  1. Hi everyone,

on Dec. 13, 2006 we arrived together at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and everything went just fine me going through the customs. The INS officer went through all my papers (package #3, the sealed envelop from the consulate) and after he was done he congratulated us for our upcoming wedding and told us to go to the local USCIS office in Houston as soon as we got married.

Our wedding day was Jan. 25, 2007 and right now we are about to put everything together for applying the AOS and to send the whole package off to the lockbox in Chicago.

Now we would like to know if it's really necassary we will have to go to the local USCIS office in Houston to report them our wedding and show them our marriage certificate or is it enough to include a certified copy of the marriage certificate with the package we are sending off to Chicago. Could we show up at the local office in Houston without setting up an appointment or would we have to go through INFOPASS for an appointment first?

The officer at the airport didn't hand me back any of the papers they were in the sealed envelop that I got from the consulate in Frankfurt/Germany. (Any idea who got those papers???)

In the guide on VISAJOURNEY about how K-1 visa holders apply for AOS we have read we need to include an I-693A form (vaccination supplement).

Does that mean, since I didn't get any of my papers back, I will have to take my International Vaccination Passport to a Civil Surgeon and ask them to fill in the form all the vaccinations I got they were required for the K-1 visa. Or would a copy of my International Vaccination Passport be enough to include it with the I-485 form?

If I will have to go to Civil Surgeon, so can anybody recommend me one here in the Houston area (if possible North Houston/Spring/Woodlands/Conroe) who could fill out that form without we would have to apply for a credit so we could pay for it? ;)

    Thanks for your help

  2. also on part 3 they asked for date visa was issued. Is that the date of the Interview, The date she recieved the visa in the mail? I know it's not the date she arrived here in the USA. Having a hard time remembering the exact date it was issued. Can't seem to find that date on any paperwork.

Look at the visa that is printed in the passport. There it also will tell you the date when it was issued.

  3. Hi.

first of all good luck on your journey and hopefully you are a patient person.

regarding your question how long the process of a K-1 visa might take so at the bst you check out some timelines of members here from this forum.

I am German too and we finally have passed everything so far except I´m still waiting for my visa to be sent to me by registered mail.

We got started in April 2006 and my visa interview appointment in Frankfurt was on Nov. 09.

But the processing times varey a lot, depending a lot on what service center you had to file with.

    So once again Good Luck

    Hi everyone,

yes, we are still alive even we haven´t posted much in a while.

But today we would like to share the latest and really good news with you.

Today finally was our big day. I, Rico, had the interview appointment with the consulate in Frankfurt.

Everything went just fine. Within less than a hour I was done and got told from the consular I will receive my passport with the visa and all other papers by mail next week.

The interview itself was more like a small talk with the consular and the guy was as kind as he only could be.

I got there with two folders full of documents and evidence of our relationship is still ongoing and I thought it might be required or they at least wanted to see some of them. But besides of the required documents from the check list they didn´t ask for one single thing. The only what the consular has asked me was, when last time I have been in the US and when last time my honey was here in Germany.

Since my son is going to eventually follow me to the US at a later time next year and he has applied for his K2 visa, I actually expected the consular might ask him or me more questions but the only my son had to do was him to swear on all information on the forms were true and filled in by best knowledge. And of course we had to leave our finger prints.

I have read in older posts about when people have told about their experiences with the consulate in Frankfurt and how nice everyone would be there and I only can agree on that. So whoever will have their interview in Frankfurt, don´t be worried and don´t get all nervous like I was. There is no reason for. Just make sure you will provide all required documents from the checklist you will get with package #3.

Well, in 3 weeks from today, on Nov. 30 my honey will arrive here to Germany and on Dec 13 we will go back home together to Texas and we finally can get started that life together, we had to wait for such a long time.

Our wedding is planned for January but we haven´t set up any exactly date yet.

Since we are posting this latest news about our journey we also would like to use the occassion and want to thank everyone whoever has answered on any of our questions we have posted here within the past several months and who has helped us with any advices or even just by them trying to encourage us a bit when sometimes we almost lost our hope this long journey might never come to an end. This forum was the best help and support we could think of for us to have while going through this process and we for sure will stay members of it and keep updating our timeline and try to help those couples they are still at the begin of their journey.

We would like to wish everyone all the best and good luck. And guys, don`t lose your hope even if sometimes things might look hopeless to you. Everything will work out fine if you only meet all the requirements for this process.

  5. This court letter should be good enough. Since your husband wasn´t living legally in germany he won´t be able to apply for a police record from germany anyway. Just explain the situation to the consulate manager. What in the first line they wanna check for is if he has any crime records. If your husband never got in conflict with german law, besides of he has lived in germany ilegally, you won´t have to worry.

    Good Luck

  6. First of all you better expect you might need a lot of patience depending on what service center you have filed with.

In case the service center needs more information from you, so expect them to send you a RFE (Request For Evidence) which you should send back with the required information as soon as possible for you to prevent any longer delays of your case.

Also take some time to read as much as you can in this forum (also the older postings!). This forum is the best source for you to get help and kinds of information you can think of.

Good Luck on your journey through this process

    Paula Jo and Rico

  7. All we can say concern you are so worried your case got so many times touched and you still haven´t gotten any decision yet is, you shouldn´t put neither too much hope nor getting confused about any touches at all.

