You can submit it immediately following the marriage with the appropriate paperwork and certified marriage ceritficate while i the US, no issues.

Yes, and I recommend having all of the other paperwork together and ready to go when you arrive in the US so that all you're missing is the marriage certificate. You'll want to submit your paperwork ASAP. It takes f.o.r.e.v.e.r. to get an I-130 approved. Best of luck!

  2. I'm so glad to have found this group of people going through the same thing I am right now. Everyone I know keeps asking me, "When is your husband moving here?" I keep saying, "I don't know. I haven't heard anything since January." Then, they look at me in disbelief and say something like, "Really? I thought that once you got married, your husband got to move here automatically." Haha, I wish. How is everyone else holding up?

Wrong topic, my friend! We were the people who filed in January a year before you. I hope almost all of us are done now. My husband has been in the US almost five months. Yes, the waiting was hellish, but so worth it. This is likely the longest waiting period you'll have, right now. Good luck.

Whoops! Well, I'm glad to hear that there's an end to all of this. :)

  4. I'm not a lawyer or anything, but my husband's two year requirement ended in January of 2017. I waited until December 2016 to file an I-130, but I think that your husband can submit everything for an I-130 3 or 4 months before your time is up. It usually takes ~4-9 months for an I-130 to be processed, and based on what I've read, it's not necessary to wait until your two years are up to file an I-130. However, you do have to wait until the two years are up to proceed to the next step, where you apply for a green card. Best of luck!
