  1. cALL BACK A couple times and see if u get the same answer

When we got our RFE 2 in the mail about 3 weeks ago, PJ had to call the service number too because we had some questions about the papers they still were requested from us to send in. For the first time she really had a helpful lady on the phone answering some important questions we had and what she wasn´t able to answer exactly, she really called an officer with CSC. My honey could hear her talking on the other line asking that guy or lady the questions we had and then she told PJ back what they have said. Don´t know why they don´t connect you straight forward to CSC or any other service center but I guess they will have their orders not to do.

So that was the first time we made good experiences with that service number. I guess it depends a lot on what´s the matter of your call and who answers your call.

Another time, quite a while ago when we just started this journey new, PJ had someone on the phone who, I´m sorry we need to say so, who only was an incompetent, unhelpful, unfriendly if not even rude........well................(better I don´t speak out what´s laying on my tongue right now).

So if you have any questions other than just asking "Can you tell me please when we will get approved finally" it´s worth to call them I guess. If you get the wrong person on the line who sounds rude or incompetent to you so just try it a second time. I´m sure there is not only one person answering the phones and some of them might be even willing to understand and to help you. You always will find some "Black sheep" in Call Centers they are not really in the mood to work and better had left their butts at home.

    Goodluck

  2. I would like to do a K1 Visa for my fiancee, and while it seems stright forward enough I would like to enlist some professional help. Not necessarily a lawyer, just someone who know what they are doing and can avoid mistakes that can add time to the process.

Has anyone here used such a service that they were happy with. Maybe one that has a good reputation and is priced fiarly.

If there is a list of such services somewhere on the site could someone please point me in that direction.

    Thank you.

    Jeff

The best help you actually can find is in this forum since we all are going through the same process.

Read, read and read and you will find all the answeres on your questions and what still you can´t find the answers for, so just open a new thread and ask and you for sure will get some helpful advices.

Believe me, it´s not that difficult to file for a K-1 visa but it will need you to have some strong nerves and a huge portion of patience.

We had thought about asking a lawyer or visa service to do all the paperwork for us but now since we hopefully will get approved before too long we have seen it wasn´t hard to do it all on our own at all and we are glad we didn´t have to spend so much money on them.

What sucks the most about this procss is the long waiting times until something happens at all and until you will get approved - especially if your case will get transfered to CSC. We originally have filed in TCS too.

So welcome on VJ and good luck for you guys on this exciting journey

  3. From the speed at which they are working I would say they are already on 3 day work weeks!!

If we are lucky enough to even get three days out of them!!! Govt. employees are given Monday as a holiday, but if CSC works on the weekend (which sometimes I think they do because we see touches on weekends) then the only day they would have off is Monday....maybe thats being too optimistic.

In any case, here is to hoping for lots of March approvals this week (Me, and Gary, and sbgWolf and all the rest!!!)

I seriously doubt CSC works on the weekends. They need their weekend to rest from all the stress we cause on them with our petitions and they need the wekends for them to read in quiete what we say here in this forum.

The touches you realize over weekends are probably from people updating everything that has to do with the web, like portofolio and USCIS status report website. I guess those poor guys have to work on weekends but it´s doubtful any USCIS officers they work on our cases do.

    Just my opinion.

  4. Hello everyone!

A friend of mine was divorced 3 times and he wants to know if he has to submit all 3 divorce decrees with the I-129F petition or just the most recent one. Also, would copies of the divorce decree(s) acceptable? Or they need to be original?

    Thanks,

    Aibeen

I got divorced twice and had sent in only the last divorce certificate with pur petition package. well, me not sending in the certificate from my first divorce, 19!!!!! years ago, has caused another delay on our process and CSC mailing us a second RFE. so you better send in all divorce certificates you have and if they are not in english so you need them translated and notarized by a certified translator.

    Goodluck on your journey

  5. You don't call or e-mail anyone at USCIS - it's not worth the time spent on doing it. They won't tell you anything different from what you get online and they'll give you canned responses. Sorry. Contact your congressmen/senators instead and ask them for an inquiry on your behalf.

That´s not quite right. We have called the service # right after we received our second RFE and for the first time since all the calling we did before to find out about the status of our petition and the one email we wrote and what was nothing but wasted time too, we had a very nice and helpful lady on the line.

well, we didn´t call to ask when we will get approved. instead we have called to ask some questions regarding the papers that still was requested.

so if you call because of problems with a RFE or any other questions about your case except of asking them when you will get approved finally it can be helpful.

    just an experience we made.

