  1. Thank you!! I appreciate your help. Also, do you happen to know how I would go about filling out the I-751 considering I am not yet married? It asks for marital status and date of divorce, I am filing with the divorce waiver of course but the divorce is not final yet so I’m unsure how to answer. Thanks in advance!
  2. Thank you everyone for your help!! So my next question is, if I wanted to travel, I understand I’d need the ROC (or extension letter). How long will that take once I file for the removal and if filing with the waiver, will they send this before or after the RFE for divorce decree? I am travelling in March back to the U.K. and worried about my return
  3. I am currently going through a divorce and have my court day february 9th, it’s a simple uncontested divorce so the divorce should be finalised and I should receive the divorce decree that day. However, my conditional green card expires february second. Im aware for the removal of conditions I would have to submit the divorce waiver with the decree, but as it expires before I will receive this, what should I do? Im not wanting to do anything that would jeopardise the visa is anyway. Thanks I’m advance for your help!
  4. I am filing for divorce tomorrow, I have everything ready as I’m needing to get it done before my removal of conditions is due in Feb (I know I’m leaving it late, it’s been a crazy year). Anyway, if I choose to do the resumption of maiden name alongside the divorce, how does that affect my green card/ conditions of removal? Should I be updating all those documents immediately with my new name (maiden name) or can this wait as I’ll need to apply for conditions to be removed and hopefully get approved for a 10 year GC?
  5. Thank you so much for this information. What would work as evidence of the marriage? I have joint bank statements showing we had a joint account, pictures etc. What else would be needed?
  6. Hi everyone, I have a temporary green card that expires February next year. I am still currently married, however getting a divorce soon but have to wait until Novemver for the year's minimum separation that my state requires for the divorce. How will this effect my green card status and what steps should I take? I'm aware I have to apply for the removal of conditions 90 days before it expires, but due to having to wait until November to file for divorce, I am worried about what this will mean for the visa process? I hope I explained this well. Thank you everyone in advance for your help.
  7. I took my keys to my apartment so I’m not sure how anyone could get in I know I’ve planned this terribly
  8. Hi, I am on a trip to the U.K. and stupidly forgot the marriage certificate. I usually bring this because my green card is in my married name and my passport and tickets are in my maiden name. I’m kind of panicking because i have no idea how to get over this issue or show proof of name change without the marriage certificate. I’ve tried to look up obtaining it online (it’s a SC certificate) but it isn’t coming up. My trip back home is less than two weeks ago does anyone have any ideas?
