Hi I'm just about ready to send in my I-485 AOS packet along with many of the documents that are listed on this website to send with it. I'm a little confused about the
I-693/DS3025.
-The DS3025 needs to be reviewed by a civil surgeon where we will be given a packet that we're not to open, right?
-Anyone have experience with how much this costs? The lady on the phone said $510.00 with reductions once they see what needs to be done and what's complete. Assuming everything is on track (I've checked and it is) how much did you pay?
-Also, the DS3025 is valid for one year, right? I read it starts from the date you sent in the I-485....and I also read because of that you should hold on to the medical packet the civil surgeon gives you UNTIL the interview, so it won't expire during AOS processing. (seems silly...why wouldn't it continue to be valid if it was valid at the time of submission)
Anyone that can clarify?
I also read the I-693 isn't needed IF the DS3025 is all good to go. true? false? HAAAALLLPPP!
Thanks!

Hi there,
Anyone have experience with the I-693 form and DS3025 (proof of vaccination) adjusting status from K1 visa? Trying to gather everything in Korea before heading back to the USA. We've called the facility where the medical was done and they said they don't give out the DS3025, BUT I've read online that's something we need to give the doctor in the US to have the I-693 form filled out correctly and avoid any discrepancy about vacc records.
I've also read that if AOS is pursued within the year of the original medical done for the K-1 visa...an additional medical isn't required.
So...my question is, later if we weren't returned any vaccination record (DS3025) what will happen? Redo vaccines and pay again? Is this something the doctor will be able to pull up on their side and verify? Am I missing something? It doesn't make sense that we wouldn't be given something back that is necessary for the continuation of the process.
Thanks

Hi everyone!
My fiance and I were just approved for our K-1 visa last week and will be heading to the USA together in a few short weeks. I've been looking ahead to the continued SWAMP of a process- that is the Adjustment Of Status (I-485). This website is super helpful with timelines, FAQs, and access to proper forms, but I have a few questions.
1. The (I-485 AOS packet) is $1,140 + $80 biometric fee...to confirm....does that fee cover the (I-765 Employment Auth.) when you include it with the packet? Or do you have to pay the additional fee for each application? (I-765 = $410 ) I read it IS included, but just want to confirm with those who have more experience.
1a. We were thinking of also applying for the Application for Travel Document (I-131) in case of any emergency, would that fee also be covered if submitted under the AOS packet?
2. At our POE (Point Of Entry) will they give us anything back from the packet we present? Particularly things that need to be submitted again- like a birth certificate with English translations, or the DS3025 (medical/vaccination history) that needs to be presented to a civil surgeon. Why do they need the same exact things over again? Ahhhhh!
Sincerely,
Someone trying to save a few thousand dollars

I am in the exact same boat as you. I am in South Korea and sending my i-129 packet from here. What did you tell your bank to get the check that can be cashed in the US? Did it end up working out?
Thank you!
Shellane
Hi ! Yep, I went to my bank and asked for a banker's check. You may want to bring someone who can speak Korean if you don't just in case, but usually someone at the bank speaks English well. Be sure they have the check printed out to US Department of Homeland Security...they'll configure the exchange rate and fee for you to pay in KRW and the check will be made out in USD. When I mailed in the packet via DHL, I had to tuck the check behind a few pages because they said they wouldn't mail checks....but it worked! Good luck!

Not necessarily, could be approved and just taking a while to get to you. Trackers update sporadically.
Gotcha! Thanks again

Hi everyone! Would it be too much to ask if anyone could use their USCIS app to see if there has been any approval or update regarding WAC1790276287 ? I'm an April filer filing from overseas and I've been reading how many people who are early April filers have received NOA2s by now with no update from any app or email or myUSCIS site- just by mail. And I can't get the app to work on my older iphone and snail mail takes a while to get to South Korea. It may be I'm simply still waiting, but if isn't much trouble I thought I'd ask. Thanks! There's such a great support group going on here.

Thanks so much for your reply! I called the consulate here in Seoul and they said I can go to my Korean bank and get a check that can be cashed in the US. I guess that would be a cashier's check or banker's check? Thanks again for taking the time to help!

Hi,
I'm currently living in South Korea and ready to send in my I-129f packet. I just can't seem to figure out how to get the payment figured into a personal check (I don't have a US account currently) or money order. So, I went to a Western Union because I thought they would give me a paper money order, but they said I would only get a confirmation number; which I could give USCIS to collect the payment. I'm a little afraid of sending the packet off with a number. Would they take that method of payment? Anyone have experience sending the packet and paying from abroad? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi I have a few questions about the affidavit requirement and co-sponsorship.
I'm an American that's been working abroad in South Korean for the past two years. Would the US take my Korean salary/taxes/bank info as proof of income on the AOS? I'm a little lost what US citizens who've been working abroad are supposed to do.
My mother has offered to co-sponsor if necessary. My other question is: When co-sponsoring, would we have to plan on living in the same household? I plan on moving to Hawaii when I come back to the US and my mom lives in Indiana. Does that matter?
Thanks for your help

Hi there! Thank you for being so helpful, I actually did discover we have that DS 3025 after all and all the immunizations are up to date....I have one follow-up question. Is there a need to see a civil surgeon if the DS 3025 is good to go? Or we must take the DS 3025 to a civil
surgeon for them to "verify" first. That's the part I'm confused about.
