That's a good ideal, however, it does not always work for everyone.  For example, according to USCIS website, local office should be Ft. Myers, FL.  But we had biometrics scheduled in Tampa, FL.  Ft. Myers is a terribly slow office.  Tampa is a very fast office.  We will not know which office will be our "local office" until we get an interview notice.  Of course, we are hoping it is the faster office.

I understand but is just to have an idea. In my case, my husband is schedule to have his biometric done in Bronx, NY but I know that his interview will be in lower Manhattan NYC. Why? Because that's the field office. You can also check in USCIS page and base on your zip code it'll let you know. On the other hand, there's a group in facebook, and I saw people that have their interview date in 4 months but all 3 of them are from California.

  2. Hi everyone, just found this thread. My husband's receipt number also start with MSC. I sent his package May 2. It was received May 6 with notice date May 9. May 17 we received biometric notice dated for May 31. Nevertheless, I think local office should be included so we can have an idea how long the wait once status change from ready to schedule for interview to actually having the interview date. My local office is New York City.

Yari do you have any answers yet? Curious what happens at this stage if expedited! Good luck I hope it passes quickly, As I understand it the processing just continues at the consulate in The embassy. IF you received your package 4 did that have any instructions!!

    Keep pushing!!

hello I called them once they received the case which only took one day and the next day after calling them they sent my husband instructions to proceed with creating the profile and setting up the appointments which I did. I was able to schedule his vac and interview appointments. Now just waiting for the big day.

Hey if you dont mind me asking what was your reason you gave them?

Well I just gave it a try but I started of by saying that i was requesting an expedite due to the long wait time that exceeded 6 months during the uscis stage. Then i mentioned that based on my calculation my husband interview will be schedule around september making it impossible for me to travel.

    Hi everyone.

Just want to ask if I still need a cc?  because we requested for an expedite process at the nvc and they sent us an email stating:

"The U.S. Embassy / Consulate General has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

Any further questions concerning processing or the interview appointment date should be directed to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General."

I dont know what will be the next step. Any advice?

Hi can you tell me what email address did you use to email your expedite request?

Hi Yani! I am in the DR too... but your process has been faster. I just received Noa 2 on April 13 and now waiting for NVC number. Lets see!

Hi.. I called NVC everyday until I received my case number. I was tben able to fill out the ds 261 but had to wait 2 days to be able to make the aos payment. The day after I called again to have ds 261 reviewed over the phone but found out they had already done it that morning. Therefore, today i paid the iv fee and mailed out package. Just call them daily until you get you case number and then have them review your ds261

They're probably still entering your case into the system.  Give it a day or two and it should be fine :)

Hi everyone! Just an update.... on 4/18/2017 I was able to fill out the ds261 4 days after obtaining case number. But, I was not able to make the Aos payment until this morning (2 days later after DS261). I call NVC to have the DS261 review over the phone and to my surprise it was reviewed this morning. Therefore, the representative stated that I should be receiving the invoice fee for the IV in about a week. Hope is true. Hopefully by tomorrow I will send the package.

Hi everyone! My case was received today at nvc but still no case number. Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to get a case number? Just an update pd 9/26/16, noa 2 3/30/17, sent to nvc 4/6/17 and received at nvc 4/13/17.

I just got my case and invoice number today but when I logged in it states the following... Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.
