I spoke to my two teenagers about just this BUT they only test for gonorrhoea and syphilis - one is blood, one urine. And only interested in them because they are worried they will become drug resistant. So no need to worry - or delay

Thanks Helen. Knowledge is power. Not that i want to be president, just want to be with my girl. Much appreciated. Kids know best!

Regardless of how long it stays in your system (and hair follicle tests have been ordered - these hold results for years), one of the questions you will be asked is whether you have ever used recreational drugs. You MUST answer truthfully and the let the cards fall where they may. It may be a one-year ban with regular drug testing.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate all input. I would rather be honest and a decent person. As the saying goes "if you can't handle the truth..."

  3. I am almost ready to book medical and interview for K1 fiance visa in London. A couple of medical history questions have made me think. I have 'partied' somewhat over the years. Quit everything a few weeks back because i really want to be with my girl, but was wondering how long certain things stay in your system, how precise is test (if any). how strict are rules, do I declare everything and will it ruin my chances of visiting the US if negative? Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. If I attend an interview at the American Embassy in London without an Affidavit of Support from my American fiancée, does anyone know what will happen? My father, who lives in America and became an American citizen about ten years ago, has provided me with an Affidavit of Support, so will his Affidavit alleviate the lack of an Affidavit from my fiancée? Surely not all American fiancées, or fiancés, have the financial means to support the person they are going to marry. I would think that once they marry they will pool their financial resources. Thanking you in advance for any information you can provide.

  5. I have received a letter from the American Embassy in London and am gathering together everything I will need for my interview. On the affidavit of support – I-134. My fiancée owns a company with a partner in America. Does she attach her tax return for the company or her personal tax return? The same with her bank details; the company bank details or her personal bank details?

Thank you for any answer you can give.

  6. Once again, a big thank you to all who took the time and trouble to reply to my questions. You people who use, read, follow and answer questions from new applicants/beneficiaries are exceptionally kind and helpful. My fiancé and I will try to be more vigilant when our new application is sent off shortly; we will also follow the suggestions you made so that we don't become more frustrated than we already are. A SINCERE THANK YOU TO ALL. John

My fiancé sent off the I-129F forms in April 2016. She got a letter in October saying that her application had been abandoned because she never replied to a letter USCIS say they sent her in June. She did not reply because she never got it. Since then she has sent off three letters and also telephoned three times stating that she never received their June letter. Finally she got a letter from USCIS dated January 28, 2017 stating that "the I-129F petition was denied on October 11, 2016; notice was mailed to the address of record at that time and was not returned undeliverable." They suggested that she could send off for a copy of the denial notice -  but she already has this denial notice. Does she have to start all over again (bearing in mind that the fee has now gone up from $340 to $535) or is there something else she can do? Many thanks for any  help you may be able to give.

A supplementary question. My father lives in Florida and has agreed to give me an affidavit of support should I need it. Should his I-134 "Affidavit of Support" be sent off with the I-129F or should he send it to me to take to the embassy when I am called?

Make sure (if you didn't last time) to include a G-1145 on the very top of your application stack. It's the e-notification form, so that *hopefully* next time should any notice be sent out, she'll see it noted on the USCIS status check website and be emailed/texted... and if a reasonable amount of time has elapsed without receiving the snail mail notice, she could move faster to track it down in the event something goes missing. Hope attempt #2 works out much better for you. :)

My fiancé did attach a G-1145 to her application but never got an e-mail at all. Just a letter in October to say her application had been abandoned.

  9. Very many thanks to all who took the time and trouble to reply to my question. It looks like the original letter of June from USCIS was a request for more information BUT as my fiancé never received it she could not reply. As the old adage goes, hindsight is twenty twenty. She is now gathering all the information together and sending in another petition. Guess we now have to reschedule our wedding. Once again A BIG THANK YOU. John.
