08/02/2019: Received official receipt notice (I-797) in mail. Receipt is dated 07/31/2019.

    Processing center is Vermont.

    All the best everyone!

How do you know your processing center is Vermont? Thanks!

We answered our own question, It's based of the first digits on the receipt number. Our is being processed in Missouri

  2. Our status update:

Sent package to Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, July 22nd by priority mail.

Arrived by tracking USPS on Wednesday, July 24th to Phoenix.

Received a text message from USCIS on Tuesday, July 30th at 4:42PM with our receipt notice number.

Same day, Tuesday, July 30th our check was cashed.

Today, Friday, August 2nd, we received the 18-month extension letter!

In case anyone was confused like us, to track your case, go to "myuscis" website which is different then the previous one used to track our cases. Once you are logged in then you click on 'my account' in the upper right corner, and then select 'add a paper filed case'. Use your receipt number and it will now link for you to track.

    Cheers!

I submitted the required Form I-864 on Sep 11,2017. Then i received an email from NVC stating that I had a message regarding to my application on Sep 14, 2017. When I logged into my account there was "0" message but I see "rejected on Form I-864 status. So I uploaded another version  on Sep 15,2017. I didn't hear back from the NVC for more than 10 days since I submitted the corrected version. So I called the NVC today (Sep 25, 2017) and the representative said that there is no  indication on my new submission of document. He suggested me to submit it again. However, on my account page, i can clearly see that the document i submitted on Sep 15, 2017 with the status of "SUBMITTED". I am so confuse and I am not sure how i can trust the CEAC. Shall i send another copy in the paper form via mail?

You should check out this forum started for CEAC filers. I've used it for my case and it was super helpful to get advice from others in they process. It's not only for those who submitted for May, but since there are so few of us doing this new route then it's been helpful. Hope it's helpful for you in this process too!  Search for: NVC CEAC UPLOAD FILERS - May 2017

We have our interview on Monday in Rio de Janeiro and we were delayed in receiving a more recent police record that we had submitted to NVC from one state in Brazil. There are 3 police records needed. One that is a federal police, and 2 that are for states that my spouse lived in within Brazil. On the US Consulate General information page it states that if it's over 3 months old we need new ones. We are missing an updated state one (from a state they have not lived in for over a year), but we do have a more recent federal record, as well as an updated record from the state that she has lived in for the past year. We can have the police record on Monday but could be after the interview. My question is do we have to have an updated copy for this lone state police record? Everywhere else online is stating that as long as it's no more than 1 year old it's valid. I'm wondering if anyone else had this issue and what they did. We are hoping to get the record Monday morning and then it shouldn't be a worry, but at this time we are really nervous that this could be an issue. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?

By the way for an update on this...they accepted our other police record that we received in January. It was the first CEAC case that the consular had seen (I guess other staff had seen ones, but it was this persons first time). They stated it would take us up to 2 weeks to receive it back, but he said since our case was so simply we should receive the passport back within a couple of days. So now we anxiously wait. We did purchase a ticket to leave on Sunday for the USA, so we are hopeful that we can get this back by Friday. It's another round of waiting and refreshing the email inbox!

  6. We are looking at the pre-check list that's needed for an interview in Rio de Janeiro, and we had read previously that the police certificates where valid for one year, even though the certificate states for 90 days. Now we are reading the document https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/RDJ - Rio de Janeiro.pdf from the US Dept of State updated in May 2017, that says to bring to the interview ones that you need one that is valid in the past 90 days (the NVC approved ones dated in January just last week). Has anyone else seen a change in this when they received the certificates? We can receive the federal, and a state certificate. But the ones from the state Caera is very hard as we can't get it online and would need to get in person which requires traveling. Anyone have problems if we give one that is issued over 3 months ago to the interview? My spouse has not lived in that state in over a year and it was issued after she no longer was living there.

A VJ member said they received a checklist / W-2 got rejected because NVC needs to see the transcript.

I would like to go for the risk free option.

That's interesting that it was rejected. I'm curious if the other VJ members spouse worked overseas as well and that's why they were sent a checklist? Or maybe if the CEAC system is different in how they view these and not receiving the horrible checklists and wait times that others get. I know they view each situation differently, however, I submitted by AOS documents in the morning, and by the afternoon it was approved on the CEAC system. I only had the required 2016 tax return (and W2), the past 3 W-2s as optional uploads, the past 6 months of paycheck stubs, drivers license and passport bio page. I didn't even submit the past 'optional' tax returns for the previous years that they suggest on the I-864. Though I work within the US and not overseas. Another thing that I've heard is some people got a letter from the employer verifying the start dates of employment and that they are currently working there. From what I've read it seems that the tax return would work, but I know the feeling to be prepared just in case!

Sorry more questions... Husband filed his Tax Single for 2016 (we were married Jan 2017), is there a problem / red flag or we should be fine to submit the transcript as is?

It does not seem to be a problem to me but just in case... Anyone having similar situation?

I don't think this is an issue from anything I've read. I would perhaps recommend him to submit the past 3 years worth of tax records, and then perhaps if you have other documents showing you are financially tied together. But I don't know if that makes a difference. For example, I submitted documents proving that my spouse is on my work insurance. Not sure if they care about this, but wanted to show areas of connection :) Maybe someone else has other thoughts! But I agree in that it doesn't seem like a problem...they just care that there is financial support and evidence backing it.