    Goodluck

  6. We haven´t been touched many times and the only way we understood a touch was they had our file in their hand. Of course this gives you hope for something to happen maybe soon but to all newbies we only can recommend: Don´t put too much hope in touches, when status doesn´t change!" We know you wanna believe in something but don´t believe in touches.

Anyway, the only touches they really mean something to us are when by honey bunny and I can touch each other :) and the final touch from CSC with the change of status that will say: "Approved"

  7. I cant believe..after about 7 months we were finally approved...

I have a question though.....how do we track our case now? how do i know when it gets to NVC? and leaves NVC??

please help.. I am so excited.... i want to know when and where my case goes next

    thanks :dance::help::dance::):D:blush:

    CONGRATULATION!!!!

we got told a phone # for the NVC and to call there after a few days we will be approved (someday in whatever how many more weeks or months  ) and to ask there if the papers have arrived with them yet and if so them to tell us our new case number. then I guess you need to keep calling there and ask them if they have forwarded it to the embassy of your finace(e') country yet or when you could expect that to happen.

the # we got told is 630-334-0700

Goodluck and our best wishes for you guys common future

  8. yes...finally...bill recieved 3 emails...we got approved.....i want to thank everyone who helped us along the way...there were so many, could not have stayed sane if it were not for you guys....thanks again...and good luck to everyone still waiting... (F)

CONGRATULATIONS! Goodluck and our best wishes for you guys future.

we are on day 128 now plus/minus 1 day if I´m not mistaken. We are almost about to stop counting the days and just to wait in line. Now after today we have sent back the papers for the second RFE, we will have some more hope again to maybe get approved before too long too.

    PJ + R

  9. We received a second RFE on August 25.

I got divorced twice but had sent in only the divorce certificate from the second, my last divorce. We really thought that would be enough and the guys with the CSC would be smart enough to know that Germany wasn´t a country where multi marriages at the same time was allowed.

Anyway, CSC requested the divorce certificate of the my divorce from 19 years ago! ! ! plus of course a certified and notarized translation.

There went another 50Euro...more than 60 Dollars.

Could bite me in my own butt that we havent´t thought about to also include those papers to our pertition in the first line already. well, another delay!

PJ, my baby from TX called them and asked the lady from the service hotline (for the first time she had someone on the phone who was friendly and polite and even helpful) if it was possible to send back the required papers per fax from germany and that lady got ahold of an office in CA who told her that would be fine. Well, we will have to see if this really will be fine or if we will get another RFE and the papers still need to be sent via air mail to TX and then via mail to CA. To fax the papers from Germany to TX has saved us at least 7-10 days.

We hope and pray now that was the last RFE we have gotten and we maybe will get approved before too long.

    Goodluck to everyone

  10. Where are all the signatures of the members of this forum? I would think just on VJ are waiting more than 21 couples waiting for them to get approved finally. Not even to mention all those people they come and surf through this forum trying to find all kind of infomations but aren´t registered with VJ.

The more signatures we can collect the more they will have to open their ears and them to take actions concerning the problem of the eternal long waiting times for getting approved for a K-1 visa (especially with CSC).

What do we have to lose if we sign this petition? NOTHING! We actually only can win something! And if we won´t be the ones who really will be able to see any afflections anymore so maybe at least all those couples will, they still will have to go through this journey after we all might be approved yet. We for sure don´t wish to anyone they might have to wait as long as we have to wait on our approvals for now.

So folks. show a bit courage! Sign now!

  11. We have signed earlier today too. we will do all we can do to make those people waking up a bit and them to hopefully get some fire made under their butts because it´s not their lives that gets wasted on endelss waiting times, it´s our lives and our times we actually already could spend witn our fiance(e´) in a happy relationship or even marriage. I bet at 4:00p.m. they go home to tehir loved ones and nobody does really care about how we feel like when we have to be apart from who we love so much and we want to be together with.

I hope the list of signatures will get endless long, at least same as endless long las the waiting times are on getting approved!

  12. Hallo Samunda,

    and now in english...

    Hello Samunda,

you found a forum in english language. so if you have any questions or comments please ask only in english. It wouldn´t be fair to forum members they only speak english if you start any conversations in german and you wouldn´t get much of response on your questions either. In case you are having language problems so you can send me messages and I will try to help you.

    Goodluck

  13. I also learned a good way for me to lose a few extra pounds was for my fiance to go back to Taiwan .. Me and my dog would just kinda look at the stove.. sigh then go to the store and buy something to barbeque :P (Not saying she had to cook but she always made the best meals for me to eat that made me and my stomach happy)

If that love and trust that gets build up in a realationship which is on this journey (not to say on this horror trip) won´t hold, then I don´t know what could be a harder test to go through.

