Got the oath ceremony notice in the mail today. It is next Thursday. Wow fast!

I think my husband's final talk with the officer made the difference on my case! Definitely bring your spouse to the interview if your Naturalization application is based on marriage.

I am in similar situation, how was your case? Can you please share me your experience? Thank you

Thanks. no questions regarding my 20+ trips in the 5 years or employment. Just asked the purpose of the last trip which I included as part of the update form. I filed based on the 3 year rule and the USC spouse did not attend. There is no need for the USC spouse to attend as only the applicant goes in for the interview and if present the spouse must wait outside in the waiting area.

That sound better, there were some cases got denied because of no presence of the spouse. My husband has to go back to my country without me, so hope they wouldn’t ask for his presence. Thank you, and congratulation for the early Oath too.

Btw, have your online status changed since the time you got interview letter until now? Mine is still scheduled for fingerprint even I am already jn line for interview :(

Had my interview today in Philly office. Got there early and the IO called me in within 5 mins of checking in with the receptionist, almost half an hour before my scheduled time. Pretty normal experience with the swearing in, going over the updated forms for international trips, traffic tickets, work address, etc. He said no need to include the speeding tickets if it was just fine and no arrest, probation, etc. He had three large files of paperwork on his desk that he was reviewing. He even said I sent in a lot of support with my application. Didn't ask for any original documents except for passport n GC, or the latest IRS tax transcript for 2016 which I didn't send at the time of application since I didn't have it.

    Questions:

    1. What is the one right of freedom from 1st amendment?

    2. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

    3. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes the President?

    4. There are 4 amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one.

    5. What is one reason colonists came to America?

    6. During the cold war, what was the main concern of the United States?

Then he gave me the writing and reading test. After that was cleared, he asked me questions from the N-400 followed by the gazillion Yes/No section.

He then gave me the N-652 with a "recommended for approval" selected. He asked me to go over to door 3 and wait there for additional paperwork but didn't say what it was.

The IO was very pleasant and even had a conversation about the Eagles at the end and our chances at the Super Bowl.

After about 20 mins of waiting at the other end of the hall, another IO behind door 3 called my name and gave me paper and asked me to fill it out when I come back. When I read it, it was my Oath letter which is scheduled for this Friday 26th. I was pleasantly surprised as I thought I would be waiting for the letter in mail.

Journey is almost over. Couple more steps (oath N passport).

Yeah congratulation:). I have been waiting for a long time. Did IO ask a lot of of updated for employment or international trips? Did you file based on 3 years rule? If yes, did your spouse attend with you?

I did my Interview today. Passed the civic, written and writing test. The IO said everything looks perfect and handed me the N652 decision can't be made. She stated she needs to run thru her supervisor. I had taken a trip after filing the papers but i mentioned it to her. She made it on the file and check my passport. Jokingly says you like going to Netherlands a lot...lol. Any particular reason. I said my younger brother lives there. lol.  She said i should wait for the update in the mail. Again another delay..ggrr

Wow how many times have you been out of country? It makes me nervous now. I came back home couple times already for visiting my parent. It will be really annoyed if they think it is big concern. Good luck to you and me 🤞

Two things I was not prepared for: dates for all travel I took after I applied, had to ask to go out at the lobby and figure out the dates with my wife. Also, I was asked for two passport photos like @Private One. Passed the test, was told the decision should be made within a couple of days. Very nice and professional officer

Did you include passport photo when you filed your application? Where did you have your interview? Hope you will hear good thing soon 🤞

2- who is the chief justice?

    3-when we elect the president?

4- for how many years we elect the representative?

6-who is the father of our country?

And he was very kind ..

    Good luck all 🙏🙏

Congratulation. Did he ask about time you outside us? Employment history in 5 years

No, it shouldn't... if your information is accurate, the maximum time (if you'd been absent for 2 months x 5 trips, + 1 month this trip) you'd have been absent for a total of 11 months out of the past 3 years. You only have to have been physically present for a minimum of 18 months in 3 years. If you'd had trips of longer than 6mo out of the country on one trip, you might have a problem, but this is fine. (Of course it makes me a little jealous that you can afford to travel so much - I wish I could take 2 months to go on a trip!)

Have u been experienced or knwon someone similar like mine? I read and understand about all those, I am just worried that it may affect mine. I have been waiting long time so I dont want to ruin it. Hehe iI still have family back home, that is why I come back often. Trust me, all my money and family's go there 😅😅

I had my interview two days ago and the IO printed a copy of my international travel history, presumably from the DHS database, and checked them against the trips I listed on my N400, including the days I was away for each trip. I also made a trip outside the US after filing the N400 and I just declared that to the IO with passport stamps and flight itinerary to support it. The IO only wanted to know how long I was gone on the trip and since it was less than 6 months, it was not an issue. Make sure that when asked you should be able to tell the IO how many international trips in total that you have made since becoming a PR and declare any trips you made after filing your N400.

I am in the same situation. How many trips that you took during your time including the one after your n400 pending? Did the IO ask why travel many times?

    Hi Guys,

Below is the case I posted a few weeks ago, now i have a update,

    Hi Guys,

I just finished my N-400 interview. I applied based on 3 years marriage. I passed the test, but the decision can not be made yet. The office said because my I-751 is still pending, she needs to see all my documents about my I-751 first, then make a decision on my N-400.

Does that make sense, whats your thoughts?

    Thank you so much !

    Updated:

I just called USCIS, and the officer told me that both my I-751 and N-400 were approved on Jul 12, and I am not gonna received my green card... then I asked, "I did not receive any notice or email about this"... he replied:"its pretty normal, because they did my 2 cases at the same time", and they will mail me a notice about the oath ceremony within next 30-90 days.

Is this normal when you call USCIS, they told u that your case was approved, but you did not receive any email and text from them? Also, if my cases were approved on Jul 12, usually, how long will I receive the letter about my oath ceremony?

Thank you so much and have a nice day!!!!

Did they ask baout your employment or travel history?

    hi

your husband needs to be included, he is part of your household

I'm not sure if it would be 3 on each i864 or household size of 4 if you count both your parents on each i864

but at least 3, you, husband, mom, you, husband and dad

I hope someone who has filed for both parents will chime in

On the introduction, it said that you can just use your tax to file, but I am not sure about including the spouse or not. Someone told me that you can include one parent each i864

    9 hours ago, aleful said:

either way since the petitions are linked

you still have to make enough to cover 4 people, you, husband and both parents

Yeah 4 are a lot. I am little worries now since they have so much confusing.

Hope someone have been this situation can help me.

    hi

you  will submit the i864 as the primary sponsor and count your whole family, regardless of how much you make or don't make. the sponsor must ALWAYS file an i864 for beneficiary.

if you need a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor will count his or her own family on their i864 as joint sponsor, plus the beneficiary which would be your wife

I got confused too, my house is just me and my husband. Howerver, i am thinking about using my tax only to sponsor both my parents. How would they caculate? I:1, mom:1= 2 or me,dad,mom=3 ( you have to file two different package for parents) thank u