The options you can select when you upload optional civil documents are:

    Adoption Documentation

    Birth Certificate

    Criminal Court and Prison Records

Form DS-234 Special Immigrant Visa Biodata Form

    Iraqi Family Book

    Marriage Certificate

    Marriage Termination Documentation

    Military Records

    Military-Civilian Identification Badge

    Other

    Passport Biographic Page

    Petitioner's Birth Certificate

    Petitioner's Marriage Certificate

    Petitioner's Marriage Termination Documentation

    Photographs

    Police Certificate

Proof of Legal Residence in Foreign Country

    Proof of LPR Status

    Proof of U.S. Citizenship

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or LPR Status

    Refugee Benefits Election Form

    Translation

I didn't upload any of these as they didn't apply to my case.

I'm guessing they will mark these 'required' for your case if they think its applicable, but you have the option of uploading them if you think it's needed.

Hey everyone, we were able to pay our AOS & IV fees on July 27th, and they were approved as of today to start uploading. I still haven't seen a document from NVC stating they received my case since we called and received our case and invoice number. With that, in the Civil Documents section-one of the required fields is "Photographs". (It's listed as both required and an optional field) Perhaps the document NVC document I'm suppose to receive explains this, but I'm wondering is this just photographs from our relationship as evidence? Or are they wanting copies of my spouses photo (the 2 color photos that are 5cm by 5cm) and just upload this on a sheet of paper into CEAC? I'm confused, and probably thinking through this too hard! Any help on what you all did is appreciated! Thanks!

Hello there! Am from Hong Kong and wonder if CECA upload is different from e-processing?

Does it mean it could be faster than other methods?

Am still waiting for NOA2 btw... Just want to get myself familiarized with the steps...

My understanding is the e-processing is the email processing, where the CEAC is all online through the CEAC portal. So basically it seems like they have 3 processing routes for people at this stage. The CEAC, which looks like what you have, seems to be the fastest and easiest of the 3. Hope that helps!

Any section for CEAC July filers?

My understanding is that this is the only one. USCIS approved my I-130 on 7/3, but this is the only CEAC forum I've found though its dated for May. I think because there is still so few of us going through this new process. I occasionally check out "NVC Filers-July 2017" to see if there is anything on that forum that might be helpful, but I've found it's not as applicable as this one.

  12. Hi All, I called NVC and they received our documents from USCIS and they stated that we should have our case/invoice number in the next couple of days, so I will be calling them everyday to get that to pay the fees online. However, as I'm looking to review my documents (for the 100th time :) ) I see that the Form I-864 has a "Expires 07/31/2017" date on the upper right hand corner. Has anyone else seen this? I'm mailing these documents, and others, to my spouse so she can have during the interview process, but does anyone know if a new form will update really quickly online with a different expiration date? Or will this form work still? I completed it a while back ago, but wondering if I should wait and redo it and submit through CEAC and mail to my spouse..or if the one I've already filled out will work. I don't want to get slowed down (through CEAC or at the interview) for an expired form that they have online. I can always wait till August 1st, since I'm assuming we won't be able to upload anyway till then, but curious if anyone else has seen this!

Wow, that's a long wait time to get an interview date assigned. It seems you were part of the new upload system. Did you try emailing CANVCEDP@state.gov

As you may know, this email is specifically for folks going through the upload system. Also to answer your question, I don't believe there is a separate thread for June upload filers. Not enough applicants for new system yet it seems to have new threads each month.

Is there a separate thread for June 2017 upload filers? My Case Complete date was June 22nd. Still waiting on interview date for Montreal Embassy.

I agree-I've searched around and this appears to be the only thread for this new process. My NOA2 was approved a few days ago, and this is the only thread I've found so far.

  14. We were recently approved of our NOA2 and since my spouse is in Rio de Janeiro then we are assuming we are going this route. With that, we are preparing for the next stages, and I'm curious if anyone uploaded optional documents in Step 4 of the "How to Upload Documents to CEAC" packet. I'm not clear as to what other documents would/could be helpful. Or did most of you all leave this section empty?  https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/images/Uploading to CEAC-instrucions.pdf

  15. I was thinking that we would not have any information today since it's the holiday, but I checked my email, and sure enough we got an email saying it was approved on July 3rd! Wohoo! After 7.5 months of waiting we finally got happy news! The USCIS Case status is also updated to reflect the approval-though it's interesting as they show the update in the system occurred today for yesterdays approval. Perhaps their systems update over night?! Best of luck to everyone and keep up the hope and patience!

Hi all. I have been quietly following this forum and I have to see it's been great for moral support. I haven't had much to say/offer hence no messages. I'm thrilled today to say that I just got my approval!! NOA nov 9th.  Over to another long and dreaded wait!

Super exciting! Congratulations on this happy day! Helpful to see someone else getting approved...can't wait!

    Something more to track lol

So many things to track! Ha!  I'm going crazy, as it seems all of us are, in just waiting for this. It's like we are on mile 25 of the marathon. So close but not there....after 6.5 months of hearing nothing I can see why my eyes are twitching. Not to get into politics, but my lawyer is booked out over a month to see him, and he stated the fees were one issue but also due to the change in political climate so people were rushing to get applications in. Not sure if that's super true, but perhaps another reason there is the high volume! Again-not wanting to get into politics, ha! Keep up the hope everyone! We have made it this far just a bit more to go!

I know it's not impossible, it's case to case. In mine, it would be nearly impossible to provide the required documentation/proof of ties. I'm talking also outside of the forums, since I have read/heard from many other families :)

What proof of ties would be necessary? We have phone bills showing the address of spouse, but she has no job or in school. There are doctors appointments scheduled in the next couple of months, would that be helpful to receive a letter from them verifying the appointment? As well as a return ticket document. We also have our receipt for us submitting our CR1 to USCIS for approval. I've heard of cases where people enter like this and no issue, but more so looking at who was denied at the port of entry (if any) and why they were.