Some people had lots of touches, other cases havent gotten touched hardly any at all and got their approvals too. Read some of the older posts here in this forum about this subject.

If you can tell you meet all the requirements for the petition to get approved so don´t let yourself down and worry all the time about you might get denied. How many couples have gotten denied? Hardly any at all!

This process just takes a lot of time and it asks for a lot of your patience.

Good Luck on your journey through all of this and keep thinking positive!

  8. Thanks for everything you did for this forum and to help everyone going through this Journey.

Our best wishes for your future, Good Luck and Bless your heart. (F)(F)(F)

PS: still a note about MATAKO and his really "nice" comments....

It´s a shame that he can post in this forum and he even expects any advices and help.

We are sure, a member like him we can miss on here.

  9. There has been said so much here in this forum about the subject Touches. Just don´t give too much of any meaning on those touches. It only means someone with the service center has opend your file maybe or even they just moved it from one shelf to another. A touch is only then interesting if there also was an update in your status message.

We know how exciting it is seeing a touch but after a while you will learn not every touch will be followed by any actions.

Some people had lots of touches and nothing happend anytime soon. Others hardly didn´t get touched and got approved real fast.

Good Luck on your journey and we hope for you to get approved soon too

    Paula Jo and Rico

  10. our case finally received with the NVC from CSC after 3 weeks. we got approved on 9-11 (actually we got approved 9-8 but didn´t get notice before 9-11) and NVC told us in an email response the case was put in their system on 03-10.

how long now it will take for the NVC to forward it to Frankfurt we don´t know exactly but a lady from the NVC told us it would be for sure in Fankfurt until Oct 10.

that would be exactly 1 month after the approval. well, our NOA2 will expire on 01-08-2007. hope the consulat in Frankfurt won´t have to extend it.

    Good Luck-Viel Glück

  11. You for sure won´t have to go back.

But like the poster from before said so you need to go through the process of AOS.

we just don´t know why so many people say the AOS could become a giant pain in the rear.

The AOS will ajust your status from conditional residence to unconditional permanent residence and at this point you also will apply for working permission and social security card.

After 2 more years you will get an invitation for another interview and you guys will have to prove once again you are still living together. We heard about that interview can be a pain in the rear but if you still will be doing fine in your marriage and you will have evidence of you are living together so that shouldn´t cause any bigger problems either. After you will have passed that interview you will get issued your Green Card.

If anyone knows better so please feel free to correct us.

    Good Luck

    Paula Jo and Rico

  12. Just found out that NVC finally received our file, and assigned a case no. Hope it will soon be dispatched to New Delhi.

So, is packet 3 the next step? What is in packet 3?

Congrats! at least something was happening on your case. We got approved on 9-11 and our case has still not been forwarded to the NVC yet. Well, maybe today or tomorrow. never give up the hope! LOL

package #3 is what your fiance will get from the consulate where he/she lives. it includes some forms and a document check list for all documents he/she needs to provide for the later interview.

so nothing you really can do about that to help him/her except of you should send the I-134 (affidavit of support) as soon as possible to him or her.

package #3 gives also farther instructions how the whole process will go on and we would recommend for your fiance to send all requested forms and the check list back as soon as possible to prevent any delays.

    Good Luck

    Paula Jo and Rico

Next stage of waiting. That's so priceless!! And so true!!!

I called NVC today, and was told my petition hadnt reached them yet, but the woman said by next week it would be there for sure and asked me nicely to call again. My NOA2 date was Sept.11th. So next monday is four weeks. Im not stressing about.....YET. (okay maybe a lil bit!)

I wish we would have your patience! LOL

we are stressing out about because this endless waiting is just annoying and since we don´t have much trust in CSC they maybe could mess up things again.

Well, now we hope our case will get transfered to the NVC this week still.

It´s doubtful the papers will arrive in Frankfurt/Germany until Oct. 10 like the one lady from the NVC told us they would when the other day we again called there for the x-times.

Guess we will just have to wait and see. No big change since that´s anyway all we could do for the last almost 6 months.

    Good Luck

    Paula Jo and Rico

  13. We got approved on 9-11 but no NVC case number yet. We have called the NVC several times and last time a lady told us they have received a whole bunch of cases from CSC and we shouldn´t worry. The lady told us our case for sure will get transfered to the embassy in Frankfurt/Germany until October 10th. Not sure what made her saying that but well, we hope she was right.

So the waiting goes on and on and on......

    Good Luck

    Paula Jo and Rico

  14. The evidence you have named should be just fine and enough. We always only had e-tickets and didn´t safe all the boarding cards either. So we just sent them a copy of the e-tickets. Just add pictures of different places you have been together and they show you together. if you have pictures showing you and your honey together with friends, relatives or family so that would be good too.

Any kinds of receipts like restaurant tickets would be fine too. Also phone bills count as an evidence.

But we haven´t sent all that stuff. We have only sent copies of our e-tickets and lots of pictures from every time we have visit each other and have titled those pictures when they were taken and on what location and who was to see on the picture. So we included e.g. pictures showing Paula Jo together with my son in TX same as in Germany and also pictures showing me together with Paula Jo´s parents in KS.

Not sure if that was what made them to approve us but we got approved and that is all that counts.

    Good Luck

    Paula Jo and Rico
