  1. Hi everybody, I am glad to see that I am not the only one going crazy here.  My fiance is in Costa Rica, he had his K1 interview on July 18, everything went well but he got a 221(g) because they required one more document.  The official told him not to worry that he was going to get his visa as soon as they received the document.  On July 19 my fiance requested the document and it was given to him on July 24, he put it in the mail and according to the post office, the embassy received it on the 26.  Meanwhile our status went from Administrative processing on July 18 it changed to Ready on July 27 then to Application Received on July 28, by the way they changed the "case created date" to July 28.  Four hours later it went back to Administrative Processing.

hello! i just called NVC and got our case number.

    how about you guys?

Yes, we got ours on the April 27, but unfortunately, they sent the application to the wrong country.  My fiance was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras but has been living in Costa Rica for the last few years.  When we got the approval letter, it was specified the consulate was San Jose not Tegucigalpa.  Well, after talking to so many different customer service.  They finally told me they were going to make sure the application got to the right consulate.  So, right now is in transit to Tegucigalpa, once is there God only knows how but NVC assured me they are going to send it to Costa Rica.  I am a 47 years woman but I was crying like a young girl.  How did this happened.  I don't know.  Needless to say, I am going to call Tegucigalpa, Costa Rica and wherever I need to call to make sure my application finally gets to the right place.

I am so glad that you got your case number.  I wish you guys the best.  Blessings.

Please keep the thread updated. I was unsuccessful in having them change the embassy at NVC and was told that they are prohibited from doing so without a letter requesting to do so (which takes several weeks and they only have the I-129F for days). But I would hope it's different if the mistake is on their side. Good luck!!!

yes, I will.  They lady started telling me about sending a request to change the embassy but when I told her my NOA2 had the right consulate, that's when she put me on hold and then came back and told me it was their mistake.

  4. I just called NVC, they finally gave me my case number, the problem is the application is scheduled to be sent to the wrong country.  My fiance was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras but he lives in San Jose, Costa Rica.  I told the lady my NOA2 actually specify the consulate is SAN JOSE, as well as all my paper work.  She apologize and said that it was a mistake made at the NVC and she was going to "elevate the case to a supervisor" and she was going to talk to a supervisor to fix the problem.  The good news she said is that the application is still here in the States is not gone yet.  She told me to call at the end of next week to find out what the status of this mess is.  Oh my God!!! I am panicking here.  How can this be happening.  It took almost 4 weeks for them to get the application and now this.  As you guys can understand, I won't be able to sleep until this matter is resolved.  I am a grown up woman but I could cry right now.

We were not able to get our NVC MTL# until about 4 weeks from our NOA2 approval.  Apparently, Canada does things pretty slow.  Although, the process getting the packet 3, packet 4, scheduling the interview and the interview itself was pretty straight forward.

    Good luck!

I took four weeks? Well, I am a little bit relieved, I was starting to think that there is something wrong with my case, even though the uscis lady told me everything was in order.  Thank you.

Our NOA2 date was April 6 (I was in the USA visiting my fiance at the time). I returned home yesterday and today decided to call the NVC to see if they had received our case yet. The lady I spoke to said they'd already sent it to the embassy in Montreal! After waiting months and months for our NOA2, things seem to be speeding up for us.

I am happy for you guys.  I hope my case and others who are in my same position our next soon.  I wish you the best.

I'm in the same boat. NOA2 date of April 6, and NVC still hasn't received our case. I keep getting the "it could take up to 6 weeks", but I know (primarily due to everyone's timelines here) that it could take less. But now it's been 13 business days, and it's getting a little tiresome.

My was approved on March 29.  I don't understand how they work.  And I am getting a little bit tired of this.

My fiance just called the US Embassy in Costa Rica and they told him, the application is not there yet and once the National Visa Center sends it, they will let him know.  But he has to wait for the documents to be sent to Costa Rica.  I hope you have better luck than me.

Hi! We called today at NVC and as per the csr my fiance spoke with that haven't received it yet and to try to call next week.

We will call again next Friday.

I just called the National Visa Center and again they told me they have not received my case.  The lady said wait at least 30 days, so she recommended I call after April 29th.  I really don't understand why this is taking so long.

After days of researching the situation, every cases actually has to go through NVC because they do not send cases to consulates directly. That said, I still haven't got my case number yet as I just called this morning.

I would suggest calling everyday, and pray.

Thank you for your response.  May I ask how long have you been waiting since you received your NOA2?

I checked this old thread from 2011 and this person seemed to get in the same situation as me. However, everyone in the thread replied that it is impossible for a case to go straight to the consulate without going through NVC to get a case-number assigned to it. The OP of the thread also stated that he confirmed with a NVC rep that he was on the phone with about the possibility of a case going straight to the consulate instead of NVC and the rep said yes. The thread was practically closed with the OP saying they got their case number without stating how.

I calle NVC twice this morning, the first time was to the immigrant visa line and the guy told me that it could go directly to the consulate.  I wasn't sure his answer was right because the consulate in Costa Rica told me something different.  So, I called NVC again, this time to the nonimmigrant visa line, the lady confirmed that my case is not there yet, we were approved on 03-29-17, but she stated that the information I was given the first time was wrong.  That even though my NOA2 does not state that is going to NVC, it still will, because they do not send cases directly to the consulates.  She was nice even though I asked her the same questions more than once.  She just advised me to keep calling.  I don't really know what else to do.  Any suggestions?

    Hi!

We have the same Noa2. It is also mentioned that it will be forwarded to the listed consulate.

We are planning to call NVC on Friday since it will be the 2nd week from our approval date.

Anyone else got the same Noa2?

Yes, we got the same one.  We were approved on 03-29-17.  I called NVC just now, the lady said they have not received my case and it will take like 6 weeks.  She also said that even though the letter does mention that it will be forwarded to the listed consulate, it does still have to go through them.  So, I don't know what to think.

Hi everyone again, I know I have alot of questions.

I've been calling the NVC couple weeks back to see if they have received our case from USCIS. I called today and they still haven't. It's been almost a month since we got approved. I called USCIS yesterday and they said they already forwarded my case on the same day they approved it. However, the guy at NVC today asked me to take a look at my approval notice. I noticed that USCIS doesn't mention anything about forwarding the case to NVC, but to the listed consulate instead. The guy at NVC even said this is weird and he thought that it came to the NVC first.

Now, I already asked my fiancee to check with the embassy tomorrow (its midnight in Vietnam now). Has anyone experienced this situation or known anyone experienced this situation before?

    Thanks

I have the same exact notice with the difference that mine does mention the consulate.  I called NVC today and I was told they have not received my case.  We were approved on 03-29-17.  The lady assured me that even though my letter did not mention being sent to NVC, it will still go there because they are not sent directly to the consulates.  She told me to keep calling because it usually takes 6 weeks for them to get the cases from USCIS.  This is so frustrating.

  14. I went to visit my fiance in Costa Rica on March 29.  That night we were having diner when I received an email from uscis stating our case was approved.  We are so happy.  I called home in Indiana and my NOA2 hard copy got in the mail yesterday.   May the glory be to God.

We got approved on March 29.  I sent my application on January 9rh.  The case was received on January 12th.   Waiting period 71 days.  Our case was not expedite.  Good luck to everybody and many blessings.

Going to be attempting to follow in Geo's footsteps for us Jan filers and do scans a few times a week once I have all of the Jan I-129fs sorted, and then once they start making progress on Jan cases I will try to do nightly scans.

This is what I have so far: (excuse the non Jan dates in there)