    Goodluck to everyone

  14. You and your fiance could get married while she's on a temporary visa provided that she didn't have a prior intent to stay for good and adjust status, otherwise it'd be considered immigration fraud (so # 2 is highly risky).

However, you could get married in the U.S. while she's there. She'd then come back to Brazil and you guys would file for a K-3. That's a third option.

An overview of the pros and cons about a K1 and a K3 can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare

We have heard K3 process takes even longer than K1. We have thought about that option too and us just to get married here in Germany or in the US while I was there with my B2 visa or my baby was here. Not sure about how that works for Brazilians but for Germans it does definately take longer do get permission for residence in the US if a K3 visa was filed for.

A spontanous wedding was totally out of question for us since we have met for the first time already 2 years ago and have been together in person for so many months either in TX or here in Germany. They never ever would believe in a spontanous wedding.

Goodluck for whatver you will decide for

PS: sorry for all the spelling mistakes in my other response. I was in kind a hurry when I typed it and english isn´t my native tongue anyway.

  15. >>>SteveInge

thanks for giving us a little more hope LOL

We have met in Dallas for the first time but you know what?

We have planned on getting married in Banderas on ranch.

Haven´t made any exactly wedding plans yet, that´s just impossible at this time but it is something we have talked about and we both would like very much.

    >>>kitkat1

Somone from the USCIS in TX where we originally have filed, has told us to write a little statement and to add it to our petition that we are intend to get married within 90 days after I will enter the US and they told Paula it would be good to also tell them what kind of wedding we have planned on.

  16. From what you've said, I'm guessing they want to see the passport stamps or something of the like to validate your trip. The thing about boarding passes/tickets is that you can have them and not use them. The actual passport stamps validate that the tickets were used and you actually went to that country.

Of course, I'm not an expert by any means, as I haven't even started this process, but that seems likely.

    Goodluck.

Well, I guess in about 3 or 4 days we will know more and we will get told what now again they still need and how they can delay the whole process for a few weeks or even months longer. If it really will be a copy of the passport stamps so that wouldn´t be any problem except of the slow mail from here to TX. But within 2 weeks it probably could be back on their desk. Just wondering how long it will lay there again until it will get touched next time.

Anyway, welcome in the club and good luck for you guys to go through this journey and maybe things will work out faster for you than for most of the people here.

When we filed our petition in April we still hoped we maybe would be together in October but this dream we have given up about by now and I´m glad I didn´t cancel the lease contract for my apartment yet. LOL I might have to sleep under a bridge then.

Now we still hope for us to be together for good by Christmas but even this hope gets a little smaller every new day.

Hey, where did yu guys met online? don´t tell me on Pogo like Paula and I have met. LOL

  17. Hey Wolf!

Good thing you have done something to calm your nerves! I was getting worried about you man! ;)

I cant believe that you wont have an answer by November...I am sure that USCIS cannot be that incompetent. So, when you go see your honey, you guys can celebrate the good news (that Im sure you will have by then!) TOGETHER!

Im still waiting with you brother...im sure we are BOTH gonna get some good news soon.

    Hey Wolf,

we know exactly how you are feeling and what you are going through.

My baby Paula was here with me in germany for 4 weeks in May and I don´t know how we are supposed to go through maybe another 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 (to be continued LOL) months without being together again.

We have been very lucky in compare to probably so many other people they couldn´t see each other for as often and as long as we did. We got the chance of being together more than the half of total time of our relationship and guy, we have met each other first time in person in May 2004.

We know what expenses this traveling back and fore causes on you.

So just try to forget about our "friends" from the service centers for a while and enjoy the time you will have with your darling and you will see that time will give you new strenght.

I wish we could afford to see each other again but we can´t. The past two years have used up too much of our money and we have to step one step back now. But we hope this is coming to an end before too long and we still haven´t given up on our hope to be together for good by christmas.

Goodluck and have a safe trip and great time!

  18. # 2 is easier but not quiete legal. you would have a spontanous wedding but since you have mmet several times before so the INS or USCIS or wheoever might not believe in you just met and got amrried sponatous and you might run in some serious trouble which even can cause you will get removed from the US.

    # 1 is the legal but harder and long time lasting way. but at least you wouldn´t need to be afraid you might do anything unlawful or to even get deported. once you will get approved so you can get married and you after the wedding you can apply for changing your status to unconditional residence and apply for social security card and working permission.

just keep looking through this forum and you will find plenty of threads about this subject.

    Goodluck
