Hi guys, both parents got their I-130 approved last week. Service Centre: Potomac. Based on recent posts above I see Potomac is moving thankfully!

Hi guys, just came back after a long while. Have we been seeing any movement on April filers who got acceptances to begin applications?

Hi Melican, Yes that is the normal message that you see while your case is being processed at USCIS. They should have mailed you the NOA1 (Notice of Action) forms to let you know they recieved your I-130. There is nothing to do now other than wait for them to process your case. Once they are done they will send you a NOA2 to inform you your case has moved on to NVC. If USCIS needs anymore information they will send you an RFE (Request For Evidence)
USCIS normally updates the timeline page roughly once a month on the 15th. Depending on which Service center your case was sent to you can calculate their wait time. Hopefully your case was not sent to Nebraska center because they are the slowest at the moment in case processing. Am on month 9 waiting when it "should" have taken 5 months. Good Luck
Thank you very much for your informative response. I did receive the NOA1. So is it after I receive the NOA2 I pay and fill put the DS-260?

Hey Guys,
Applied for my parents and the application was received on April 10. I am part of the April thread but seeing that you guys have more experience and possibly further along the process; can you advise below:
At present the online status says Your case was received... we have sent you the receipt which tells you how the case would be processed and please follow the instructions. But I did not see anything stating how it would be processed and no instructions to follow. Is this the normal message when checking the status online?
And when is the average time that the status online changes?

How do you guys received an email? I sent mine via express mail usps and it was received the next day.. sent it may 2 and they received it may 3. Until now they don't cash the Check and makes me worried if something wrong with my paper😥
There is a a cover form that you fill out if you wish to have them acknowledge it. Called a G-1145.

Hey guys, first post here. Petitioned for my parents (via 2 separate packages), was sent to Potomac Office. These wait times are long! Timeline is below:
Apr 7 17 - Sent via Fedex
Apr 10 17 - Received at Chicago
Apr 12 17 - Received emails confirming receipt
Apr 17 17 - Received confirmation letters via mail
At present the online status stays Your case was received... we have sent you the receipt which tells you how the case would be processed and please follow the instructions. But I did not see anything stating how it would be processed and no instructions to follow. Is this the normal message when checking the status online?
And, what status do you all have at present?

Hi guys, quick question - just ensuring that although I have started this process of submitting the I-130 that my parents can still legally visit me in the US? Thank you!

Hi - I am new to here and I love that this thread is so active. I am filing for my parents. Just want to confirm the steps:
1 - Send in I130 together with fee of $535 per person and wait for petition approval (how does approval come?)
2 - Upon approval pay $235 per person online and await receipt
3 - When receipt is sent to email complete and send the DS-260 via the portal (how does approval come?)
4 - Wait for approval and then file will be transferred to local Visa office for medicals and interview
Thank you!

Hello - I am starting the petition process as well. I am a US citizen. Is it that I have to do 2 forms for my mom and dad, the I-30 and have them dropped off or mailed in together with $535 x 2? And that is it? The process begins?
Also, is there a separate thread for this? Thank you!

Received the NOA2 for my both parents at the end of Sept. And also received the email to assign agents. Waiting for that to be processed and will proceed to pay.
