview was scheduled yesterday so haven't received the letter yet. It's only in three weeks though so need to get organised:)

Great news about your interview date . You are going to have to c change your vj name soon. Wont be frustrated much longer !!
Lol. I know. I don't think I will want to look at anything immigration related for quite some time after I get that visa in my hand. Happy to go back to my care free, relaxed self:)

We lived outside Melbourne so it tok an extra day.. interview Tuesday, passport arrived Friday.... have you got an interview date yet?
Wow. So quick. My interview is 6 June. I live in Melbourne so now I'm hoping I get it back earlier than the ten days as per the interview checklist.

We're on the Gold Coast. Interview on Tuesday - passport on Friday.
If you are in a smaller city, it might take longer for AusPost to get it to you.
Also - one reason people are freaking out about getting your tickets before your visa is in hand is that just AFTER our visa was printed, the software that prints the visas (world-wide) went down (July 2014), and all visa printing was halted for more than a week. While I don't think that will happen again any time soon, there are always wacky issues.
But...we had our interview on July 1st, and I'd already bought tickets for July 15. Just letting you know that some of us book tickets even though we know better.....
Good luck!

That's interesting about getting passports back so soon. I guess what it says in the pre interview checklist isn't always accurate since it's not the first thing I've noticed that is slightly wrong. I remember the printing issue. What a nightmare that was.
i have a ticket already booked that was going to be for a holiday in June since we thought it would take longer than this (before I knew about EP) but I'll be changing it. The dilemma is do I wait until I have my passport in hand and change it last minute or change it now. I have to give two weeks notice at work and move out of my apartment so lots to coordinate.
Interview 6 June so not a lot of time to get organised.

Unless it has changed recently, visa is valid for six months from the date of the medical, not visa issuance..
That I'm not concerned about. I'll be leaving a few weeks after my interview. I'm more concerned with how long it takes to get my passport back.

Does anyone have an average time it takes for the Sydney consulate to return your passport after a CR1 interview? I've read somewhere 10 business days to print the visa and return. I'm trying to plan my exit from Australia but don't to book my ticket too early.

Soo, I asked my wife to call to see if we have an interview. Thinking we'd give it one last try this week. OMG - June 6 interview!!!! I'm stuck at work so excited and in shock:)

Hi folks, what are your thoughts on VJ estimated processing times on the profile timeline page? Anyone found it to be accurate?
You have to go by the official website which is not VJ. The number of people who post on here is a tiny percentage compared to the actual number of applications that get sent in. If you want to enquire about your case they only accept the timeline on the official website so the VJ timelines are really redundant. Yes, they may give you a small indication of when you're case might be approved but it's not completely accurate.

You need a copy of your US passport
Unless the I864 asks for it (we did I864EZ) you don't need a copy of the US passport. It's not a required document and we didn't send it and have CC.

Does anyone know if any interviews have been scheduled today? I'm wondering if with the errors last week they'll continue scheduling June interviews this week.

Just wanted to update you guys on my case. The interview was schedule on June 13 at Montreal, Canada on may 5. So I called today since I didn't receive any letter, they said they have unscheduled the interview due to an error. So now I am waiting again for an interview date. cc-april20. I wonder if it's happening at all other embassies too.
Really sorry to hear that. Seems to have been multiple errors this last week or so. It's happened to Rio also. Hopefully they will reschedule asap for you.

Thanks! Anyone have recent experiences with your case being complete? Just so we know what the actual time from receive date to CC is taking?
With manual processing you're looking at an 11 week wait.

Still no luck with an interview. I asked if they're still scheduling for australia and he said he hasn't been told they've stopped. I'll call back before they close and check again. Starting to think it won't be happening in June 😤.

Does anyone know how long it takes nvc to schedule an interview...I called and confirmed cc on May 9th but I haven't received an email yet and do they also stop scheduling after the first 2 weeks of the month? Im confused does anyone know
It really seems to depend on the embassy as to how long they will continue to schedule interviews. It's all a matter of whether there are any time slots still available. I had CC on 5/5 but still no interview. Haven't called today though so fingers crossed there's one waiting for me:)
Last month they were still scheduling up to around the middle of the month. I would imagine if you don't have one by the end of the week it would be unlikely you'd get a June interview. That's how I'm looking it for myself but you never know. Good luck!

The Case Status web page at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do changed today, so there is progress!
"On May 9, 2017, we sent your case, Receipt Number LINxxxx, to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."
You should really just keep calling them. They will always tell you the longest amount of time that they can take but mostly case #, invoices etc are ready much faster.
Also, you will now qualify for uploading documents to CEAC instead of emailing so it should make things quite fast for you.

doubt if they are looking to schedule interviews for the month, someone here would have heard. Sadly there have been no interview scheduling since last week.
There was someone from Canada who had an interview booked Monday. Can't remember their name but I'm hopeful they're still scheduling. It was for a CC last Tuesday so almost a week later the interview was booked.

So my lawyer submitted my docs 5/4. Today (5/9) I got an e-mail saying he was missing the marriage cert. but it is in the documents so I guess we'll resend it. Also he missed one of my W2's from 2016 but they just want us to bring that to the interview. they might have missed the Marriage cert as it was on the same page as my wife's birth Cert. I plan on calling the NVC tomorrow to make sure. But I am happy that they are moving so quickly!
I had a similar issue with the NVC saying some of my documents were missing. They weren't. We ended up emailing them again and our case was then reviewed in 24 hours. We battled with them for a few days about it before we sent them, but I recommend not even bothering trying to get to the bottom of it with them, they'll just say they don't have whatever is on the checklist. My advice would be to just send whatever they want again.

CC 5/2
Interview scheduled 5/8
Interview 6/19
YAY!
Congrats. My CC was 5/5 but I haven't called this week yet. I was thinking of giving it another couple of days. I don't want to get my hopes up for a June interview (although I know they already are).

I've just had my case complete this week for CR1. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to schedule an interview in Sydney? I just read that they only do visa interviews on Tuesdays mornings. That severely limits the chance of getting one for June I would imagine. Fingers crossed not many other Aussies are moving to the US the same time as me😜

I was just reading on the pre-interview checklist for Sydney that they only hold visa interviews on Tuesday mornings. That severely limits the chance of getting an appointment early. What a pain!

Has your status on CEAC changed to in transit? Mine still says at NVC but I'm not sure how quickly they send everything to the consulate once they've booked the interview.
